I booked my stay at the Newport Channel Inn for my four day trip to California with my boyfriend. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady who explained to us all of the things we could do in the area as well as directions to Disneyland for us and the best places to eat in the area. She was very helpful and I was very grateful. It's […] in a perfect location! Right across the street from the beach, down the street from Newport Pier, Balboa Island and Huntington Beach. Disneyland was a short 25 minutes drive away! The only problems I had with my stay were the cleaning ladies. They brought their children with them while they cleaned and the kids were extremely loud. I could hear them running around and making all sorts of noise while I was still trying to sleep. They woke me up almost every morning. In addition to their noisy children, they would have their kids eating is the guests rooms on the tables and stuff. It made me feel a little uneasy. Other than that, the hotel was amazing and I would definitely go back on my next trip to Newport! Lisateave

Nice little hotel with great access to Newport surf spots. Front desk was very nice and helpful. Maids were nice Not a fancy place but if your not a yuppy looking to be pampered then stay here.

If you want inexpensive beach access this is it. If you're a high maintenance chick or guy that needs fancy pancy pool, pool bar, pool boys this is not the place for you. I've done that and work in hospitality for 20 years this resort is well run, clean, great location. Just be ready for the turn when going in to the parking lot. This place doesn't have tons of glitz, but it is a comfortable place to stay with decent amenities (parking, wifi, cable, refrig/microwave) and a superb location! The staff was friendly. When I go back to Orange county I will definitely see if this inn has vacancies.

We stayed here 1 night on a road trip from San Diego to San Francisco. We wanted one night in Orange County, near the beach (for a morning run). This hotel worked fine - clean room, friendly staff at front desk, free wifi and parking. My husband loved his 6 mile run along the boardwalk on the beach.

Terrible location in a curve - almost rear ended twice pulling into entrance. Staff was no help with restaurant suggestions - "dumb and dumber" - one front office staff told me there were no restaurants open Christmas day, even though we had already driven down to Balboa and found several good restaurants open. Both front office staff I talked to could […] not have gone past 8th grade but I guess that is typical for this part of CA. Definitely would not suggest anyone stay here - a real ripoff! Lisateave

Just used the room as a place to sleep. 1 out of 2 nights was noisy so bring your ear plugs.

We would stay here again. Our only complaint was that we were able to hear other guests upstairs and next door. Otherwise we were very pleased with this hotel. The beach across the street is beautiful and great restaurants in walking distance.

Overall I was really impressed with the place. Close to the beach, service was great, rooms clean, etc.. The only complaint/problem I had (and it's more of a heads up than a complaint) was that everything felt...wet, in the room. Room was clean and comfy! Hotel had chairs, towels, umbrellas, and boogie boards to take to the beach! We will make this our regular spot, as it was better than the Best Western and right next door!

The AC unit was spitting out something black all over the dresser and floor. Some of the staff at the front counter seemed happy to be done with you and get back to whatever they were doing in the backroom before we arrived to ask for some towels. We wanted a place close to the beach, but quiet too. We found the room to be very clean. It was comfortable and well set up for sharing. We plan on trying the hotel again in a warmer month.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The locations is perfect. The staff was also helpful it was a great addition to our weekend getaway. The beds are super comfortable. Stay here!!

This is a great bargain for the price with a 3 minute walk to the beach! It's not an upscale Hotel but the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot with lots of water pressure and the bathroom was clean and neat. There was a Hi Definition big screen TV, free WIFI, two nice "work desks" in the room and the guy working the front desk was very helpful and […] informative when it came to local restaurants and hot spots. We stayed for 2 nights. Beds were comfy n clean, shower was clean n drains worked (so many places the drains do not work properly), very friendly and informative hosts, super restaurants within walking distance, daily maid service, soda machine, towels for the beach are provided, walking distance to the beach, cute park to walk behind the place, parking […] no problem, non smoking in the rooms is always nice even tho I smoke. I have only nice things to say about the Newport Channel Inn. The hotel is quite cheap, located close to the beach and the staff was really friendly. It was the best hotel we stayed at (within its pricerange) during our entire west coast trip!

This is a renovated motel, 2 stories, on the busy Pacific Coast Highway so traffic noise is always there. But for a beach trip, a short walk to the beach was perfect. Compared to other hotel locations and prices, this is a good choice and the management is very nice.

This is a very nice and quiet hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The beach is a very short walk, and this hotel is perfect for a quiet getaway for a couple, or in our case, for a family. We usually stay at higher scale chain hotels, but we were thrilled with this hotel thanks to a nice clean room, and again, the wonderful staff.

Greit hotell uten frokostservering. Kort vei til stranda. Du må ha bil for å komme deg rundt i området da sentrum ikke er i gangavstand. Kjempegode senger. Var der i høytid og da var prisen noe høy.
