"Walking distance of all sights"
Great stay!! Nice rooms and very friendly staff!! They acted as if they knew us forever!!
"Located right in the historic district"
Loved this hotel and will definitely stay again when in Savannah. Room had charm; bed very comfortable; hotel staff and owners personable and informative. Can walk anywhere from the hotel to sightsee. Would definitely recommend.
"Central Location"
It would have been nice to know that the B-n-B is considered Savannah's most haunted hotel, although I am not superstitious. The bed was a little uncomfortable but that is mostly due to the age of the place and the course sheets. It also would have been nice to have a window in the room. Otherwise the place was wonderful to stay at.
"Most enjoyable stay"
I found the hotel very clean. I did find the breakfast disappointing. It was packaged food. The courtesy of people who worked there was the best. Parking at night is in short supply. The hotel helped me find a closer spot. I did not have to pay for parking. You are convenient to excellant restaurants. Also, you can get the flavor of Savannah just outside […] your door. Also, the bar is very nice and friendly. If you are not a bar person, it is worth a visit. Lisateave
"Jels Review of 1790"
I have stayed at this hotel a few times. The capets could use changing and it does smell a bit musty. The cleaninless is not the best, you could see water stains in the shower glass door, tub could use updating too. The drawers were covered in dust making us want to avoid putting our clothes in there. The breakfast in the morning was a carbohydrate […] overload not so good if your diabetic or trying not to eat carbs and sugar. However, with that being said overall It's a great hotel, atmosphere and location. The staff is super helpful and display a great deal of hospitality always happy to help. It's in a great location as well and we have stayed there before and do come back fo the positive qualities. Lisateave

"Best place to stay in savannah!!!!!!!"
Close to everything, great views, large rooms, very hospitable. They do have very limited parking but Patrick made sure he found us a spot. He provided history of the inn and surrounding city. One of the only places that offers free Internet and free parking although limited. Upon check out they even let me stay in my free parking spot for a few hours. […] I left my cell phone charger in the room and came back to my car with a note in the windshield saying I forgot the charger. Very nice very caring staff. The room was not completely up to date but was wonderful. I'll definitely stay here and only here every time I'm in savannah. Lisateave
"Location and Ambiance"
17Hundred90 is the perfect location in Old Savannah. We stayed in the guesthouse, which is about half a block away from the inn. Our room 303 was on the 3rd floor and was an amazing suite containing a lovely living room furnished with antiques, a comfortable bedroom, and a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, shower, and fireplace mantle. It was one of […] the best places we have ever stayed. Breakfast was a bit disappointing with just bagels and sweet rolls. Dinner was fabulous. WiFi worked well and was free. The inn could use an exterior paint job. Lisateave
"Not so hot"
Gtreat location tremendous bar good service run down rooms we had a view of an inner hallway outside our window
"A good find"
The room (202) was quaint with plenty of space. There was a gas fireplace which we used for the ambiance. My only teeny, tiny complaint is that the bed was not the best mattress and the sofa springs.cushion were not in the best of shape. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a great alternative to your usual chain hotel. The continental breakfast was […] really limited but it was enough to tide us over until lunch. The restaurant in the hotel is fabulous--good food and charming atmosphere. Lisateave
"Great place to stay"
Service was outstanding. Staff was very helpful.location is within walking distance of all major stops. Restaurant in building for lunch and dinner. Recommend you make reservation for dinner as they are busy. Food is very good. Only down size is no elevator. You need to use steps to reach rooms.

Very charming old inn in awesome location.
"Great little Hotel"
The Hotel is a jewel, very nice the only thing we did not like, there where no windows in the room, it was completely dark. The next time we stay there I have to make sure we get a room with windows, please mention that in your description. Breakfast is not sufficient.
"Old but comfortable"
We chose to stay in this hotel at the last minute and were not disappointed. We were able to nab a free parking place (limited spaces) and knew there would be no elevators. The room (202) had a nice skylight and comfortable bed. Bath drain ran slowly and carpet had some stains, but hey, it´s an old place. We enjoyed dinner there as well, with a couple […] free drinks. The hotel is known to be haunted, but we didn´t hear or see anything unusual. It is in a great location for walking around Savannah´s historic district. Lisateave
""Haunted stay" in 206"
Spent one night in Room 206 on April 1-2, 2012. Pros: - Location was excellent, very walkable to all the best parts of the city (which is why I chose it). - Very hospital Inn-keepers, personally walk you to your room. - Historic charm. Oldest functioning inn in Savannah, Ga. Cons: - Continental breakfast is "so-so" containing cold items such as cereal […] and bagels. - Room 206 has no windows, only a skylight that broke in the middle of the night (could not close). Now I'm not one to believe in ghosts. I was not concerned booking since I read that the room with the most activity is Room 204, but upon entering Room 206, we automatically felt an "eerie" feeling, even though it was daytime. I kept waking up in the middle of the night feeling as though I was being watched, and normally I am a very deep sleeper. Without knowledge of the history of the inn, my boyfriend later confessed to me that when he went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, he felt as though something was staring at him, and he saw in the mirror a shadow-y figure. It had frightened him so much that he quickly washed his hands and went to back to sleep. Needless to say we were glad we were only staying for one night. Everything else about the Inn is satisfactory, but this one incident really bothered us on the entire trip home. Lisateave
"Wonderful"
This place is amazing! Close to everything in historic Savannah! Great staff and very friendly! Would definitely go back!
"17Hundred90 Inn, Savannah, Ga"
Lovely little place, friendly staff, very comfortable B&B style room, cozy bar area. Older building so no elevator. Only negative was the downstairs was closed at 7 a.m. so no continental breakfast was set up & I had to leave for a flight.

"17Hundred90 is THE place to stay in Savannah!"
This was our first trip to Savannah so we were a bit in the dark about where to stay. After a little browsing we decided on the 17Hundred90 and we were not disappointed! The staff were all remarkably kind and helpful. Patrick keeps things professional but is always willing to sit and chat for a bit. The continental breakfast was one of the better we've […] seen as of late. The room was homey and comfortable, it was furnished with antique pieces that really set the ambiance that you were in Old Savannah. The Inn location is perfect for those who do not mind walking. We came in via Amtrak and did not rent a car and we had no problems getting around. We are 20-something's who like to discover things for ourselves so we purchased a $6 Walking Tour Guide of Savannah and set off. We found the Inn to basically be in the middle of everything! We also HIGHLY recommend the Haunted Dinner Tour offered by the downstairs restaurant. For only $30 you can choose an item off of the Signature Dishes list (I recommend the Boursin Chicken) and get the entree, dessert, and admission on the tour. Our tour guide Jackie was a blast! You can tell that she really loves the city and is excited to share her knowledge. After our tour we sat in the Hotel Bar, which has just as much character as the rest of the building, and enjoyed great tasting cocktails with the other guests. In all, the 17Hundred90 offers everything a new guest to Savannah could want. Stay here and you will get the best bang for your buck! We will definitely be back! Lisateave
"A perfect place to stay in Savannah"
The hotel in itself is a landmark as a "known" haunted tourist attraction. It is in a safe neighborhood and close to everything you would want to walk to in Savannah. It's restaurant is great.
"17 hundred 90- close to it all"
This hotel was fantastic. If you want to experience some of the history of Savannah, this is the place to stay. It is close to a civil war cemetery. The hotel is part of the haunted ghost tour. 5 minutes to all the shops and bars along the river. The rooms are quiet and cozy, great for a romantic getaway.
"Dirty and not worth the money"
Stayed here at the 17 hundres90 inn last night (2/10/12). We arrived late and went up to our room 205 around 10 pm. After entering our room we checked everything out and noticed that the mini fridge was still packed with the last guests food!! Gross! So we promptly removed the food and had to take it downstairs in the restarurant to throw it away. We […] moved our car from the front side of the building farther down the street due to street cleaning, which is no big deal. On the weekends you do not have to pay to park. After unpacking we went to churchills for dinner (well worth every penny) after returning from dinner we came back to our room. We started noticing that the bathroom shower/tub had mold on the bottom corners and a leftover razor blade cover was left there for us to find. However we have figured out that the room must have not been cleaned or was cleaned as little as possible, as the past guests iphone/ipod charger was left in the outlet. They could've at least removed the past guests left over items. The carpet is stained but for us not a huge deal as with as many guests as these Inns get I can understand, The fireplace didnt work :( but thats ok because it has been pretty warm lately. The handle to turn on the shower is broken, so we had to go get someone 1st thing to fix it. Also no towels were in the room at all so again back downstairs to get some. I would not stay here again. I expect my room to be clean (ie without left over food or etc from other guests, and towels. We could have stayed at a super8 or another hotel on that level and had a better experience than here. Other wise the people were nice and helpful and gave us 2 free drink vouchers at the bar (which we haven't used yet). Oh and there are no elevators so if you cannot carry your luggage up stairs this is not the place for you. We didnt mind but for others that cant or need wheelchair access this wouldnt be the place to stay Lisateave
"Awesome and close to everything!"
This hotel was in the perfect location. It was only a few blocks from River Street. In addition, the restaurant was amazing! The food was delicious. The room had its quirks, but that's what you expect when you stay in an older bed and breakfast. Overall, we loved it and would definitely stay there again.

"Ghosts Not The Problem"
We stayed at the 17Hundred90 for a relaxing weekend and were pleased with the hotel staff, the room, the very convenient location, and the friendly on-site bar. The only problem we encountered was not Anna, the reputed ghost, but the fact that the walls are paper-thin and people who obviously have no common sense made too much noise throughout the night. […] We even had a guy talking on his cell phone right outside our room very early in the morning. A great one-time experience, but we won't go back. Not the hotel's fault. Lisateave
"1790"
It was an awesome stay and we r looking forward to doing it again in the future
"1790 B&B Savannah, GA"
Everything was fine except the TV coverage was extremely limited No CNN, only one major channel
"A part of History"
I loved this cozy hotel which is a part of history. The only disappointment was that the fireplace in our room did not work. Other than that, I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
"Fall in Savannah"
We spent the "Oktoberfest" in Savannah and booked this hotel after reading the online reviews. The owners were so friendly and have made this an oasis in the historic district. Our days always ended with a stop at the bar where we met locals as well as visitors. The place is alive with spirit and dedication. Please expect some little stoops or turn […] arounds in an over threehundred year old building. Excellent dining. Lisateave

"17 Hundred 90 Inn"
Check in was easy and very accomodating. We enjoyed our stay. It was very convenient and almost in the middle of the historic district. The inn was very well kept inside so I give it a five even though it needed a paint job outside. However, the house is 200 years old in a 270 year old neighborhood, so I expect it to look old and quaint. I would definitely […] stay there again. Lisateave

"Great location, warm, friendly hotel"
We chose this inn for its location and price, and for the most part, we weren't disappointed. We've stayed in small inns plenty of times and know what to expect. The pluses: Our room was super clean and nicely furnished and our bed possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. We arrived early (11 a.m.) and the woman at the front desk […] carried our bags to our room so we could sightsee until check-in (3 p.m.), which was unbelievably nice. The bartender was fabulous and overall everyone we encountered was welcoming and friendly. The minuses: Our bath towels smelled strongly of mildew. We like to sleep in a cold room, but the A/C kicked on only every half hour, so we were hot when it wasn't running (and a note on the thermostat said not to set it below 70. Boo!). The guy who worked the front desk at night wasn't helpful when we tried to arrange a morning airport shuttle pickup (he gave us phone numbers to call, after we had been told earlier they could book a shuttle for us). Breakfast starts at 8 or 8:30 and we had to leave before that, so I can't comment on that. I would stay here again, but maybe only during winter when the A/C situation wouldn't keep me awake all night. And I enjoyed the ghost stories in the notebook kept in our room, even though we went undisturbed. :) Lisateave

Loved it! Authentic Savannah. Would love to go back! Nice ghosts take care of you. ;)
"Lovable Southern Charm with Professional Service"
We stayed in the guesthouse located adjacent to the main inn. Our room had one of a kind furnishings and we were greeted with a very warm welcome.
"Musical chairs"
I would not recommend the hotel to anyone unless they bring their own parking space. they have too many rooms and not enough parking space to support a hotel, Bar and a restaurant.
"The room had NO window"
Yikes - I know I opted for the lower priced room, but imagine my surprise when I checked in, went upstairs and the room had no window. A room with a window bumped up the price! I was only there for one night, so I decided to not leave. Talk about being claustrophobic. If you have no issues about not being able to see daylight or the night sky, then […] go for it. But, if you like daylight or a window to open, stay away from this place - at least the lower priced rooms at this place. Lisateave
"Great historic inn--perfect location!"
We spent two nights at the inn and were very happy with our experience. The staff was knowledgeable about the area and sites to see. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The location in the historic district was fantastic. We especially liked the fact that it was in a more residential area--less traffic, noise and pedestrians. We could easily […] walk to all the attractions. It would have been nice to have a few more offerings for the continental breakfast. Overall great fun (no Anna sightings, though). Lisateave
"Great Hotel"
Really enjoyed my stay here
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the 1790 Inn and found the location very convenient. The staff was wonderfully accomdating but never made us feel that they were under foot. The bed was the most comfortable either of us had ever slept in and the room was quite cozy. We plan to stay here again when we are back in Savannah and can't wait to get there […] ! Lisateave
"No service"
This is a mom & pop operation and not a REAL hotel. The owner was under the sink fix pipes when I tried to check in... he should not be in the hotel business. FIND ANYWHERE ELSE TO STAY
"Seventeen Hundred Ninety Inn and Restaurant"
We found the inn in fair condition for its age and the beds were very comfortable. The chairs really needed reconditioning as they were not comfortable to sit in. The bathrooms also needed some attention. The restaurant was excellent. The food was beautifully presented with a good wine selection. There was also a wonderful piano player and singer who […] added to the ambiance. There were not enough parking spaces available for all of the guests staying at the inn which forced some guests to park on the street which is metered from 8 AM to 5 PM. The location was excellent and the inn keeper was very helpful with information about the area. The guest rooms are located on the second and third floor and guests must climb a steep staircase located on the outside of the building to reach the second floor. The third floor is accessible from inside once you reach the second floor. Lisateave
"Long weekend in Savannah"
If you are looking for an Inn and not the run of the mill hotel/motel this is it. The new owners still have some renovations to make it a top notch Inn but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was extremely nice except for the bartender in the lounge who could use a lesson in southern hospitality. This was a shame as the lounge/bar was very inviting […] and we would have liked to spend more time there. Some of the rooms do not have windows which may matter to some. Lack of windows allowed us to sleep later which was a welcome change. The parking is limited but the staff was helpful in rearranging so you could have a spot. Owners stop by your table at breakfast to chat about renovation and their plans. Breakfast was continental but good didn't eat in the restaurant as it was a little price for us as we were on a limited vacation budget. Once we parked the car we walked everywhere. Very easy to get to all Historic District venues. So go, spend time, and enjoy. We will be back!!! Lisateave
"17 Hundred 90 Inn in Savannah Ga"
The decor of the Inn immediately transported us to the eighteenth century. The staff were more than friendly & knowledgeable of Savannah and all it had to offer. We only spotted Anna briefly, but she was also friendly, and took nothing from us. Patrick & Jackie's southern hospitiality were surpassed only by the charm of Savannah. Don't hesitate to […] spend your visit to Savannah at the 17Hundred 90 Inn. Lisateave
We really enjoyed the super friendly staff, and the location is hard to beat. Unfortunately we didn't experience any paranormal activity, but there's always next time.
"A Sonnet to Savannah's Spookiest B&B"
Patrick and Patty and Nathan are sweet, The 1790's a real Southern treat! It's smack in the middle of historic Savannah and only four hours from suburban Atlanta. (But we flew via Myrtle and drove down the two-lane so progress was slow and a bit of a pain) Patrick stayed up til the dead of the night to help us get settled so we could sleep tight Wood […] blinds in the windows couldn't keep out the light but I brought my own sleep mask so it was alright. Breakfast was self-serve and merely okay but well-worth the very low cost of our stay Tea olives in front of the inn smelled so sweet and the parks all around helped us handle the heat. For lunch Patty recommended a place on Tybee where the locals eat shrimp...but I cannot tell thee! Back "home" we had dinner, pecan-crusted grouper. It was fresh from the ocean & tasted just super! We loved our short stay and will be back next year unless it's all booked. That's a prospect I fear! Hugs from Kathy and Rob in Philo, IL Lisateave
