Barceló Hamburg

The staff at the reception desk where exceptionally friendly and helpful. The cleaners we have met where very friendly as well. The only downside of the hotel was the temperature of the room. It was very warm and the airconditioning was not working. At night it was too noisy to leave the window open (with cars driving down the side road as fast as they can) but too warm to not have it open. But overall it was a pleasant stay with an amazing standard of the rooms. We loved the bathroom.

I like the clean design, the service was good, the Basic Internet was just fine. For me the location was great--close to the train station but easily walkable to the more interesting parts (the hotel itself is not in a particularly interesting area, mostly offices). The room, while not particularly hot, was too warm for the down comforters (there is no top sheet--only a down duvet and its cover)--an annoyance that is becoming more and more prevalent in hotels. Opening the window (it opens a little) helped a little, but in the end I removed the duvet and just used its cover as a top sheet.

Gorgeous unique bathroom. Very comfortable large bed. Excellent cleaning facilities and very helpful staff.

We have stayed at the hotel before and chose it again as we were happy with our previous stay. However, the service has deteriorated, the reception staff is rude and does not care to do a good job and is not service minded at all. The only good thing about the hotel is the location but that is not good enough to return again.

Just back from a 2-night stay in Barcelo Hamburg to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Arrived late on Friday night and despite having emailed Hotel earlier in the week to advise that we would be arriving late and would be celebrating our anniversary, was a little disappointed they did not even acknowledge my email. Check-in was fine and room was clean enough. Bar prices a bit expensive. Breakfast had a decent choice and location is good as well, as we were a short walk to the main train station, main shopping street and also the Europa Passage shopping centre.

Great hotel, great central location

I had a wounderful room, facing the pond. Very kind staff, large variety tasty buffet breakfast. Location is perfect.

Great location. Paid extra for a superior room! Took 3 requests and 2 days to get air conditioning fixed. Plenty of coffee shops locally, much better than very expensive hotel breakfast.

Contemporary, central Hotel, nice lobby suitable for a meeting
