Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Beckley, WV

The hotel was in the process of renovations. Our beds were uncomfortable. In need of replacement. Outlets did not hold a plug, so it was challenging trying to charge our phones. Towels were small and one was dirty that was placed in the bathroom. Shower/tub did not drain properly. No linen on pull out sofa. We had to move rooms due to a previous guest smoking in the room and the smoke detector was coved up with a plastic garbage bag. The front desk attend was not wearing a mask during check in or when he came into my room to check out the smoke detector. He was nice, but was not following the states required mask mandate. We saw the same employee the following day, sans mask again. All other employees were wearing a mask. Employee stated to me that the residents of WV were "over it" and the only places that would give me a hard time about not wearing a mask would be Walmart and Starbucks. Breakfast was served by hotel employees. They were wearing masks and gloves. Pool/hot tub was open. Water was over chlorined, to the point where it burned my hands that are pretty from the winter. Side entrance into hotel was propped open with a rock, so anyone could just walk in.

Our room had two televisions and zero remotes but this was the least of our worries. There was obvious blood splatter on the inside of the bathroom door and huge stains on the sheets. Everything in the room just looked old and rundown. Between the blood and stains, there was no way we were staying at this hotel. The boy working the desk was very nice about it and apologized and gave us a refund. We went across the street to the Hampton Inn and it was very clean!

Overall a decent experience. The main issue we had was that they kept running out of towels! How does a hotel run out of towels? We had our family of 6 and could not all have clean towels for the 2 nights we were there. The tub didn’t drain well, but that was a minor inconvenience.

We had suite #100 a “pet friendly” suite. Location of room in proximity to outside was fantastic! That is where it ended. The room was old & dirty. One of the beds had a mattress protector on it because the mattress was so stained. Beds uncomfortable and old. Bathroom was old and outdated as was the furniture. Flooring was dirty, as was appliances. The hotel overall from the outside looked nice. Renovations were going on, however, I don’t feel that if you are charging the same fee for a pet friendly room that the room should be so inferior. I’m glad it was only a nights stay as I did not even use the shower as it was dirty. Overall just not a good experience.

Motel room was clean and beds comfortable.

The breakfast I didn’t like but that’s just my opinion others might like it also I was itching a lil bit but the customer service was wonderful

It was ok, just a quick stop to break up driving on a trip....not the cleanest and beds were super soft. But it was fine, and the young man at the desk was very nice.

There was construction going on at the hotel but overall the lobby was fairly clean. Room was ok, would have expected better cleaning with Covid. Beds were NOT comfortable! One had a dip in the center of the bed, the other mattress was lopsided. I have stayed at several Country Inns and this was my least favorite.

Couldn’t have been more pleased!
