Exceptionally rude & unprofessional receptionist
Really rude receptionist who checked me in on Thursday 22nd at 1:30pm . She was extremely rude and unprofessional . The guy that works reception at night time is pure excellence . I asked for a 1pm checkout and was granted it . The hotel knocks at my door at 12:30pm and I explained I had a 1pm checkout , they said no problem . At 12:45pm the same girl that checked me in called the hotel room and was exceptionally rude to me . She told me checkout was 12pm , I explained I'd be leaving in 5 minutes as was granted a 1pm checkout , she rudely suggested that I would have to pay a late checkout fee which I did not accept . When I went downstairs to leave the keys , I went over to speak to her , she looked up at me and said Cody will check you out and walked into the back room . So unbelievably rude and unprofessional . Cody was lovely and ordered me a taxi . While I was waiting on the couch near reception for my taxi the other girl came out from the back room & was complaining and moaning loudly about other quests staying in the hotel. I actually couldn't believe my ears and she was been so bossy to Cody and given her orders. She should not be working in the hospitality industry . This was the worst hotel experience of my life . I give the Clayton brand a lot of my business and this experience has made me rethink hotel options across Ireland . I've started in hotels 38 nights since since this January . "Make your customers raving fans and you'll have loyalty for life"

A lovely hotel with fantastic view of the port area. The restaurant is situated next to the dock area with fantastic views over the water. the food was good and well presented and the whole area was clean.

Our stay was just overnight to attend a family event.Hotel was warm & comfortable,very comfy bed,large room with a wonderful river/city view.Storage space ie hanging space for clothes is very limited,washbasin tap does not clear granite,therefore is difficult to access & leaks into surrounding area.Toilet was difficult to flush.On reporting this on checkout,receptionist removed parking fee...a nice touch!We would certainly stay in the Clayton again.
