The staff was nice. My son and I stayed here in the middle of 2 college visits (Muhlenberg and Ursinus). The rooms all had indoor corridors which is a major plus over many motor inns. The room appeared to be fine but at times there was an odor that was like someone getting their hair permed. The AC would not turn down or off, so I had to unplug it.It […] suited the two of us just fine, a safe, cheap and convenient place to stay. The enamel in the sink was starting to crack and peel.My wife would not have liked it. Expect plastic cups with no iron or hair dryer (unless you request them). You get that for which you pay. Clean, comfortable, convenient, very reasonable. It's not a Hilton, but it's definitely well worth a repeat visit and well worth the price. The breakfast was coffee, tea, juice, prepackaged muffins, & fruit, so if a full meal is important, this wouldn't do. It was perfectly fine for us, though.

Desk staff were very friendly. The hotel was quiet and the location is at the edge of town. All one level, loved that a real key locks the room door yet there is a flat screen T.V. Large, clean room, with two very comfortable full beds. Shower had great pressure and water temperature. Sink should be replaced...was old with multi-cracks from wear. Tub […] was clean but some mold noticed, probably another age problem. With only these two issues, we would stay again but recommend the hotel fixes these for others may not. Lisateave

The room was very spacious. The staff was very courteous. Other than that, this is a dilapidated, old, crusty, moldy building that needs major renovation. Until that happens, I would NEVER stay here again. It was pretty gross. I don't like to feel like I need to shower after I shower.

Carpets and furniture were worn. I left a jacket there when I checked out and they refused to mail it back to me. I had to contact people from out of town to get my jacket and mail it too me.

I have stayed at this hotel twice. It is excellent for travelers who like the convenience of a small family type hotel. If you are looking for the "hotel chain" experience, this isn't it. The breakfast consists of muffins, fruit, juice, and coffee/tea (unlimited). The hotel has a total of about 20 rooms. So it is an excellent choice for travelers who […] have more difficulty negotiating through large hotels. The length of the corridor is about the length of most large hotel lobbies (i.e. very short distance from car to room). The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a cozy family style lobby with a table for games and a TV. However, I reiterate that this is not the hotel for those looking for the experience of the large hotel chains. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Phoenixeville is a fabulous, artsy, historical town with a tremendous variety of things to do. Great shops and restaurants, and a beautiful, downtown shopping district. This hotel puts you close to the area. But you willl have to drive. Lisateave

The French Creek Inn satisfied our needs very well. The staff was very nice and helpful. The location of the Inn was ideal for access to our family members and the area was safe. The only drawback was the housekeeping service. Our beds were not made and our dirty towels not taken away and replaced with clean. The French Creek Inn was located in a perfect location for our two day trip and the hotel staff were pleasant. The motel is in need of basic upkeep, such as painting and furniture. If the full size beds in our room were better I would have given this motel a "4". However, the full size beds were so bad, that the lack of restful sleep affected our moods […] the following day. We arrived a little early, but the staff was very welcoming and let us drop our bags in lieu of a late check-in after our conference. I can't say enough nice things about the staff. We opted for a smoking room... I have stayed in many smoking rooms in other hotels that did not have a distinctive smoke odor, but this one retained a strong smoke odor. […] Not unbearable, but a definite "stale" smoke odor when you opened the door. The room was "clean" and had nice amenities, but the motel is showing its age and in need of upgrades. A small tear in the carpet, wallpaper starting to come off in places, a ceiling tile that needs to be replaced and stained carpet in the hallway are all superficial and really had no impact on the comfort of our stay. The beds were hard is the only discomfort I can claim. If looking for a cheap room in the Valley Forge area, I would stay here again, but next time I'll take a non-smoking room and go outside to pollute my lungs. Lisateave

My room seemed quite clean, as did the place overall. It was relatively quiet, and in a good location. However, the mattress was so hard that I might as well have slept on the floor. I did not sleep well at all. Also the air conditioning did not come on much, if at all, during the night, and I woke up very warm. And one other thing -- the lock on the […] doorknob worked when I went out for dinner, and then when I went in the room for the night, it didn't lock. I was too tired to switch rooms, I guess, and the other lock worked, so I locked that and put a chair behind the door! Again, it's a quiet, clean place, but even with a consistently working lock, the bed was so uncomfortable that I really can't recommend the place. Lisateave

The hotel is not the most modern and could do with a refresh, but it is clean, staff are friendly and the rooms have all you need - fridge, microwave, etc. It has wifi throughout though the signal is really weak towards the end of the rooms. We checked in on Monday the 13th around 7pm. We were warmly greeted by the night audit clerk who quickly checked us in. We were given a double bedded room that was a little stuffy when we entered, but cranking up the AC remedied that quickly. We had some difficulty getting the TV to work but the desk clerk helped out with that quickly. He also mentioned […] the complimentary breakfast available super early in the morning, since we had an early funeral service on Tuesday. i assumed the dish of cat food on the veranda was for ferrel cats from the adjacent woods. stepping thru the lobby door, I was met by a very strong 'institutional' odor, like cleanser, fragrant coverup, and really old furnishings, walls etc. The desk clerk barely looked up at me, had me fill out a form, asked my last name, slapped the key on the counter […] and said first room on your right. The room was incredibly spacious, except the bath area, but it all smelled as bad as the lobby. The beds were unbelievably hard! My wife could not sleep even with 4 of the meager pillows lined up end to end to soften the box spring (perhaps it was a mattress). The ventilator kept the room cool, but made more noise than any I have heard in years. Appeared to have been built in the 70's and never remodeled, bath fixtures were original, breakfast was meager, one banana for my wife and I (we shared it), orange juice, and Otis Spunkmeyer muffins. The chocolate muffins were the high point of my stay. We intended to stay two nights, but since neither of us could fall asleep the first night, we walked out the first morning and didn't come back. We paid for two nights through Expedia but were content to eat the loss and go home early to avoid another night of torture. The morning clerk seemed to be nonsocial too, speaking only a few words to answer my Q about breakfast. 24 guest rooms, presumably all the same. On the weeknight we were there, there were about 6 cars in the parking lot. Lisateave

This hotel is on the older side but still acceptable for cleanliness. The bathroom sink could be replaced and the beds could use a memory pad or something but overall the hotel was convinent for my purposes, a visit to Valley Forge National Historic Park. It was also half the price of other hotels in the area, so I could afford to stay two nights instead […] of just one. The folks at the hotel were friendly and helpful. There weren't any computers available to guests or staff so we all used the old-fashoined way of communicating by talking to each other. It was great! Lisateave

French Creek Inn is a quaint hotel reminisciant of bygone days. Small hotel, friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Could use some cosmetic improvements. (some peeling wallpaper). I will probably stay again when I visit Phoenixville PA next year for the annual event. The hotel is small, private, inexpensive and works for me. It is not luxurious or fancy. The continental breakfast is just coffee and prepackaged muffins, but it was very convenient as a 5 minute drive to town. It was also very private and quiet.

Don't expect to be able to walk to any nearby towns from this hotel's location! But if you want basic amenities at an affordable price and easy auto access to a number of Philadelphia suburbs, this may be the place for you. Breakfast is minimal, but a small restaurant nearby can provide inexpensive supplementation. A sub shop and an Italian ice stand […] can be reached on foot, dodging high-speed traffic, as well. Rooms are conveniently supplied with a mini-fridge and microwave, and appear to have last been decorated in the 1980's.
