Flipper Hotel - Amsterdam

The hotel was nice, u get what u pay for... only thing that bothered us was the location it's a wee bit further out than expected but there is a regular tram service 2 min walk from the hotel.

On the website it wasnt clear the package so we chose the worng room they should mention the number of beds, and not to play on the words to attract people, in my next trip AMS i wont stay there of course, only 1 small bathroom for 21 rooms its not logical and i thought the rate was ok but when i saw all this no... the rate was to much high and also […] the breakfast is not free!! in paris is cheaper then here !!!! Hotel Flipper is situated in a typical building, which means it has steep stairs and relatively small rooms. We needed a double, but, since it was not available, booked a triple. Breakfast buffet has to be paid separately, there are "city taxes" to be paid top of the price shown on this website, and if you pay by credit card there will be a 5% overcharge. At the rate I got this was real value for money. Room was fairly large, although I'm told the not all rooms are, and I had modern en suite bathroom with an excellent shower. The 3 bed room was small and the beds narrow, but everything was clean and the bathroom was very fresh. Short walk to the tram for access to the city center. Good value for money.

we found the rooms to be quite small for two people, there was also alot of dust on the drawers and wardrobe, the room could have been a little more cleaner then what it was and we were very dissapointed about sharing a bathroom, which again was really small, with the rest of the bedrooms on the floor, however if your on a budget holiday then its really […] good for the moeny. we really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Nice hotel. Price is one of the cheapest in Amsterdam. A little bit away from city center, but by walking you can be in center in 45 minutes. Enough clean. Very nice place just for a night.

The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The surrounding neighborhood is a little sketchy but really not far from major attractions. However, at the end of the day, this is a hostel.

Staying was fine, breakfast not too bad, very good coffee. I noticed only one unsatisfied thing - access to wi-fi - NO access on room nr 21, I do not know how in other rooms, but I needed to sit down on stairs to catch Internet !

This is really a back packers hostel than a hotel. Noise echoes from room to room and also when people walk up and down the stairs. It is two terraced houses knocked together rather than a purpose built hotel. My single bed was only about a metre wide, Hardly big enough for a child. Horrible. I would not stay there again

This is the great hotel for the budget traveller. Only a short tram ride from the centre of Amsterdam, this hotel as a must for those on limited budgets. While it doesn't have the facilities of a more expensive hotel, this is more than made up for by the friendly and well knowledgeable staff.

The hotel staff was nice, helpful, and attentive. Breakfast was included and was very sufficient. The free wifi was a great asset. My issues were that my room was extremely small, it was noisy during the night and day because I heard every footstep of the other guests in the rooms above me. I had what I think was the smallest room in the hotel. i had […] a private shower but a shared toilet. It was very expensive for the size but cheap compared to the other prices I saw advertised on the web in Amsterdam. The neighborhood was a nice. It's close to the Amstelkade tram stop. The Hotel Flipper has nice staff and is located in a relatively nice yet quiet area. Easy to get to from the airport by train. Walkable but not super close to downtown. Hyggelig sted. De holder det rent, du har såpe og shampo på badet, grei standard. Du får te og kaffe sammen vannkoker på rommet. Personalet er hyggelig og veldig hjelpsomme. Bra opphold.

Det lød positivt fra starten, at vores baggage kunne opbevares på hotellet efter ankomst på Schiphol kl. 8, set i lyset af, at check ind begyndte fra kl. 14. Efter således at have nydt 1. dag i Amsterdam fra morgenstunden blev vi behageligt overrasket af dobbeltværelset incl. eget badeværelse. Det var ikke for stort, men ok for to, blev rengjort hverdag […] og sengebetræk udskiftet. Betingelsen er dog, at man kan holde balancen, da trappeop-gangen til værelset er stejl. Morgenmaden var fint, ikke for prangende, men med diverse udvalg. Adspurgt blev der forsynet med nyt. Ligeså vigtigt var receptionens døgnåbning, så livet i Amsterdam kunne opleves i alle dens facetter. Dertil var receptionen forsynet med en del information, og nok så vigtigt: mulighed for at købe rejsekort til det allestedsnærværende offentlige trafik, set i lyset af, at hotellet fhv. ligger langt fra centrum. Nærmeste påstigning lå 300 m. fra hotellet, med korte ventetider. Personalet har hele tiden været behjælpeligt og efter lange ture i Amsterdam var det behageligt at komme tilbage til et rengjort værelse med redte senge. Alt sammen for en billigpris. Så medmindre man er meget kredsen vedr. komfort, kan hotellet fint anbefales. Lisateave

Thankfully one of the hostess was really helpful. Because the rest of the others employees was just useless. I had a flood in my bedroom the first day, noticed it, but they never fixed it. It was impossible for me to get a room with a king bed. So I had a room with 3 single beds !! no lift, very tiny corridors, very angled stairs, noisy neighbors with […] no respect for the other.... clearly, I don't suggest it. It's worth spending more money to find a better hotel. Heureusement qu'une des hôtesses était plus aimable et désirait vraiment m'aider. . J'ai eu une fuite sous le lavabo, l'ai signalé, mais personne n'est venu pour la réparer. les chambres sont très très petites, les couloirs très étroits, et les escaliers plutôt raides !! Bref, je le déconseille fortement Lisateave

j'ai choisi cet hotel car la chambre y était moins cher que les dortoires en auberge de jeunesse. Le lit contre 3 murs et les toilettes communes ne m'ont donc absolument pas génés, c'était petit et sans emplacement de rangement, mais je ne m'attendais pas à plus, c'est donc la solution parfaite pour des jeunes/etudiants qui veulent juste avoir un lit […] au chaud, une douche et une piece pour laisser les baggages pendant la journée! ;-) Lisateave

Malgré le prix, pas de gros problème. Seul étonnement, à la réception, impossible de converser en néerlandais. Uniquement chinois et anglais.

Hotelli oli kaikkiaan iloinen yllätys. Huoneemme oli siisti, joskin hyvin pieni. Hyvä palvelu, aamupala ei ollut erikoinen, mutta riittävän monipuolinen mielestämme. Ratikalla pääsi kätevästi keskustaan.

Очень удобно, что отменить бронь можно за сутки без потери денег. Неожиданным оказалось то, что несмотря на то, что была снята вся сумма с кредитки, при заезде попросили оплатить все по новой (наличными или кредиткой). Получились дополнительные расходы. Второй неожиданностью было то, что душ с туалетом все-таки на этаже, но в принципе комнат не много, […] очереди не было. в номере есть хотя бы раковина. Убирали номер каждый день, завтраки скромные, но все равно радуют: йогурт, молоко с сухим завтраком, колбаски, сыры, тосты и фрукты. Расположение не очень-вокруг мало чего интересного, но до центра и обратно мы ходили пешком разными путями. Где-то минут по сорок в одну сторону. В целом, отель очень скромный. Но довольно уютный и домашний, персонал приветливый. Lisateave

Hotellet var okej. Rummet var dåligt städat och lakanen var smutsiga även fast de verkade tvättade. Vissa av personel var otroligt trevliga medan andra var mindre hjälpsamma. Förutom städningen var rummet ganska fräscht, badrummet var nyrenoverat. Det tog cirka tjugo minuter att gå in till centrum, och det fanns mycket att titta på på vägen (bland annat […] går man förbi en trevlig marknad). Annars går spårvagnen bara några hundra meter från hotellet. Frukosten var okej, inget spännande men prisvärt jämfört med att äta frukost ute. Lisateave

Dersom man er ute ute etter å spare penger, ikke har noe imot hostel/vandrehjem-preget, eller hotellets lokasjon, så er Hotel Flipper helt OK! Nabolaget er rolig og koselig, betjeningen er hyggelige og service-innstilte (Yes, sensei!), og det tar 30-40 minutter å vandre inn til sentrum.

Amsterdan is a beautiful city, but the Hotel is bad. There was a mouse in our room and the room wasn´t tidy cleaned. So I can´t suggest this Hotel!

Helt okej hotell. Ligger en bit undan stan men det går spårvagn i närheten som går direkt till centrum. Personalen var hjälpsam. Vi hade lite problem med att hitta hotellet låg på en bakgata. Bra för en billig peng.

Bon confort malgré une insonorisation insuffisante (porte, VMC temporisée de la salle de bain trop bruyante. Le wifi dans les chambre des étages fonctionne mal, mais pas de problèmes dans le hall de l'hotel.

Helt greit opphold for prisen, litt uhygenisk å dele bad på 1 kvadrat meter. Folkene som jobbet der var hyggelige å hjelpsomme. Belligenhet ok, ca. 200 m unna nærmeste ''trail'' stopp.

OBS! Ingen toalett eller dusch på rummet, det fanns i korridoren. Handfat fanns i alla fall på rummet.Vad det gäller frukosten så ingick inte den, kostar 4 Euro per person o dag och var väldigt enkel.

vi var 4 st som hade ett rum, i det rummet fanns dusch och handfat, toaletten låg precis utanför rummet. vilket fungerade kanon. mycket bra och billig frukost.

Ma ve Kerry çok yardımcı oldular. Tüm çalışanlardan memnun kaldık; hepsi sakin, dostça davranan, işini iyi yapan insanlardı. 4 yataklı odamız temiz ve konforluydu. Otel merkeze ve havaalanına 4 numaralı tramvayla kolayca ulaşılabilen huzurlu bir mahallede idi. İzmir gibi batı Türkiye'den, ılıman bir kentten gelen bir aile olarak Amsterdam'ın soğuk ve […] yağmurlu günlerinde otelin ve odamızın ısıtmasından da memnun kaldık:-) Lisateave

Ett litet hotel men bra, fick bra standard för lite pengar. Nära till Amstel station och där var de lätt att ta sig in till stan! God frukost!
