Homewood Suites by Hilton St. Louis Westport

I was happy with the hotel overall however I booked a room with 2 beds & a pullout sofa and was told all they had was 1 bed and pullout sofa rooms and then blamed it on hotels.com. they did offer an extra room across the hall to try and make it right and would have taken it if my children were a little older. but all in all it was a good hotel would stay there again if in the area.

leisure trip to St. Louis. Hotel was beautiful, staff was amazing. I was only able to take advantage of the breakfast a few times during my week stay and it was really good, but I did not experience the evening social. I was alerted at check in by my credit card company about the room charge. I booked through Hotels.com and I had a confirmation for one amount, plus a confirmation for a King room. When I got to my room it was not a King nor did the front desk bother to say they didn't have any available. I guess that is not a big deal but the charge at check in was a little higher than what was confirmed and the answer was that the hotel itself charges a higher tax than Hotels.com. I thought once I confirmed for a price that was it. Ok when I checked out I saw a charge for "Suite Shop" so I asked what that was and they said it was a purchase for Beer and snack at the hotel gift shop. First off I did not visit the gift shop not one time during the 7 days and secondly I don't drink. Third, they have free social hour every evening with beer/wine, etc so who would buy a beer when they are giving it away? I called the hotel and questioned the charge and the staff was kind and credited the amount back to my card.

The hotel is centrally located and was perfect for our family shopping trip. However, the suite was not clean when we arrived. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and trash in and under the fold up couch. There were not enough towels for all of us- only 4 bath towels in a suite?? And one extra pillowcase for the two pillows for fold up couch, no fitted sheet just a flat sheet and thin blanket. The morning staff was very pleasant. The ladies that run the breakfast are fantastic and very friendly! The evening staff could take lessons. We asked for silverware since there were only spoons in the suite and the front desk man only wanted to give us two sets. When I asked for 5 he seemed put out so I didn't ask for more towels or sheets/pillowcases for fold up couch. Only one elevator so if you're at the back of the hotel you walk a lot to get to the lobby. Overall nice hotel. Just needs some help.
