We had hoped this hotel was going to enjoyable, but very disappointing. We normally stay at the hotel down the street but really wanted to give this one a try. The second we walked in the lobby, we were greeted with a look of we were bothering. We walked in and there was already a hanger on the floor, out of all the rooms (most were vacant) we got the one with a roof view. We ordered food from a restaurant down the street and the restaurant didn’t provide any silverware, we called down to see if they had anything. Plastic fork, spoon, napkins anything but no nothing and usually they have a restaurant and bar open. Like you can’t find anything!!! We later called down for an extra pillow and 45 minutes later it arrives and when we said thank you all we got was a grunt. The last thing, I woke up and walked across the floor for some water and I stepped on broken glass! Will never stay here again
I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Sheraton in Agoura Hills. We had a reservation, did not check in late and we were put in a room directly behind the elevator. We heard the elevator vibration through our bed EACH.AND.EVERY.TIME someone used the elevator. We could not fall asleep until after midnight when most guests turned in for the evening. In addition, the Following morning, housekeeping knocked in our door at 11:20am to clean the room (Check out is 12 noon) When he saw we were not yet gone, he had the audacity to ask how much longer we would be. When I advised the clerk at check out that considering the fact the hotel wasn’t booked at capacity, why would a guest be put in a room right next to the elevator considering that’s notoriously the room with the most disturbances, she gave the room excuse that the hotel only has half the rooms available at this time. If that’s the case, only the best rooms should be available especially considering there are no other amenities available due to Covid. I fully understand it is not the hotels fault that all other hotel amenities such as the gym, bar and room service are not available; but at the very least, DO NOT put them in room next to the elevator and DO NOT have staff knock on doors prior to check out. It’s rude. I’m so put off by this hotel and it’s staff, I will NEVER be returning and recommend visitors to go to the Marriott just down the street.
Check in was okay. Restaurants and bar closed, lights off. Hand sanitizer stations and plastic barriers in place. Room on first floor reeked of cigarette smoke at 6am waking us up. Air conditioning unit old and falling apart. Dirty carpet in corners of room with dust debris and dead bug. Beds comfortable. No movie rentals, no food service. Small shop with snacks and drinks downstairs near check in. $4 for water bottle in room. Changed rooms. Next room still dirty. Permanently Locked sliders doors. No fresh air. No bathroom ventilation.
It was ok. The location was great but that’s really it for me. I get with times that the restaurant is closed but room service should be available. The bathroom has no ventilation system in place. The door doesn’t even have a latch to stay open. Which is awful after taking a shower and trying to get ready, going number 2, your partner going number 2! And it insures mold. I didn’t see mold to be clear but I’m sure they paint over. Not sure if that disturbs me more. We got a great deal this weekend and nothing was the end of the world but I think without the affordability we wouldn’t aim to stay there again.
I had two rooms 457/459 we rushed to hotel to watch Kentucky derby got up to the rooms and neither tv worked. we called down they sent a guy up and he could not get 459 tv to work but 15 min later he got 457 to work by that point the horse race was over and unfortunately was missed. he told us to leave 459 on for 20 min cause he was rebouting it. we came back to room an hour later and still not working so we called again. a handyman came up and looked at it and said give it an hour and it will be fine. we left again came back and tv was still not working so we called again and they said someoe would be right up. no one came so we went to dinner and came back 3 hours later tv still not working we called again and they apologized that no one ever came up and they would send someone up immediately. I sayed up until 1;30 and no one ever showed up. this is a horrible customer experience and there is no excuse for it.
I’ve stayed here on a few occasions and the value is undeniable. The rooms are cozy and clean enjoy the Starbucks coffee in my room. Very quiet setting not to mention the bar in the lobby is a plus . Just minutes away from downtown Ventura and beaches . Dinning nearby is a plus!
Horrible stay. No hot water on our floor for 2 days and no air when it was 117 degrees out. Ruined our entire trip. Called repeatedly to get a repair man up but none ever came. Was told at checkout a manager would be calling but haven’t received a phone call yet. Absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT RECCOMENF
Busy weekend due to the long holiday, but we enjoyed our stay. Beds were comfy, it was quiet, had some much needed R&R.
