Hilton New York Fashion District

I booked the room and called to check about the comfort of the bed. The desk person, said it was their famous "Hilton Mattress" or something like that; which made me happy---we had stayed at a double tree a few weeks ago, and the bed was PERFECT! The chamber said it was their famous Hilton mattress..... This mattress was soft, as we were staying two nights; I asked the front desk if there was anything they could do...they directed me to house keeping. I had to leave a message. There was no follow up by house keeping or the front desk. Nothing was done, and night 2 resulted in a morning back ache. It just would have been appropriate to follow up with me.

So tiny.. This is a very tiny hotel building, and I think I had too high expectation about Hilton based on my previous experience. No soundproof. I could hear people talking in the aisle and also upstairs. No view and privacy either. There was office bldg right next to us and I had to put down curtains all the time as people in the bldg could see us through the window. Maybe next time I will pay a bit more to stay in other hotels.

Zero privacy! That’s how I would rate our stay. Why bother putting the do not disturb sign on the dot, if you are going to come in?! Maybe next time give your clients a warning that you don’t care about their privacy so they can decide if they want to stay at this hotel or not. Also, maybe next time keep in mind that cups and lids with one time use should be replaced before a new client gets into the room. This was for sure not a huge deal breaker but it would have been nice to have new ones not used ones. To summarize, I recommend staying here if you don’t have a problem with people not carrying about your needs. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep, you might however find a better deal.

No food on site available Beds squishy - need to be replaced! People and service excellent!

Finding a hotel room for ~ $100 / night in NY is rare, but I don’t think this would be rated a 4-star by most. Good value though not quite as good as it looked from reviews. Very nice staff
