Beautifully Appointed, Friendly Welcome, Great Cof
The Dalmore Lodge Guest House was great. We received a really friendly welcome from Iain, the room was very well appointed and comfortable with a private bathroom, breakfast was well made with a reasonable range of options and good coffee. What really impressed me was the size and quality of the room - everything was very tasteful and we even had a small balcony which we sat out on on the Saturday evening (as long as the weather permitted!) It is close to an excellent Chinese restaurant (Cool Jade - go, seriously) and is directly opposite Edinburgh Zoo, however if I was to make one observation it's that there didn't seem to be much else in the immediate vicinity by way of diversion or restaurants. However as we were largely there on business it was a great base to access the city centre, and I'd have absolutely no hesitation staying there again. Iain very kindly allowed us to use their car park while we went to the zoo after we checked out, and this is one example of the great customer service that was the hallmark of our stay.

Weekend in Edinburgh
We had a very comfortable stay with Iain and Dot and were made very welcome, so much so, have already booked our next stay with them. The decor is of a very good standard, comfortable beds and excellent food.

A Gem perfect for visiting the zoo
We stayed here on friday night before we planned on visiting the zoo, which is literally on the doorstep. The manager was charming and made every effort to make our stay as best he could. The room was stunning and breakfast was top notch. Will deffinetly want to come back next year

Stayed one night here when visiting Murrayfield for rugby. Within walking distance of ground and also right opposite Edinburgh Zoo which I visited following day.

Well priced and well located!
Very good location, directly across the road from the zoo. 15 mins on a bus from Edinburgh city centre, with buses running every 5 mins even at unsociable times which was very handy. Owners were very pleasant and helped us with bus info and the property itself although small, was very well maintained and no street noise could be heard. Would definitely stay here when visiting Edinburgh again.
