This beautiful hotel is located right on the edge of the St. Mark's Basin, just a two minutes walk from St. Mark's Square. It is beautifully furnished, and has a delightful breakfast room both inside and also outside on the covered terrace. A very good selection on the breakfast buffet. The restaurant is also open for afternoon tea and evening dinner until late. It's position is truly excellent as there is a vaporetto stop directly outside the hotel, and anyway the best way to see the city is on foot.

This was a very nice hotel. The desk staff were very helpful throughout. Breakfast was decent although americano coffee a bit watery and bread could be better but fruit cheese and meats all very nice and the view from the outside seating across the water was super. One strange thing at the end was that we booked a water taxi to airport which they gladly arranged. The boat was marked with the hotel name so seemed to be their own boat, but they were unsure whether the charge would be added to our hotel bill or be paid directly to the driver. The night before they advised us it would be added to the bill but when the bill was produced at the last moment of checkout they said boat was cash only and didnt provide bill for it let alone include it on the main hotel bill. This could have been awkward if I had not had the large amount of cash required with no notice and seemed strange behaviour for a reputable hotel.

The Hotel is right at the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop, a couple of minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. It is also very beautiful inside, with ornate Murano glass light fixtures in the room, and an elegant lobby. The staff was extremely helpful with everything from transportation questions,often complicated in Venice, to information about sights and activities. Just a wonderful stay for us, right in the heart of historical city! My only warning to readers is that the free tour to a Murano glass factory resulted in some very high-pressure sales techniques. I suggest just going to Murano on a Vaporetto (very reasonable if you get the multiple day pass) and exploring the shops and Glass Museum on your own.
