Mark was an attentive host, and our breakfasts were delicious. We stayed in the Great Britain room which was extremely spacious, comfortable, and had the lovely balcony. The supermarket is extremely close for any snacks etc. you might need. We had a great stay and highly recommend!

Beautifully maintained spacious room
We had a 2 night stay in the Great Britian room and loved it. The room was very large, with a private balcony and ensuite. The furnishings in the room were really well done and the king bed very comfortable. Mark and his wife made a lovely breakfast each morning with homemade mini quiches one morning and tomatoes fresh from their garden. The pool wasn't available as it was closed for the season, but the weather wouldn't have been great for that anyway. The Manor is walking distance to a few good value dining choices (we tried Fire & Ice one night and Big Cheese Pizza the second - both were good, though nothing to rave about) and across the road from the Foodland.

A Night getaway
Took some time to really think on my review. So lets start with the positives. We were the only guests at the BnB Mark was great gave us our space but was around if needed. Now to the not so positives. The BnB is in a small quiet town which is great but one main reason for booking this place was it had a nice pool in the back and with lower accommodations it was ideal in this current covid era. As we arrived we were in formed that the pool had some issues and it would be out of commission. We were given the option of still going in but again we declined for obvious reasons. The property itself is under some renos so without the pool there wasnt much to do on site and a lot going on on the grounds. The room was nice some updates to be expected with a lot of wood. The breakfast that we read so highly about was very underwhelming and with only having 2 guests we would have expected a lot more options especially when asked about dietary needs. For the drive from toronto and the price i wouldnt go back. For the kindness of the host for sure. But there is a lot that needs more attention to. We may have gotten a day that was unlike others but again being the only 2 guests more effort could have been put in place.

Markdale Manor was such a picturesque bed and breakfast, with the most beautiful pool. Mark was a great host and served a delicious breakfast. About 40 minute away from Blue Mountain and would stay again!

Mark was a fabulous host. The house was BEAUTIFUL, as was the property. Extremely happy with our room & service. Breakfast was DELICIOUS! Will definitely visit again. Thanks again for everything!

Really a beautifully maintained historic home with lots of character. And the pool area is an oasis!! The hosts were great, very available and friendly and also gave us lots of privacy and space. A wonderful mini vacation away from the city!

Our stay was pretty good. We did not find the bed particularly comfortable, rather hard. The shower stall was quite small and the holder for shampoo etc was in the way of the shower head. The house was beautiful and decorated very well.

We had a great time! Stayed at this B and B as we had a wedding in Walters Falls. House is very large and charming. The property is enchanting with much privacy and gorgeous pool! Breakfast both mornings was homemade and delicious. Would definitely recommend!
