First time I have stayed in a cave and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Breakfast taken in the old rock church was delicious with a variety of local produce/specialities. Obviously darker than a modern hotel but the atmosphere more than made up for this. Rooms come with en-suite facilities but disappointed not to be offered a room with a shower. This is an exquisite hotel. It is built into ancient caves but with chic new plumbing, etc. It was restored as the 13th C. monastery it once was. The architect and designers did a brilliant, elegant job. Five star all the way.

Don't think twice. This place is a little slice of heaven. The rooms are wonderful and atmospheric, the beds soft and spacious, the bath luxurious and inviting. It's a romantic paradise! The breakfast is great, too.

We had a little difficulty finding the hotel. Once we got there I was a little concerned that I had made a mistake booking the room. We were given a tour of the facility and then taken to our room. My opinion changed! The room was perfect - clean, dimly lit and with candles strategically placed throughout the rooms. No concern with heating; the room […] temperature was pleasant. I prefer a shower, but our room only had a tub which turned out to be just fine. Matter-of-fact, it was quite nice soaking the sore muscles after hiking around Matera. There was plenty to eat at breakfast. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only complaint I have is concerning parking. There is free public parking nearby where we parked without any problems. But there is also a parking area at the hotel that we were told was not for guests, but then some guests were allowed to park there. The "No Parking" rule should apply to all guests. Lisateave

En bybfra middelalderen som er bygget på stein, veldig spesiell og fin. Hotellet kult og noe helt annet med sine grotter.

Att bo i denna grotta var en upplevelse för livet. Grottan var främst upplyst med stearinljus, och en del diskret placerade lampor. Det hade varit trevligt med ett badkar, men det finns endast i de dyrare rummen.
