Terrific in every way, except not "green" friendly
The Shangri-La Toronto is, mostly, a wonderful experience from the porters' greetings at the front door, easy/quick check-in, a large, lovely lobby (often with live music in the late afternoon or evening), comfortable rooms/beds and a terrific downtown location. HOWEVER, they seem to make very little attempt at helping the environment; very disappointing. There is a card to leave on the bed, so minimize sheet changing, but they change towels daily (not even offering an option, if you'd like to reuse them) and bath products still come in the plastic bottles (without even an option for a "green" choice). I hate to imagine what happens behind the scenes. I hope they will come into the 21st-century and change these practices, then the hotel would be perfect!

We had an amazing overnight stay to celebtrate my wife's birthday. At check-in, we were offered an upgrade to the Shangri La Suite for a very reasonable amount. We accepted the upgrade, and It was the nicest hotel suite we have ever stayed in (at least outside of Las Vegas)! the service was outstanding as well, from check in right through check out.

AMAZING!
Our stay here was awesome. Probably the best service we have ever received at any of the hotels we have stayed at and we have stayed at some pretty nice ones. Overall I would rate this place 10 out of 10. It was an exceptional experience!

The Shangri-La was incredible. The service was top notch. We received an upgrade as well as personalized anniversary gifts.
