Moonrise Hotel - St. Louis

My wife and I stayed here in November 2011. We had tickets to a show at the Pageant, and chose this hotel because of its location and decent reviews. We loved the hotel. It was very nice, very clean, and found the service to be very good. We did not eat at the restaurant, and did not check out the other amenities. We just wanted a nice place to crash […] after the concert. For that, this hotel is perfect. The location was great- just steps away from the Pageant. The room was great (we expected the hotel to get a little loud after the show, but we heard nothing but silence). I would definitely stay at this hotel again the nice time I want to be in this neighborhood. Lisateave

I travel a ton, and the week I stayed at the Moonrise, it was the 4th hotel I'd been in that week, including a night at the Cosmo in Las Vegas. Even as the last hotel of the week, it stood out among three other great boutique hotels. The design, decor, service and quality were all outstanding, and at a value unmatched by many other hotels. I would have […] expected a rehabbed old hotel "boutiqued" up for that price, not a new construction property. Sitting right next to the Pageant in the Delmar loop, walking distance from several great restaurants, the Moonrise reminded me about the cool St. Louis I moved away from 15 years ago. Lisateave

What an exciting new place to visit. Chic, trendy and within the Delmar Loop which is always a great place to visit. We had a wonderful stay at the Moonrise. Can't wait to return in warmer weather and visit the roof top bar...!

This hotel is in a great location convenient to shops, boutiques, restaurants, and entertainment. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the hotel was beautiful. I will definitely be back to visit.

Loved the hotel, location, comfort but they missed on following through on the wake up call. I was late to the meeting I'd come to St. Louis to attend.

Great location next to the Pageant concert venue. Terrific staff from the front desk to room service. Super clean and quiet room. Convenient valet parking and Delmar is a fun street to explore the next day. This will be our new base hotel when visiting St. Louis.

We stayed here on a college visit trip and had no idea what to expect. Check-in was not good - poor service. But after that everything was exceptional - the room - the amentities - the bath products everything was excellent. Even breakfast the next morning - EXCELLENT! The Moonrise is a very cute, little boutique hotel in a fun St. Louis neighborhood. It's definitely off the beaten path. The staff are outstanding and incredibly friendly. My only complaint, and it's a big one, is the parking. They having a parking lot in the back. However, it is completely full because of the surrounding nightlife. I had to pay $17 […] a night to valet park for the 4 nights I was there. There were sections of the back parking lot roped off and restricted to hotel valet. These sections were largely empty and I could see my lonely car parked in it's expensive spot from my hotel room window. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. Great place, rooftop bar was a treat.

Had great and friendly room service! They called us many times to get our order and to update us with the time. Great knowledgeable staff! Overall best weekend I had! I fell in love with st Louis and my girl friend all in one weekend! Thank you for making our stay so wonderful and being one of the readiness had one of the best trips we ever had!

Awesome stay...been in many hotels and this was one of the funkier ones I've stayed at. Staff was super friendly and the locale was perfect. Went to Blueberry Hill for dinner...yummy cheeseburgers and the pageant for a concert. Would love to go back!!

Booked a night at Moonrise Hotel because of the roof top bar. It rained that afternoon so they decided to not open the roof top bar that night. It was disappointed but instead we went to the bar downstairs and had a good time. Overall, a very cool and modern hotel.

Super accommodating - they make such an effort to please. Remembering your name, offering an umbrella for the day, etc... A great stay. I will definitely stay again and recommend to others. Fun shops on Delmar and close to everything. Loved it.

Extremely friendly staff. Excellent decor. Clean, comfortable rooms. Very powerful climate control (always an important detail for warm-blooded people like myself). The restaurant is nice and the food is good, even if it is pretty overpriced. There's a dozen great restaurants in walking distance. Parking is a little odd; it's in a small parking lot […] behind the hotel, requiring a walk past the dumpsters (really?) and then through a carport tunnel to get into the hotel, but there were always plenty of spots. This is definitely my first choice if I ever come through St Louis again. Lisateave

This is by far one of my favorite boutique hotels in the country! Reminds me of NYC and/or SF boutiques at 1/3 the cost and better service! Great to walk around the "loop" area for food and sight seeing.

From the time we arrived to the hotel till the time we left all levels of the personal were extremely pleasant and very helpful. When we return next year we plan on staying at Moorise Hotel and booking through Hotel.com.

My daughter and I were visiting Washington University and the Moonrise was very convenient to campus and location gave a very good feel for student life away from campus. Hotel was clean, comfortable and staff very courteous. And, contrary to a guest from L:ittle Rock (8/11) who was there at the same time, parking was adequate and easily accessible […] (self and valet). Lisateave

How do I go back to regular hotels now? Excellent place with the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting St. Louis for business or pleasure.

My wife and I really like the hotel. The staff and the hotel was excellent. We had never been to the Delmar loop, but did not care for the area. We did not feel safe walking around at night.

The hotel was great. The rooftop bar is super cool with a wonderful view. The room was clean, comfy and quite hip. The only complaint was that I was quite rudely awakened to the sound of incessent hammering at about 8AM that did not stop before we checked out at noon. I would have liked to enjoy my comfy sleep in that bed!

I really enjoyed the Moonrise Hotel. The bed was so comfortable, and the room service breakfast was delicious. The hotel seemed a little noisy, but there was a sound machine in our room, and that helped us to sleep soundly. The bathroom was not what I had hoped for, but only because there was not a lot of counter space, and I had to keep my shower essentials […] on the floor of the shower. I liked the roof top bar (the view was great), but I feel the crowd ruined the atmosphere a lot. Anyone can go to the bar, and as hotel guests, we could not find anywhere to sit. We preferred the Blueberry Hill bar just down the street. Parking was a mess at the Moonrise. There is valet parking, but for the price, I would expect there to be covered parking and not just a roped off section of the public parking lot. The rest of the parking is open to the public, and if there is an event going on near by, you may not get a free spot. The hotel is located in the Loop, which is a charming collection of vintage shops, restaurants, bars, and cute boutiques, but the atmosphere definitely brings in the "hipster" crowd. The hotel is just a few minute drive from Forest Park, which was really nice. Overall, the hotel was pretty much what I expected for the price (which was more than what I usually go for). Lisateave

Very nice hotel, excellent location, and great service!!

Great location to walk to dinner or drinks. Party on the rooftop after sun down, jump on the Metrolink and go to the baseball game, downtown, casinos, eastside, airport, etc..... A really nice clean interesting hotel for those looking for some suprises and adventure.

We rolled in to see Chuck Berry across the street at Blueberryhill, and got in late. We were starved after driving for 4 hours and happy to find a first class restaurant and bar open late.

had never been to st. louis before, so checked into this hotel based on reviews. located in the trendy university district, this is an excellent boutique hotel, a vibe very much like a W hotel. Rooms are very clean, and current. very comfortable beds with high thread count linen. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Lots of restaurants in area. […] had to try pi pizzeria, and was very impressed. short transit hop of about 15 minutes to right downtown. The hotel is a great hotel with a super rooftop bar. My only complaint from our recent stay is that the shower stall is quite small. A bit more room would have been good.

The staff are amazing, the rooms great, interesting neighborhood. We stay at the Moonrise on every trip to St. Louis....highly recommend this hotel!

The staff provided us with excellent service especially giving directions on how to get to our various destinations during our "sisters" weekend. They even made reservations for us at a quality restaurant on The Hill and knew which one had gluten free pasta available! The Loop area was also a fun place to stay, eat and shop.

We booked 2 rooms at the Moonrise Hotel in the Loop in St. Louis for my 30th Birthday. This place is an 8 story boutique hotel with a lunar theme. It has themed rooms, restaurant, and roof top patio bar with an amazing view. The service was stellar and everyone polite and professional. Our rooms were comfortable, spacious, and modern. The bed was extremely […] comfortable. When we walked into the room I was surprised with balloons and a Birthday card from the staff with all of the staffs' signatures and two free drink tickets!! I was blown away by this. We had a few drinks at the restaurant bar before going out and the bartender was nice and knowledgeable. We ended up at the rooftop bar later, which was a little busy but the server was nice and music and drinks were good. Valet was excellent and quick and the front desk clerk got us in and out quickly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay near the loop. It would also be great for a romantic weekend. Check out the Pinup Bowl while you're there. The moonrise was amazing! Great service, everyone was super nice. The food is delicious! 24 hour room service. We went to a show at the pageant which is litterly 50 feet from the hotel so it was convient. And we had time to walk around the downtown shops. The whole experience was simply perfect!

I especially like staying at unique boutique hotels, and The Moonrise did not disappoint. As other reviewers have said, the bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows are really big (ask for flatter ones at the front desk if you think you'll have issues sleeping on them). The room was really clean and larger than I had expected. There was a nifty […] white noise machine on one of the bedside tables that was really great. We didn't have any sound issues, but you could hear hallway doors opening and closing occasionally (typical of all hotels) and we heard a dog bark once and only once. Anyway, it's a very nice hotel. I had also thought of staying at The Four Seasons, but am glad that we decided to stay here. Lisateave
