One very noisy room and one with threadbare carpets! Staff helpful though cleaners not up to scratch with trays left in the hallway for 12 hours. Prices in the bar are extortionate but the rooms are good value if you get a nice one.

The Thames Lodge has all the ingredients for a great hotel, but they are understaffed most of the time. The facilities are in good shape and they obviously invest in upgrading often, but the front desk needs more people. The cost of alcohol and food are also very high and we would not eat or drink there. Staines has many good pubs and restaurants that […] are cheaper, the hotel needs to follow suit. Lisateave

The hotel is located on the main road and as we approached Staines we found the hotel with ease - we did make one mistake when the Sat Nav took us left when we needed to turn right to access the hotel car park. We had to park on the pay and display on our return to the hotel after our night out as it was full and a coach was taking up a number of spaces. […] This meant an early rise to go and put money in the meter. Our room (71) was excellent and a very good size. The only down side was in the morning, we could hear water from the other bathrooms. This was quite loud. Reasonable hotel. Good location in staines, central and overlooking the river. Beds comfy. Only real downside is could benefit from double glazing as if you are a light sleeper you can hear trains in the distance.

I was looking for a hotel near to Twickham ahead of a rugby match and chose this based almost entirely on it's reasonable price. Having arrived before 10am I was told predictably that I was too early to check in. After a day in central London, only 30 minutes away by rail, I returned at 2245, slightly concerned hat I may be too late to check in. But […] I met with very pleasent and effivient service and checked in very easily. I found my room to be spacious and comfortable, with a large double bed and a sofa. The bathroom was a good size and was equipped with both a bath and a good shower. Following a very comfortable night's sleep I travelled to Twickenham for the rugby, again very easily accesible by rail. I would deffinitely recomend this hotel to anyone staying in the area, particularly those heading to Twickenham Lisateave

Friendly staff, clean room with comfortable bed. Front of hotel is on main road, so a lot of traffic noise if window open. Easy, free, parking at hotel.

Location very good, just a short walk into the town centre. Hotel is right on the river Thames so would be lovely in the summer to watch the rowing club opposite etc. The room was a little cold (was very cold outside though) but they had a little fan heater we could use in the room. We only stayed for one night and didn't have breakfast but the room was comfy and well stocked. Minor dislike was a dirty bedside table. Otherwise a pleasant stay with very helpful chap on the reception desk when we arrived. Our room overlooked the main road but we heard very little noise and the blackout curtains were amazing, the room was pitch black […] despite it being 10.30am! Lisateave

On a very hot week end there was no airconditioning at all. The bathroom extractor did not work. Breakfast is too expensive. There is not enough parking spaces. Drinks also too expensive.

The hotel is located in the heart of Staines. The building was a little worn but with the helpful staff and the clean rooms, my stay was flawless.

The hotel is very close to the town centre, and by the river. I booked the classic double room. It looks quite clean and comfortable. And it has 2 shower heads, hair dryer, towel heater, iron board, huge mirror, mini fridge, hot air blower (smells bad). However, there are NO windows but a door window facing directly to the road (and it is locked due […] to security reason). Yet I cannot find the air conditioner. There is nothing there, no shop; no restaurant; and 15 minutes walk to tube. But the hotel service people were nice and helpful.

Quick and friendly service. Room, although not particularly spacious, was clean and pleasantly furnished. Downsides were extremely limited hanging space and a 'quirky' arrangement of lighting controls.

It was a good choice, after 4 days boating in the Thames with my boyfriend and 2 of his friends, we needed sometime for ourselves. We enjoyed our one night of peace and quiet. we stayed here because it was near to lego windsor and also not far from chesington. Car park is small but we got parked without a problem. We had my son with us so had the sofabed as a bed which was made up on arrival and the TV had some kids channels which many dont. the hotel was warm, but we could open the windows and there was a fan in the room […] if we had needed it. the room had everything you needed including iron,kettle, air dryer and fridge. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and approachable. We atee in the reastuarnt 2 nights, they do a kids 3 course menu for £7, the adult menu is ok and the foos fine. It was even better for us as they take the TASTE card so all half price. There was a range of hot and cold food for breakfast, but the staff did let it down as they were not attentive to things running out. Overall we found it a good place to saty and I would use it again. Lisateave

This hotel was great, clean room with good furnishings. Breakfast in the riverside dining room was excellent. Only real critcisms would be the long walk to the room through a bit of a maze of corridors and the hot water wasn't great. Would definitely stay there again.

contrary to other reviews, my stay here was very pleasant. The hotel was clean, good rooms with all the basic amenities and the breakfast was extremely nice with lovely staff. The walk to the room may have been long but that wasnt a major problem for just one night.

We arrived; it was a nice entrance fake flowers in the vase though. Our room was about half a mile away. And then it was hot smelt like someone had left a poo in it and there was some left overs in the fridge and the traffic noise was too loud. We went back the half a mile to reception complained they said they had no more rooms then said there was […] one and they took us to the room and it turned out to be the room next door also hot! Didn’t smell of poo and had no ones left overs but it was intense heat. Then they took us to a room just up from reception. It was nicer but everything was dirty in the hotel it looked unkept. It was still really hot and noisy but we stayed there as the nearest hotel of its kind was 20 miles away. They didn’t offer to help move our bags to the other room. (Half a mile away, you think I’m joking don’t you) the food on the other hand was fantastic. We brought beers with us on our trip and went to put them in the mouldy fridge. Turns out the fridge was mouldy because it was off. They couldn’t fix it or give us another one so we got offered 2 drinks! Beer or wine it turns out but obviously that’s not really enough. So yea don’t stay, save your money and go to a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge, actually I think there is a Holiday Inn really close I’ve heard they are really good! Lisateave

Fungerade bra. Allt som man kan begära fungerade fint. Trevligt och fräscht. Bra frukost. Säkert fint om man är där på sommaren, ligger precis vid Themsen.

Excellent place for making day trips to London. Beautiful location on the River Thames away from the hustle and bustle of London City Centre. Frequent train service from Staines to London Waterloo. You can buy cheaper group train tickets which also entitle you to 2-for-1 discounts in many attractions. Excellent English breakfast served in a room overlooking […] the Thames. Lisateave
