"A nice hotel in an excellent location"
Arvustatud Hotels.com kliendi poolt veebr 19, 2013The location is superb as it's just across the park from the very main backpackers area, meaning that it's close enough to all of the bars and restaurants, yet far enough so the noise will not bother. We stayed there 2 times in different rooms and the first room that was on a higher floor was a lot better than the other room located on the 2nd floor. The only issue in the first room was that during the first 2 nights there was some kind of animal ( probably a rat ) crawling back and forth between the ceiling and floor above us. Breakfast area is very nice and a the selection in the buffet is pretty good. The staff is friendly, but don't take any of tours offered by the tour desk. Instead go out across the park, you'll get the same thing much cheaper from any of the tour offices there. Still overall a very nice hotel for the price.

Arvustatud Hotels.com kliendi poolt dets 12, 2012We stayed there 2 nights and as these were the last 2 nights for us in Vietnam, we wanted to have something a bit more luxurious. Grand Silverland Hotel room was big comparing to some other rooms we have stayed in Vietnam. The room is comfortable, we had a view straight to the golf course. The rooftop pool is small, but has a marvellous view and is big enough to spend some time sunbathing and to cool down in the water. Unfortunately the rooftop restaurant was under construction, but the pool bar sereves drinks and 1st floor restaurant is good to dine. They were even able to serve us the fresh coconut, which wasn't even in the menu. The service quality is very good, they provided us with a local map without even asking and warned us for pickpockets and told us to bargain prices on the market at least 30% which was a helpful hint for a tourist. We used the spa facilities as well and were happy with the service we got. And the pick-up and drop off service to and from airport is absolutely worth 5* - new, beautiful, air conditioned cars with decent drivers for a reasonable price. The only downside of our stay was the safe in the room which didn't work properly (if it finally locked, we had to try the correct code at least 15 times before we got to open it again). All in all, would definitely recommend to stay in Grand Silverland hotel and if once back in Vietnam, would stay there again.

For any travellers wishing to stay at this hotel let me list the good points:- Wi-Fi in room very good, TV channels excellent about 70 channels so something for everyone, located in a central part of district 1, we had a suite which is bigger than the normal room and asked for a room at the back which they gave us and even though the room had windows […] we couldnt hear any sounds at all. For bad points, the shower pressure is not good so goes from hot to cold all through the shower which isnt good for young children, some at reception speak good english but other personnel speak very little and understand less. "Clean, new and modern at a great price"
We stayed here for 3 nights and were very satisfied with the hotel. All the rooms and facilities look like new and are well maintained. The room is on the small side, but it has a large window, spacious and clean bathroom and all the amenities you would need for business or holiday travel, including cable TV! Breakfast was good, Vietnamese-style congee […] or noodles, or omelette for Western appetites. The location was also good, the street itself has a lot of high-street fashion stores like Mango, Diesel etc. and is about 15-20 mins walking distance to Dong Khai St or a $2 taxi ride. 1) Poor customer service - no appropriate service was rendered in light of the non functioning air-condition in the room. Downgraded without first informing us and didn't bother explain to us what went wrong and whether a relocation to another room will be happening. Stayed in a downgraded room but paid premium. 2) Location of hotel is good. In a heart […] of the city..walking distance to Bui Vien, Ben Thanh, Saigon Sq, Notre Dame. Its' a great choice for a hotel in Saigon. We have been in 4 different hotels in this city during the whole stay, and this is by far the best one we have stayed, and at the same price than the others. "Best 3 star hotel for the money in Saigon"
I am from the USA and have been living in Vietnam for 8 years. This hotel is the best value in Saigon. The rooms are small-medium but very clean and comfortable. The front desk often upgrades me when they do not have a double bed in the class I booked( always the small room) . Last time I was upgraded to the best room for this reason. Great location […] near Pham Ngu Lao, but on an upscale shopping street far enough away from all the scammers and criminals that infest Pham Ngu Lao. "Perfect location in HCMC, good value for money"
Clean hotel with friendly staff. Good sized rooms. Located perfect in HCMC - walking distance to most "must-sees"; 10 minute walk from Ben Thanh Market, 10 minute walk to Saigon River, 15 minute walk to War Museum. 25-30 minutes in taxi to airport. Breakfast is good with wide selection of "western" food; (scrambled eggs made upon request, omelettes, […] bacon, toast, baguettes. Wide selection of "eastern" breakfast as well (Phó, fried rice etc).
