We were there for a wedding in the area. The location was great. The hotel was clean, far enough from the freeway traffic that we felt like we were in the country which was very nice, and the room was perfect as well as the breakfast. Your staff was nice. "Hidden Pleasure"
Tucked out of the way, behind the main drag but a block from the freeway, this extended stay place is charming. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It kinda feels like you are visiting some distant family members. The staff treated us well. We had lots of kids in the hotel and they were very friendly and considerate of other tenants by putting us all on one side of the hotel. The rooms were well stocked and clean. Kitchenette was fantastic to have with kids. I come to Kingwood once a month and stay overnight. I normally stay elsewhere but there was a good deal in this one. It was new and it was clean. This hotel could be a gem. They provide free laundry (you buy detergent), have a nice pool/hot tub area and the kitchenettes are nice. However, if ANYTHING goes wrong..from needing your room cleaned to cable or internet not responding, you're going to be out of luck. This hotel is painfully understaffed and under-informed of hotel policies, upkeep, […] management, etc... It seems to run on good will alone. I had several problems with the hotel and was never offered more than an "I'm sorry. We'll try and get it right next time" although I was very straightforward that there was not going to be a next time. In general, the whole is much less than the sum of its parts.
