The British Hotel

Great place. Extremely clean. Quiet. Bedsare little hard.

Location was awesome, staff was friendly, but it did feel a little bit like a dorm room for some reason. Not a lot of detail into the room and didnt really feel like a 175$ room. But otherwise it was a very nice stay, didnt hear the bar at all from our room!

Stayed overnight for a conference held in Ottawa. It was very easy to get to and from the conference venue. The receptionist was very pleasant but it was strange to find it at the back of the building pass a bar/ restaurant/ kitchen. It wasn’t well indicated it was for the hotel. We stayed in the tipper room: very beautiful, but the giant spacious glass shower is open for viewing. No privacy what so ever; might as well have the toilet out in the open too. The music was not as bad or loud as I expected it; it was more the people outside in the street chatting and smoking that were louder. They should be redirected to the courtyard off the to the side( some space you can use)

Where the action is a beautifully restored historical building with unique and comfortable rooms This is the place to stay if you want to be in the centre of where the fun is on the weekends. Lively people, bands and a festive atmosphere, indoor and a large beautiful outdoor space. Wonderful place for friends to gather or to meet new faces

I was quite disappointed overall. Mainly with the management of the hotel and the lack of adequate customer service 1. I was put into a room where the Air Conditiojing did NOT work. The office staff knew of the air conditioning issues and istead of putting me into a room where AC did work they first tried to put me into a room without proper functioning AC. I dilaed 3 times to the main desk before someone actually answered the phone. The individual then tried to convince me to stay in the room and "be patient" with the air conditioning issue and see how it works. I informed them that I would much rather just be put into a room with working AC.. eventually they did that. 2. So as I mentioned they do not answer phones quickly. I have had to dial between 3 to 5 times for every request. For example the coffee machine was very confusing. I had to call many times. Usually in Hotels where you pay these prices they answer the phones much quicker 3. The service is very slow. The staff seem non energetic and simple requests take too much time waiting. The most disappointing part is that they are still renting out a room where they know the Air Conditioning is not always reliable (they even have a spare, window attaching air conditioner within the room, so clearly this is an issue they were aware of) The one thing I loved: The restaurant staff were terrific! The Bar tenders, evening restaurant staff service were terrific

Beautiful old building completely renovated inside, rooms on the pub side of the building can be a bit noisy at times

Everything was perfect, the room and the hotel. The staff we're very nice.

I would like to be able to view more english channels on tv for example space and historia and discovery etc. Otherwise it was very appreciated, so close to everything !

The room we booked had the AC broken, so the hotel had put a very laid portable one to mitigate, but it would've been impossible to sleep with it. When asked the staff what to do, they did not provide an alternative (switching rooms, credit, etc). So we slept with the windows open, preferring to deal with the outside noise. Called Expedia, and even though they hadn't collected any money (this is a "pay at the hotel" property) they offered us. compensation. Such a shame, cause otherwise it's a nice property.

Tried to check out at 7:30am. Doors locked and no one available. Helpful cleaning staff member called them to be told they opened at 8. Left the key with him! No news from hotel about final bill etc.
