The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences

We asked for a bellman upon leaving. After 15 minutes no one showed up. After calling and told he would be right up, we waited another 15 minutes. We ended up dragging our luggage do to the lobby ourselves. Not a way to run a first class hotel. This was our first stay at your hotel and probably our last.

A reasonably nice, small hotel but with very poor service throughout or stay. To start with the service in the bar was dreadful, It took more than 45 minutes to get our first drink (after asking several times) and then when our food arrived we only had half of it, they then took another 10-15 minutes to get us the rest. Very much over priced for what we had, £115 for an average bottle of wine , glass of wine, bottle of bear an one lot of canapes. The room service was not much better, on an evening it wasn't too bad, but breakfast in the room was dreadful service. half an hour late on two occasions and on the one they only delivered half the order on another they charged almost £100 for 2 English Breakfasts, which we didn't get a bill to sign until we checked out. We did complain at check out and they did deduct the charges from the bill, but I'd prefer to pay the full price and get good service. The room was reasonable, not very big, but clean and modern, We had a terrible view overlooking a side street and a massive pile of rubbish, which never got moved. There are much better 5 star hotels in the area, Plus it's very much over priced for what you get. I'm sorry to say it's the worst 5 star hotel we've stayed in, you should expect a great deal more from a 5 star hotel in London.

Great - only complaint was we wished staff was more familiar with area - we could have used restaurant recommendations the first night

Awesome staff and awesome hotel in a great location.

Great location and great staff. Rooms are nice. Bar has great cocktails. Not great at reviews but, in simple terms, stay here if you have the budget.
