Barcelona City Hotel (Hotel Universal) - Barcelona

I stayed here for several days with friends. It was a great location. right next to the great shopping a short walk to the center of the city. The metro station was a block away and easily accessible. the staff was friendly and helpful. They had a map of the city and advice on where to go. The hotel is in a large building occupying the 2nd and 3rd floors. […] It is also along a main street. The only major con was the early morning and late night traffic that flows on the street of the corner of the hotel. It was sometimes very loud early in the morning. The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is a very basic hotel with wifi- but for barcelona prices it was very reasonable for the location Lisateave

Hotel Universal was a great place for me to stay in during my visit to Barcelona. Its location is excellent and the ratio of price to quality was good . Although more expensive than other cities in Spain, by the standards of Barcelona it was a good deal.

The hotel was fine for what you pay, but the noise from the stairs/other rooms was really loud. We could hear the conversations in the next room, as well as toilet noises, and people walking on the stairs. We would not stay here again simply due to the noise. Hotel located.on one of busiest thoroughfares in Barcelona, rooms and beds minuscule not reflective at all of photos provided on site, staff English shabby at best, bathroom old with holes in tiles and not sure how the one star they claim was awarded. Plenty of cheaper pensions close by in equally central location with better facilities. Do not stay […] here. Lisateave

l'unica cosa che non mi è piaciuta è il fatto che l'hotel l'aveva pagato mio padre con la carta di credito perchè mi aveva fatto un regalo e quando sono arrivata mi hanno detto che avevano bisogno della copia della carta d'identità di mio padre con un' autorizzazione al pagamento. Ho dovuto farmi mandare tutto via e.mail e mi hanno richiesto finchè […] non gli è arrivata una caparra di altri 50 € oltre quelli che già avevano incassato un mese prima.Dovrebbero avvisare almeno via e.mail che se la persona che ha effettuato il,pagamento non è la stessa che poi va in vacanza c'è bisogno di quetsa autorizzazione. Consideriamo tutti i genitori che pagano i viaggi ai figli credo sia una cosa abbastanza ricorrente. Per cui un avviso mi sembra di obbligo. Lisateave
