West Side YMCA

The very unpleasant staff. They gave me a room that didn't match any of the rooms. The one they finally gave me was dirty and did not match the type of superior room I had requested. I was told that I had no choice. I asked to be cleaned of the extremely dirty floor. The cleaning women refused. I will never set foot in this hotel again and I recommend avoiding it.

Considering how inexpensive the room was, I was pleased with my experience.

Love the YMCA and now am a repeat guest. The facilities are great; room was clean, towels provided also a mini frig. The private bathrooms down the hall are serviced frequently and are kept very clean. There can be a rush for use of the bathrooms during prime times (early morning, 10 pm bedtime). The location is perfect for my stay in NYC.

Absolutely revolting. Would not stay here again. The only pro: good wifi, great location. Cons: bathrooms are feral, like could not use. I generally would search the floors for a useable one, but it was very rarely available. Yes they are cleaned, but four toilets for a floor of maybe 30 rooms with 2 people each is simply not feasible. Walls are paper thin, beds are terribly uncomfortable. Staff are very unfriendly and not helpful.
