Star Island Resort and Club

Check in process is flawed. They don’t know how to assign rooms and definitely prioritize guests that booked with them over Hotels.com customers. They put me in handicap room without notice which didn’t have same amenities as others. When asked to switch rooms they said they were sold out, but it was early in the day so they could have moved us and gave to someone not looking for amenities in room. They didn’t even have anyone answering phones when Hotels.com tried to call them for almost an hour, even front desk against couldn’t reach operator to find out what was happening with phones.

DO NOT STAY HERE if you are in a wheelchair or scooter! We were in the 3 bedroom unit and NONE of the 3 toilets will allow a wheelchair up to it. I missed out on several fun activities with my family because many of the amenities are not wheelchair accessible (mini golf, driving range, game room) I could only find one gate that my scooter would go through to get to the lobby and to do that I had to go through the entire pool area/deck AND I couldn't reach the latch on my own. I approached 2 different gates that were closer to my room and BOTH had stairs or a step up. There are buildings with NO ELEVATORS, so ASK before booking! As far as the room goes the beds are like sleeping on the floor. 2 of my kids ended up sleeping on the sleeper sofas because they were more comfortable than ANY of the beds. The couches and chairs were no better. There was literally NOTHING in the unit that was comfortable. Applicances are OLD and NOISY! 2nd bathroom showerhead leaks onto the floor. Hot and Cold are backwards on master shower knob. Carpets are OLD and NASTY! Walls so thin we could hear people all night. After the first night I went to the front desk to ask if we could get out of at least the last night we had booked due to the accessibility issue and was told no. The ONLY thing positive I can say about the resort is that the grounds are well kept and pretty and Alisa in the pool/game hut was amazing! In a nutshell, I wouldn't stay here again IF IT WAS FREE!

Was given a room on the third floor and building had no elevator. Maintenance needs to keep up with the rooms.

I really enjoy staying at this resort, clean, safe, I did not get to enjoy the amenities because it was an overnight stay but it look like fun.

Extremely noisy

The rooms were dated and could use some remodeling. The resort and club were not very accommodating for a later check out which was disappointing.

The Resort is beautiful and I have stayed here before July 2019. This time it was for one night and it was great except for a few things. (1) when I checked in I asked when and where is breakfast and the answer was we don't do breakfast you would have to go off site for that. (2) Room Service is also contracted off site and requires at least a 20 dollar minimum to order. (3) The jacuzzi tub which is great and big only puts out so much hot water, so by the time you reach a good water level the water is cold.

The resort was amazing! Very clean and beautiful grounds.

It's was great! The room was extremely clean and the people were amazing!! They really take customer service to the next level!
