Good enough.

It's a little bit shabby, but perfectly fine. The location is away from the majority of attractions.

Location in the middle of nowhere, 30 min from Jabiru. No mobile phone service except for Telstra. No Wi-Fi unless bought prepaid from 3rd party at $40/GB. Bathroom crawling with tiny ants and flies. Spider nest on door jamb, dead insect in shower, shower curtain 1ft too long for tub, water controls needing constant adjustment due to declining pressure. Bathroom in general state of age decay, countertop separating, tub falling apart, bathroom corners uncleaned in years, ground water unfit for untreated drinking (staff admitted), room air conditioner ran with loud whine, TV smaller than most laptop screens, remote control that didn't work, controls on television that didn't work or did opposite of intended purpose (+volume actually decreased, -volume also decreased), jail style florescent room lighting. When trying to shorten stay and reduce booking to two nights, reception staff refused and said it must be done thru Expedia. Call Expedia (wonderful service actually) to change booking length, they immediately call reception to request (while keeping on call) Aurora reception refuses to change reservation without manager approval. Expedia asks for manager, they say he's gone home already (5pm). Expedia asks for his direct office number to leave a message, reception refuses. Expedia asks reception to pass along message to manager to request booking change. Next morning I visit reception, two receptionists claim no knowledge of any request by Expedia to change booking.

Edge of Kakadu motel

Resort is a bit run down with a cafe and some accommodation blocks closed. However our rooms were spacious and comfortable. Service was good and evening meals at the restaurant quite good and value for money. The resort is some distance from main Kakadu attractions but there are some nice walks and birdwatching nearby.

Clean basic accommodation, but located away from the main visitor attractions/walking sites. Pool area looked very different from the photograph, disappointing. Cafe and bistro restaurant closed in July. Only cafeteria style buffet open.

This is one of the few hotels in Kakadu National Park. We were happy with the accommodation. The upstairs room we got was of a good size. Air conditioning worked well. The outdoor pool was refreshing.There is a tennis court on the property which is useless. Most guests want to explore the area and this is a good basis. We went to the Yellow Water billabong for the 9 o'clock cruise. It was due-able and the accommodation much cheaper than the Cooinda Lodge.

Room was clean. Outdoor plastic seats were filthy. Patio and surrounds were very untidy with leaf litter and bird droppings. Dinner and breakfast were good. Overall, expensive for what you get.
