Dolgun Uchaf Guesthouse

A tidy guest house with reasonable spec. Very clean. One thing to note is that it is said to be 'pet friendly' on hotels.com but in fact this is only partially the case. Some rooms are in the house and dogs are not allowed in these - so best to check first. We would stay again - it is handy for Dolgellau and Barmoth.

Staff helpfull, clean and great location.would go back next time . Short distance to bars.

The location was idyllic to say the least, arrived and rewarded with a pot of tea and welsh cakes, room very clean and tidy, breakfast was superb, just what the doctor ordered I would gladly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a charming residence in a beautiful part of North Wales

I stayed with my friend and my two dogs. We had a beautiful separate room with a huge en-suite and a fenced in area for the dogs. It was perfect!

The accommodation was perfect for me and my husband. It was warm, comfortable, peaceful and spacious. The breakfast was also delicious.

Beautiful property in idyllic location. Excellent room service and breakfast provided by friendly and obliging staff. Family room no. 8 provided excellent value with separate bedroom and living area with kitchen. Accessed by staircase but similar family room (no. 5) available on ground floor if stairs present difficulty. We shall definitely book here again when visiting Dolgellau area.

Amazing stay over the last few days, the room was beautiful and we had no complaints at all, breakfast was filling with a good choice and the room was cleaned every day, we would definitely recommend this to friends and come again

I know this Hotel guesthouse has many great reviews, but we didn‘t feel like it was an 4 star guesthouse. The good things first. Everything was clean and the location is quite and beautiful. The shower was more powerful than imagined it to be for an old cottage. The not so good was that we hardly slept as the mattress was just too soft for us and every little move you made woke up your partner. Breakfast wasn’t very tasty, with cheap tasting sausages. You would of expected better quality sausages in a place that has 4 stars. One day the big tea pod had only one teabag in it, which made the tea taste week. Staff didn’t bother to ask if everything was OK. Eggs were undercooked. Muffins that were available, not sure how old they were but they tasted stale on our first day, and they remained on display for another 3 days. We used our towels more than once. Hang them up, but when we needed new towels we threw them on the floor as instructed by a sign, but they never got changed. It was too late in the day to do anything about it. Maybe our expectations were just too high for a 4 star establishment.
