Sands of Treasure Island

We stayed here for our first part of a girls trip. This "resort" was an absolute dump!! Pool was green and filmy. The beach was about a mile walk. The room was smelly with cigaret smoke (this was supposed to be a smoke free "resort" dirty, sand on floor, tub had chunks of hair and lots of mildewy spots in bathroom. NONE of the outlets worked, which meant no lights, not able to charge phone, no TV. We called to have them fixed, a man finally came around 1130pm (mind you, we were two women with 2 younger teenage girls) in our pajamas.. Didn't think that was appropriate! Paid over $200 for ONE night.. Was going to stay a second night, but left because it was THAT TERRIBLE!!

Staff is amazing. Very accommodating. The rooms are huge! It is a 75 year old beach motel, but they keep it clean and are in the process of updating the rooms. It’s a great place!

We enjoyed our stay at the Sands! Convenient to the beach and the pool is in the courtyard which is great when you have kids! It is a older hotel, but our room was clean and we had fresh towels every day! The only thing I would say that needs attention is the futon was very uncomfortable and our kids had to sleep there. Overall, We would definitely stay here again!

The motel met our basic needs of being close to the beach, on the main drag ,and feeling safe. At first the retro decor was cute, but the beds were old, the kitchen table was stained and old, and the advertised sleeper sofa was a dirty futon.

It was decent for the price, but I feel like there were quite a few long-term residents staying there. Some parts of the room were quite decent, some in need of a little TLC (bathroom was the major one). Couldn't really complain about the amount of space, but there were crumbs or something left on the coffee table in the living area. Also, the bathroom, while seemingly clean could really use a thorough cleaning and a little TLC of fresh paint (ceiling mostly) and some tile/grout repairs. All in all for the price it was decent. We didn't use the pool or oven so can't speak to those. They do have a nice little store in the office as well. Walkable to John's Pass and more downtown area.

We were first told that someone else had requested the room that we had already booked and paid for, and they offered us another room with a much smaller bed. We chose our original room, and they obliged. But, that room was freezing all night long as the heater did not work. We obtained extra blankets the next day, and were much more comfortable. The TV did not work the whole visit. They tried to fix it, but no luck. Internet is very sporadic and weak. All of the staff were very nice and tried to be accommodating for every need. The room was very affordable when compared to other places in Treasure Island. So, if you are looking for an affordable and clean room, this is a good place. If you are looking for more luxury, book somewhere else.

Right on the beach in a good location. Walls are super thin so heard everything the neighbors were saying. The beds were so uncomfortable and I think the fan needed a new filter (very stuffy). The bathtub had stains and the overall cleanliness was just okay.

Very nice hotel, been in Treasure Island for 74 years and is very old retro style hotel. Had a room with an Amazing view of the Gulf, short walk to the beach. Would stay there again

great stay, hotel is cleam but needs updated. No bugs. that was great.

The management was very nice. The property is very dated and in need of repairs.
