Hotel Wawel - Krakow

I was happy to book a "Single room" since I trawled alone. The bed was still 1.20 I think. Good location in Old Town, but also tucked away on a one-way street. Clean and fresh. OK but "noisy" breakfast. Good service. Plus for Eurosport channel on TV. Minus for no trash can in the room - only one small in the bathroom.

Wawel is a very comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The quality of the rooms make it great value.

A very good hotel. Great service, fantastic Yacuzzi, very nice people in reception. Very close to everything you need in Krakow. I can highly recommened this hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights I must say I was ber impressed with this hotel. We arrived about 12 to leave in our bags but they had our room ready. They upgraded us to a fabulous suite! The hotel couldn't be more centrally located 3 mins walk from the main square but on a quiet little street . We had 2 flatscreen tellys in our suite, all mod cons. No […] coffee making facilities in the room but a free coffee machine that makes lovely cappuccinos in the residents lounge on the first floor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Usual continental breakfast but some hot food available.. nothing to write home about. Overall loved this hotel and Krakow. Trip tooo short. Lisateave

This hotel was renovated in 2009 and it shows! The rooms are really nice and so are the bathrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpfull - especially when we realised, that there was no bubble bath in the bathrooms, which Hotels.com had stated in both text and pictures. The hotel gave us one free pass to the wellness center in the hotel for free, […] and changed the description and pictures on Hotels.com immediately. The breakfast is a buffet and it is nothing special. However you do get freshly made eggs on request, which is nice. The Wawel Hotel could not be more centrally situated. It is smack in the middle of the old town just a few hundred meters from the main square. Would we reccomend The Wawel? Absolutely ;-) And we will stay here again! Lisateave

The hotel is a good location in the old town of Krakow. A lot of money has evidently been spent on decoration and marble flooring. But there are numerous problems with this place. Half of the hotel has air conditioning and the other half doesn't. I had the impression there was a sauna downstairs. The room I was in was too hot - at the end of September. […] Noise from music in the courtyard, and air conditioning equipment. Church bells ringing at 6.45 in the morning. More serious is the unsafe electric socket for the standard lamp. A child could remove the plastic cover and could then touch bare wiring. I could only find one working electric socket in the room. The two sockets in the bathroom would never be allowed in western Europe. The bedding was cheap and not suitable for the time of year. There was pounding rap music in the breakfast room at 7 am - which is rather odd considering most of the guests are middle-aged and are not likely to appreciate this kind of noise. The management need to deal with the problems in this place - just putting in marble flooring doesn't make it a good hotel. Lisateave

This hotel is very well located - two blocks from old city main square; the room we had was terrific - well decorated and very large. Overall, we were very satisfied with this hotel.

This is a superb hotel located in the old town. The hotel and rooms are nicely designed and decorated. Staff are friendly and helpful and always present. The only very minor issue was a bottle cap and open bar of soap left behind when I checked in, but the facilities were otherwise very clean and comfortable.

I had previously stayed at the Wawel on business and chose it again when I returned with my wife for a three-night break. The location is just perfect, in a quite street between the main square and the castle. The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard; particular highlights are the modern bathrooms and the murals in public areas. This place is great for the price. Great, large and comfy rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast and a wonderful spa. It's position in the city is fantastic too.

Perfect location, excellent staff, the two rooms I saw were big by European standards, the hotel is clean, the rooms have been updated, the attached restaurant is good (though definitely don't limit yourself to that one place -- too many great restaurants in the Old Town) and the hotel is full of character. They do not have on-site parking but they […] do have an arrangement with two local guarded lots, so you'll need to drop your luggage off, then relocate your car about 3 blocks (only a 5 or 10 minute walk). Since there isn't even a parking space for the hotel, just do what everyone else does and park temporarily on the sidewalk while you're checking in. The only odd thing is that they only issue a single room key and insist on you leaving the key at the front desk while you're out sightseeing, so if your party splits up (say to take a nap) then the sleeping party will have to wake up to let the later party into the room since the sleeping party has the only key in the room. While we planned on spending several days in Krakow, we only booked three nights here so that we'd have the flexibility to move to a better hotel. We saw no need to move and extended our stay by two more nights. Lisateave

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very good, clean and spacious. Nice quiet street. Breakfast, which was included, was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Good location is the only redeeeming feature of this hotel. Overpriced and dated. Did not clean our room,when I phoned reception I was told that I should of put a card out saying I wanted to the room cleaned. It was a big dissapointment for the price paid.You can get much better luxury hotels for this price. The breakfast was not good quality.The bacon […] in the scrambles eggs was inedible. The room was small and dark. They played loud music in the courtyard until 12 when we phoned and asked them to turn it off.It was back on again at 6am. I would not reccommend this place to anyone. I must say that the 3 stars rating do not do justice to this hotel.The overall service is very impressive.The hotel has been done up well and gives the impression of a 4 star boutique hotel.Breakfast was very decent and filling.The rooms were more than adequate,decent sized,clean and even had a flat screen TV. Staff was very helpful and professional.They […] gave us good tips on sight seeing.Most of them spoke English but those that spoke little English made the effort of communicating :) Location was excellent! So close to everything and yet very quiet as the hotel is in a side lane of the main street. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and definitely stay there again if I visit Krakow. Lisateave

The perfect location for visiting the city. It is within walking distance to the train station and all the sights. We felt very safe staying in the area. Breakfast was included & you could request an omelet or scrambled eggs- which were very good. They have a small courtyard that was a wonderful place to end the day over drinks. The rooms were a good […] size & the bathroom was beautiful. Air conditioning was a luxury- as was the elevator - a help when traveling with an elderly person. The staff was very helpful & allowed us to leave our bags for the day after we checked out since our train didn't leave until late. I look forward to a return visit! Lisateave

Aside from uncomfortable (and short) beds, the hotel is excellent. Entire hotel was renovated and it shows. Breakfast is the typical European style & a nice bonus. Great location - about 3-4 blocks from the castle & old square. I would definitely stay there again!

Nice, clean and quiet hotel 5 mins walk from the market square. The hotel has a lift but this doesn't go to the top floor.

I recently stayed at the hotel Wawel for one week. It was reasonably priced and the location could not be beat. It is located on a quiet street between the Wawel Castle and the Main Square, a short walking distance to everything. Close to many great restaurants. They have a plentiful breakfast buffet every morning-yogurt, cheeses, breads, jams, sausages, […] fruit and they will make you a fresh omelet or scrambled eggs. Good coffee too. My double room was attractive with a comfortable bed-quite sizeable with a large modern bathroom. It faced the street, but the closed window blocked out the sound of the early morning delivery trucks. My only complaint is that the beds have a heavy comforter for a blanket and no top sheet. Probably welcome in the winter but I visited in the summer and the weather was quite warm, I got overly warm at night. Luckily the rooms are air conditioned. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to all. (also the receptionists spoke very good English and were quite helpful with travel advice). Lisateave

We enjoyed our stay at the Wawel Hotel. It was in a great location and the hotel facilities were also good. The breakfast was particularly nice. There is an ajoinng restaurant , which offers room service and was very convenient. Thers are also several restaurants and shops closeby. Reception staff were very helpful.

Mycket bra. Mindre mysigt hotell med kanonläge. Personalen väldigt serviceminded. Väldigt fin spaavdelning. Tyvärr hann vi inte nyttja denna. Kan varmt rekommendera hotellet.

Veldig hyggelig hotell

Meget koslig og velholdt hotell, hyggelig betjening. Perfekt beliggenhet, stille og rolig og veldig sentralt. To negative ting: alt for harde madrasser og kaldt på badet.

Koselig og velholdt hotell med flotte rom og perfekt beliggenhet ti minutt fra Rynek Glowny. Kjempegod service; vi fikk bl.a. beholde rommet til seks avreisedagen. Enkel, men grei frokost. Savna kjøleskap på rommet. Velger gjerne dette hotellet ved en senere anledning og anbefaler det til alle!

Yövyimme hotellissa kolme yötä loppukesällä 2011. Hotelli oli rauhallinen ja palvelu hyvää, aamiaispöytä oli melko suppea. Huoneemme oli iso, kaunis ja siisti. Siivous tehtiin joka päivä. Olimme erittäin tyytyväisiä.

Dette hotellet hadde alt. God beliggenhet, høy standard, hyggelig betjening og greit prisnivå. Sikkert valg ved neste besøk i Krakow.

Super beliggenhet (rolig og sentralt på en gang), vennlig og serviceinnstilt betjening og god frokost. Kan anbefales!

Bodde på detta hotell i fyra nätter. Fantastisk läge och snygga rum till ett rimligt pris. Dessutom är det tyst trots det centrala läget. Har tidigare bott i Krakow på betydligt sämre hotell. Vill ni bo bra till ett rimligt pris så är detta hotell ett utmärkt val. Tilläggas bör att personalen är trevlig och hjälpsam, vilket man inte alltid upplever […] i Polen. Lisateave

i booked wawel hotel 3 night via hotels .com the hotel is very nice ..rooms are big and komfort. if i will judge the hotel i will say its 4 **** star not 3 .but 3 days nobody clean the room food is bad service at lunch time is very bad .so there was only little girl at reception she was helpful and smily .i guess all the other dont raily care except […] this girl and other young girl at breakfast restaurant Lisateave

Veldig pent innredet med gjennomført stil. Behagelige farger og ikke slitt noe steder.Rommene med dobbeltseng var todelt så en dobbel movermadrass hadde vært mere behagelig.Vi ønsket et lite kjøleskap på rommet. Bra med safe i skapet. God frokost og man slapp å vente på påfylling av pålegg o.l. Et stille og rolig område og ikke noe bråk fra andre gjester […] eller fra de som ryddet rommene. Beliggenheten var helt super! Man gikk rett og slett ut døren og tok til høyre, og vips! så var man midt i sentrum for det meste. Det var heller ingen lange avstander til Wawel slott, elvepromenaden og shoppingsenteret. Vi anbefaler å leie en " privat -guide/ sjåfør " som kjørte en flerseters liten bil. Sjåføren snakket godt engelsk og vi fikk guiding på norsk via høyttaler. Det ble tid til å stoppe og titte inn i div. kirker o.l. mens han ventet. En vakker by med billig mat og drikke og utrolig vakre bygg og rent over alt. anbefales ! Lisateave

Dette hotellet vil jeg anbefale på det varmeste: ypperlig beliggenhet, hyggelig betjening, passe størrelse og intim hjemlig atmosfære.

Flott hotell med fantastisk beliggenhet i gamlebyen. Stille og rolig gate og lett å stikke innom hotell med shoppingposer. Mange bra restauranter i umiddelbar nærhet. Fine rom, rent og pent. Flislagte bad. 4 damer på tur var strålende fornøyde.

Un 3 estrellas equiparable a cualquier hotel de 4 estrellas. Trato correcto. Estupendo desayuno buffet. Una pena que no funcionara el jacuzzi de la zona wellness. Volveríamos encantados. En pleno casco viejo.
