La Locanda Viminale

Starting from the receptionist Ricardo to his co-workers, amenities, informations regarding the city of Rome, room, breakfast (and I could continue forever) were simply amazing and we're definitely coming back to la Locanda again!

Good and safe location within walking distance to all major landmarks. This is not exactly a hotel but more like a lodge in a dated building with a several self-contained rooms. It has no proper reception and the check in desk is not always manned. Fortunately, there’s a tiny lift retrofitted between stairs to assist guests with heavy luggage. The breakfast is hopeless and, is served to your room every morning, which is a tray containing a small selection of items. We stayed three nights and we noticed the amount of ham slices and cheese served kept reducing as days went by - last day it was only one slice of ham to share between two of us - we had a good laugh! The plus point is however, there are plenty of coffees, cookies and baked tarts left for guests in communal area for self service at no charge. Overall, this place offered us decent and safe accommodation in the centre of Rome at reasonable price with no frills attached.

I would stay here again if I came back to Rome. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. One lovely lady even came and found us when we were lost not to far from where we were staying. The room was very clean and comfy. Nothing was to much for the staff. The breakfast was a good 9/10

Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Had to request that room service provide some toilet paper a couple of times which seemed like a truly basic requirement for room service especially since they didnt provide back up rolls. Otherwise very nice.

Family 3 day stay in Rome, Hotel has a great central location not far from the Colosseum 15 min walk and other attractions approx 30 min walk, plenty of local restaurants nearby. The room was of good size and adequate for a family of 4. beds were comfortable. The room although having a small terrace area had limited natural light and did have a feeling of being closed in. However unless you want to stay in the room all day won't be a real issue. The Wifi is good. Has a lift to get your luggage up from the ground floor. The breakfast of pastries, toast, juice, cheese & ham, yogurt and a coffee of your choice is brought to your room is nice. The 24 hr available water, coffee/tea & biscuits in the common area is also nice. For me the standout was the service provided by Georgia at reception who was always available and accommodating with information and tips and would reply promptly to pre stay emails and the breakfast lady with her preparation of our breakfast daily. Would recommend for a value shorter stay in Rome

We had a triple room perfect for me, my husband and cousin. Walking distance to everything including Roma termini. The staff were very kind and welcoming. We loved the room and balcony. Breakfast was delivered in the morning at the time of our choice. Room was nice and clean and had a small fridge we could use. Would stay again!

I rarely write any reviews, but I wanted to write about my experience with La Locanda Viminale, Rome. It was my first time in Rome, Italy, and I chose this place for my husband and I to stay during our trip. We really loved the location: really close to all major attractions, restaurants and close to Termini train station. I would like to point out that this is not a hotel by any means, and that was the mistake I have made for relying on HOTEL.COM description and not verifying through other resources. It is a B&B with total 5-6 rooms available, all located on the second floor. There is an elevator in the building, but it never worked for us since it was very slow and extremely small (my husband and I couldn’t fit with 2 carry-ons and 1 checked luggage). We had to take the stairs bringing our suitcases which I personally found inconvenient. It didn’t really bother us using stairs other than when arriving and leaving and dealing with the suitcases. One thing I found really unprofessional was the check-in lady requesting for us to pay the city tax with cash only when we gave our credit card. It was quite disturbing after traveling for the last 5 hours hear the front desk lady offering us to even go to the local bank to get the cash instead of just simply accepting our payment. I later learned that it was the way for the locals to avoid paying their taxes.
