Nice hotel outside of historic area.
Location has good views, but not walkable to historic area. Our suite was large and nice. Biggest negative was we did have used towels left in our room from the previous guest.

Beautiful view of the harbor. The room and bath were spacious. The room was clean; the hotel/room shows some age/usage. Close enough to historic district for a long walk; also convenient drive to parking garages.

I checked in and was told by the front desk girl to just book “any” room and she would upgrade me to the 4th floor water view because she Shang know how to walk in a client. I ended up with a view of the highway and not the room I was promised, when I complained she got very rude and threatening

We had a wonderful stay at the Marriott Courtyard in Charleston! It was conveniently located to downtown, wish we loved! Definitely will stay there again!

Was great to have a balcony to watch the sunsets night and take part of the patio with the lounge chairs. It's a couple of miles from downtown, so good to note if you've never been to Charleston before.

Hidden charges...
This property charges for parking in their own lot. Not a big deal. They don't tell you and then you get the charge a few days after your stay. Not a very friendly staff when you have a question.

Musky and moldy. There are dehumidifiers in the corridors. Room smelled musky. Asked to have room sprayed, no help. Restaurants were closed and there are not many options close by.

If you an stay somewhere else...DO IT!
We arrived to our room to find tools in the floor and the balcony door open. During our stay, one of the two elevators were constantly not working and we got stuck on one. The pool was not heated. The hotel staff informed us that the hot tub had not been working in months. The electrical room door was open and the electrical box did not have a cover on it. The vending machine on the 2nd floor did not work properly. We had to call down and have someone come up to reset our TV twice because it would not change channels. The restaurant was not open 2 of the days that we were guests in the hotel. The only thing I can say positive about the stay is the fact that the staff were pleasant.
