Paradise Resort Club and Spa

Reception was friendly and pointed us in the direction of the elevators from the free underground parking, However the elevator was broken down and remained so while we stayed there. Reception weren’t aware of this. The room keys didn’t work and upon returning to reception it took a while to raise someone. In fact every time we went to reception there was someone new there and didn’t know who we were.. When we finally got in to the room it was spacious and the idea of the kitchen was great. However the appliances were aging and all were very noisy. A constant electrical hum from the switchboard and no sound proofing from room upstairs made the apartment noisy. There was no heating vent in the bedroom & leaky window made the bedroom cold. Fireplace would not turn on & tv remote didn’t work. Reception didn’t tell us about a resort fee which appeared unexpectedly on our credit card bill after we returned home. So while the location was very scenic and spa pool was great, overall it was expensive for what we got and wasn’t a great experience.

The air conditioner didn't work, only winter bedding available. The couch was a pull out couch but the seat cushions were so worn down you couldn't sit on the couch without metal bars digging into your legs. The showers had all the bells and whistles but you couldn't turn the heat of the water down. It was either very hot or extremely hot. Finding the reception area was difficult. Had to ask another hotel how to get there.

There is no receptionist during the night.

We have enjoyed every moment of our stay at Paradise Resort Club. We are celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary with our adult son and his girlfriend; our condo apartment has accommodated us well. On our arrival, the main bedroom was given that extra care and attention in acknowledgement of our celebrations, which was thoughtful. We requested an apartment with a balcony and a mountain view away from the hustle and bustle and that's what we got. We were invited to free BBQ and drinks on Thursday and Satuday nights, which we took advantage of once. The food was basic but the drinks and hospitality was welcoming. As was the free coffee offered each morning. We think the resort is part of a time-share but we didn't once feel 'sold' too; the facilities sell themselves. Our resort was part of two on the same property - Paradise @ Grande Rockies Resort and Sunset Resort - so we had access to the facilities of two resorts for the price of one. We couldn't get reasonably priced 2 bedroom accommodation in Banff when we were looking so ended up booking this in Canmore. We are so glad we did cause for the price it felt like a 5 star resort. Canmore itself is a beautiful location, close to Banff, and all the touristy locations. We are sad to say this is our last day. Do yourself a favor and book your family in next time you are in Canmore.
