Residenza Domiziano - Rooma

We stayed four nights at this hotel. It would have been very confusing as to how to get into the hotel had I not read a previous reviewers tip- having to push the button by the big wooden door at the first entrance- this unlocked the other doors. The hotel is very small(only twenty rooms), and quaint. The staff is very personable and is willing to help […] you with any questions or problems you may have. The check-in area (on 2nd floor)is not very large and you must walk by it upon entering and exiting your room. They wish for you to leave your room keys with them when you leave the building, which is really fine..this way you know you cannot lose your keys....I guess they can do this because it is such a small hotel. The rooms were spacious enough and clean. The showers were small, and in one of our 2 rooms the air conditioner did not cool as well as the other. The location of the hotel was very good. It was a 2 minute walk to the metro, and 15 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and The Spanish Steps. There were cafes close by as well. I would stay at this hotel again. Lisateave

The room was small but adequate for our needs. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was very helpful. We were close to sites such as Trevi Fountain. One down side to the room was that the entry to the shower was very narrow. Anyone who was even the least bit heavy or a large man would not be able to get into this shower.

We only stayed one night at Residenza Domiziana, after having spent a week in Umbria. We were very satisfied with our stay. Our driver found the hotel very easily, it was in an excellent location, central to many sites of Rome, many nice eateries. The room was quite spacious and very nice. Vicky at the front desk was extremely nice and accomodating. […] We left on a very early flight, and we were able to get our breakfast at an early hour, which we very much appreciated. Hotel was difficult to find, down a side street, no flags hanging to indicate it's a hotel, small sign out front, not well lit. This is basically the 1st floor of an apartment building that was converted into a bed & breakfast. There is no lobby, since it is an apartment building, you have to be buzzed in and take the elevator to the 1st floor. 2 of […] the 3 front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, the 3rd had no personality. The room was very small and breakfast must be ordered the night before and is served to your room. Very disappointing. There is only 1 English TV station and 1 Italian TV station, the rest is in Arabic. The location, however, is convenient. Short walk to the Barbari Metro Stop and about 4 blocks either way to Piazza di Spagna and the Fountain of Trevi. Close to resturaunts and shops. I would this recommend this hotel for the price and location as long as you are just there to shower & sleep and not planning to spend a long amout of time in your room. Lisateave

Staff is tremendous. Very helpful. A little hard to find and not much signage. Bathroom has no shower curtain so it makes it hard to take a shower without wetting the floor. A/C could be stronger. But great location and closeness to metro overrules all the minor issues.

This hotel served my family's purposes very well (two adults, two kids, 5 and 3). Although we were a tad taken aback upon arrival by the hotel's entrance (you go into a shared entrance and up to the second floor for the reception area), we found the room to be clean, the bathroom spacious by European standards and the location at the base of the Via […] Veneto fantastic. I just returned from a stay at this hotel. The first thing you should know is that it is not really a traditional hotel with a lobby downstairs etc. You go in a courtyard and up one flight of stairs and see a reception area there. Our room for 4 ended up being a regular room with a queen and two rollaways, but our in-laws got a room in another building […] nearby (but also part of this "hotel" apparently, that had a kitchen in it. So if you perfer one type of room over another, you may want to specify when you book. The decor in our room was outdated, but the room was very clean with good a/c and satellite tv. The location is very near a subway stop and Piazza Barberini and the Spanish steps are walking distance. Lisateave

We were there for one night only. they have the small rooms ( more like doorms, not recommended ) and the nice apt rooms which are more than OK. The hotel is actually located inside a bulding and is a bit hard to find ( small sign on the front of the building ). all considered the hotel was good value for money, great location, free ( wired only ) […] internet in the rooms, nice staff. we did not get a chance to try the breakfast. we would recommend this hotel for young travelers under a budget. Although an attractive hotel, in a quaint, old fashioned sort of way, it was difficult to find (it was located within a courtyard, behind large wooden doors, on the first floor, with a very small name plaque amongst a list of other names ). It had one of those old fashioned 'caged' lifts reminiscent of the 1920s, which we found very charming, but would […] be difficult for someone on their own with more than hand luggage, to manage. The room was beautifully decorated and the queen sized bed was very comfortable. However, noise from the street (revellers and motorists) kept us awake all night (Rome never sleeps). As there were no facilites for dining, it was room service only for breakfast (OK if you don't want full English, which cost more anyway), check out had to be by 11.30 nand there was nowhere to store luggage. This "residenza" is in a great location with very friendly and helpful staff. For four (two kids) the room was a bit small, but it was very clean and relatively quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We could see a lot of Rome in a short time!

Opholdet var perfekt. Eneste problem er Jeres (Hotels.com) total forkerte beskrivelse af hotellet/værelset. At skrive "dettte værelse har udsigt over byen" er totalt misvisende. Især når udsigten er til en baggård!!!

Hotellet ligger i gågang til stort set alt, og ellers ligger metroen lige rundt om hjørnet. Servicen er virkelig god, og de vil gøre alt for at din ferie er god. Det første de gjorde da vi checkede ind var at give os et kort og tegne ind alt hvad man skal se, og har man spørgsmål gør de alt for at få dem besvaret. Muy bien situado, a 50mts del metro, a pie de Fontana de Trevi, Plaza de España. Amplias habitaciones, limpias y con mobiliario moderno. Sin duda una magnifica elección a buen precio. Solo 2 pequeñas criticas, pasillo entre habitaciones ruidoso y el desayuno en las habitaciones que a mi personalmente no me agrada.

Eu e minha família passamos quatro dias muito agradáves em Roma e isso tudo foi favorecido pela localização e cordialidade do Hotel Rezidenca Domiciano. Quando chegamos em frente ao Hotel foi um susto, não achamos onde parar o carro para tirar as bagagens, portaria, recepcionista, etc... mas logo surgiu um senhor extremamente educado e nos ajudou com […] as malas e com tudo mais. Os quartos são excelentes, reformados, todos com carpete de madeira, cheirinho de novo e limpo... O café da manhã servido no quarto (porque no hotel não tem restaurante) muito bom também. Quanto a passeios e restaurantes, todos que foram sugeridos para nós foram de primeiríssima qualidade. Em frente ao Hotel tem um cantina muito boa, na esquina uma estação de metrô.. Fomos caminhando pelos pontos turisticos mais importantes como Fontana, Navona, E. Espanha, etc... tudo muito perto. Recomendo muito este hotel e com certeza voltaria lá. Lisateave

Really good location near the Metro, Spanish Steps (not really that great), shopping and within walking distance of all the major sights. Very freindly staff ready with advice and smiles. Breakfast service fine but not extraordinary, but nice to have it served. But there was nowhere to sit with it... Ruhig gelegenes kleines Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Unser Zimmer war zwar sehr klein aber ruhig und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war gut, wurde aber im Zimmer serviert, wo sich leider kein Tisch befand. Für uns war das kein Problem, könnte manchen Gast aber sicher stören. Wir können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen wenn man sich hier […] nur zum Schlafen aufhalten will. Das Personal war sehr entgegenkommend, und wir konnten sowohl am Ankunftstag als auch bei der Abreise unsere Koffer über den Buchungszeitraum hinaus im Hotel lassen und uns somit die sehr langen Schlangen an der Gepäckaufbewahrung des Bahnhofes in Rom sparen. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, man kann von da aus fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten gut zu Fuß erreichen. Selbst zum Vatikan braucht man kaum mehr als eine halbe Stunde. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber. Die Menschen an der Rezeption und das sonstige Personal sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man fühlt sich sehr gut aufgehoben. Frühstück gibt es auf dem Zimmer. […] Es ist kein Superfrühstück, aber für den Start in den Tag ist es okay. Man kann Croissants, Brötchen, Marmelade, Honig und Butter sowie Kaffe und Saft bestellen und wenn man mag, auch ein paar Eier dazu. Wir können das Hotel nur weiter empfehlen, alles sehr in Ordnung. Bij aankomst kregen we een plattegrond van Rome en heeft de receptionist alle tijd genomen om ons alle bezienswaardigheden te laten zien en uit te leggen hoe ver dat van het hotel was. Het ontbijt was fantastisch; werd geserveerd in de kamer, dus lekker op bed ontbeten. De kamer was superschoon en de bedden waren ook goed. Alleen 's ochtends rond half […] acht wat lawaai van het binnenhof waar onze kamer aan grensden. Maar goed, we kwamer en niet om uit te slapen. De ligging is ook top ten opzichte van de bezienswaardigheden. Alles is heel goed te lopen. We hebben alleen een keer de metro genomen naar Vaticaanstad en hebben wel terug gelopen. Lisateave

Mycket bra hotell men även mycket litet. Endast 6 rum och reception på en våning i ett bostadshus. Frukost serveras på rummen vid tidpunkt man själv önskar. Hotellet har även gratis trådlös internetanslutning för samtliga rum. Rummen var mycket rena och med mycket god service. Det är dock ganska små rum och ett mycket litet badrum. Ingången till hotellet […] är låst 24 timmar om dygnet men det finns alltid personal i receptionen och man använder sig av ringklockan vid gatuingången för att bli insläppt. Detta innebär mycket god säkerhet. Kvarteren runt omkring är även de mycket säkra. Hotellet har nära till det mesta. Bra restauranger på ca 5-10 minuters gångväg, ca 10 minuter till Spanska trappan och Fontana di Trevi. Bussar och tunnelbana går ett kvarter bort vilket gör det lätt att komma till Colosseum eller Vatikanen. Vid resa till flygplatsen kan en hotelltaxi bokas för 50 euro. Det är även endast ca 15 minuters gångväg till centralstationen för att ta tåg eller buss till flygplatsen. Den enda nackdelen med hotellet är ljudnivån. Dörrar och fönster är mycket tunna. Man hör därför allt som sägs i reception och korridorer. Arbete på gatan och innergården utanför hörs även det mycket väl. Fantastisk service med allt som behövs och jag kan rekommendera detta som ett mycket bra prissatt och centralt hotell. För det pris som hotellet tar kan jag leva med den ibland något irriterande ljudnivån. Detta då hotellet är så litet och det blir därför inte så mycket spring i korridoren. The service is absolutely wonderful, and the staff is extremely kind and service minded to ensure the comfort of your stay. Continental breakfast is served on a tray in your room at any chosen time, and in addition you have the choice of buying eggs and bacon. It can certainly be advised that the hotel picks you up at the airport, if 3 people ore more.The train from the airport to Rome Central train station costs € 15 per person and in addition € 10 for a taxi from the main station to the hotel. If you choose to let you be picked up by the hotel, it costs a total of € 50, and it is possible to fit 8 people in the car. We strongly advice you to choose this hotel,which is kept very clean, and is extremely cosy.Look forward to staying there. The three Danish girls. Lisateave
