Not to great of a stay. Atlest the heater worked.. there was gum in the shower bobbypins all over the floors. The spot vaccumed . Pubic hairs on both beds. Door handle broke off. Plug box domt work.

It was a great trip. This is my favorite place to stay in Springfield

I grew up just down Sunshine from this hotel so it made sense to give it a go on my nostalgic return trip. It was okay, definitely nothing fancy at all. Check-In was pleasant enough. The room had a very strong, very musty smell and the hotel in general was showing its age. I had a king bed room and the mattress was very very uneven. There was just barely enough room in the bathroom to stretch out. All told, though, I didn’t expect much more. I just needed an affordable, safe place to crash for a few nights while I relived my childhood memories, and the Lamplighter was those things. I wouldn’t stay there if I wasn’t alone, and I certainly wouldn’t bring my family there, but for just me, it was exactly what I hoped it would be.

The young man was very rude an treated me like he didn't want to help me . Quickly told me i had a room an it was paid for . Which i paid for my sister it was not for me But he told me he could not accommodate me because I had a Springfield address an that i could not get this room for my sister even though she was from Florida . Plus i contacted Expedia an they have not let me know if or when i will receive my money since i wasn't able to get the room, because of his attitude with me at the front desk.

-Roach on the wall. -Water from the faucets and shower constantly cycling from hot to cold to hot to cold, even the cold water side. -The slow sink drain that took 30 seconds to drain maybe a quart of water that easily backed up due to the slow drain. -The broken slide door lock hanging from its screws. -The gaps all around the door casing big enough to see through from the hallway. -No hot breakfast as advertised. It was an orange, a muffin, and a small protein bar in a brown paper bag. And coffee in a tiny styrofoam cup. -The room behind the hallwall exit sign that looked like a back room in a tire shop. -a flophouse air accentated by shouting from multiple rooms and wandering hotel guests who looked drugged and seemed to be wearing the same clothing that got them banned from Walmart. The staff shouldn't be blamed for the false advertising. The room, except the filthy carpet, was clean. The front desk was helpful. Next door, shared parking lot, the hotel owners built a new luxury hotel that is in stark contrast to this dilapidated 70-year-old city landmark. The Lamplighter surely must be a tax write-off that will never be improved in this lifetime.

This is an older property but well-maintained from what we could see. There was no hot breakfast, which is understandable. The room was clean and very spacious. The only complaint about this trip was that it’s next to some sort of night spot and it was very loud outside the hotel on Saturday night.

Check in staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The room however was a bit dated, the vent in the bathroom was didn’t work and was hanging from the ceiling. There were roaches in the bathroom as well. The stucco on the walls cracked and falling off. The tv kept changing channels on its own and would also lose signal a lot. The bed was comfortable but the recliner needs to be taken out because it was dirty and old. However, it was a place to lay our heads and get showers.
