Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel

Never got to check in. Had guaranteed reservations for two rooms. Staff sold the rooms, apparently for a higher price before we arrived. They blamed Hotels.com (expedia) and gave no other excuses or explanations. Hotel said they tried to call Hotels.com, but maybe they were making up stories as they said they could not get through. Effectively stranded us at 23:00 h on a dark road in Africa. No cell phone signal at the property so we could not resolve with the booking agent at Hotels.com. Drove into the darkness until we found a cell phone signal. Called Hotels.com half a dozen times. Spent two hours on hold. Hotels.com refused to find another accommodation unless they could speak to the Hotel. Hotel was not answering the phone. Slept in the car.

Best accommodation in Kendwa! Especially now with the Covid situation when prices were lower, it was deff the best value!! Beach is way nicer than the one at the expensive all inclusive resorts, deff recommend!!

Incredible stay! The beach and the hotel are both perfect. Everyone works at the hotel is incredibly friendly and helpful, and Francis helped us orchestrated everything. Incredible value, and the restaurant food is to die for!

The best beach with blue water, you can swim all the day. Sarurday they organize the beat beach party, food is good and has a good price. Rooms are not so nice, but the beach is perfect.

Pros: great location on the beach. Lots of lounge chairs. Pool & swim up bar. Lots of places to sit to eat/drink. Friendly staff, except 1 lady at beach bar. Breakfast included. Food was ok. Cons: cleaning staff always forgot to give us towels. Moldy shower curtain in Africa 6. Can hear the beach bar late at night from the rooms (ours was far way). Can’t bring your own drinks or snacks in. Power is off and on throughout the night (A/C turns off). Slow service except for the beach bartenders.

Amazing time at Kendwa! Beautiful beach with the bluest water I have ever seen! Beach beds and towels included, great breakfast included! My room was always cleaned perfectly. Although beach had quite a bit of garbage... I also didn’t like how many plastic water bottles they went through, seems like such a waste... Restaurant staff was always friendly... reception was quite rude. Tessilla gave me quite a bit of attitude when I asked about the excursions, as if I was stupid for now already knowing everything lol Besides the small downsides, Kendwa Rocks was a great choice!

Just wow. Kendwa Rocks is absolutely the best. We arrived on the night of the full moon party which was superb, the staff is lovely and helpful, eager to teach basic words in Swahili as well. We had a traditional room, quite spaceous and clean. The pool is great, the beach stretches wider than any other hotels in the area. Sunsets are unbelievable to watch from the beach as well. The food selection is great too. One thing needs fixing and it's the bumpy "road" down to the hotel from the highway. Get ready for a roller-coaster ride, which is well worth it! This was a once in a lifetime experience.

The resort is wonderful. The only complaint my wife an I have is that the electricity to our unit kept shutting off. However, the staff was quick to come and rectify the situation when notified of the issue. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful beach, great food and a wonderful staff. 4.5 out of 5 stars for sure!
