We had an amazing time. Christina was more than helpful and knew a lot about the area. It was an awesome location. We had a quiet end room and it was amazing. The only thing I would recommend is they move the lamps above the dinner table because you can't see the television. Other than that we definitely want to stay again.!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Village Lodge. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was in good condition and my husband especially loved the really deep bath. The only slight negative was that we couldn't control the heating in the room and at night it did get rather hot (our stay was only mid May). The hotel/condo was good for our needs -- easy access to the gondola and ski slopes and a pool for post-skiing play with a six year old. Read the fine print re the $20 resort fee per night -- that surprised us at checkout. Not a super sound - proof building -- the place was only 40% full when we were there but I could hear neighbors moving around. More […] hotel-y than condo-y in that regard but if you can get a good rate, it seems good for Mammoth. Room was noisy and AV/TV/internet equipment was broken or impossible to use. Staff was fine but had the usual Alpine attitude, like this is a part time job during the ski season. Location is perfect.

Decor of the rooms is very blah, not modern, and quality of the furnishings is low. Sofa and chairs are not comfortable at all, but the bed was very good. The kitchen is nice. Overall I'd say the room is just OK, more than I'd really like to pay for the quality. However, the convenience to lifts and amenities can't be beat and the staff was extremely […] nice and helpful. Underground parking is great, provided good peace of mind when parking our new truck! Anyone sensitive to noise (especially if you are not able to use earplugs as I am) should know there is noise outside the windows which face into the Village shops area - particularly on Fri/Sat where there were idiots outside yelling until 2 am or so. The service was awesome! Each unit is owned though so I guess decor and specific room amenities can vary. For example, we had a clothes washer/dryer in our unit which came in handy. It was loud, but my kids got altitude sickness so totally convenient. We went up for a ski weekend and were expecting cool/cold temperatures, but were surprised that the […] unit was really warm...stifling even. We had to open the door to the balcony to cool the rooms out a little. We spoke with some other guests and it seemed like we all had the same issue with the heat though. The only other inconvenience was that the DVD player in our unit did not work properly. We called Maintenance and they could not fix the problem either. The batteries in some of the remote controls seemed to be dead also. But, still, this was the nices condo we've stayed at in Mammoth and you can't be the location. I can imagine that the noise from the restaurants below the units might be bothersome, but we didn't mind as we were there from Sunday-Wednesday, the more quiet nights. The rooms show a little wear, but are overall very clean and comfortable. The location is great. Right in the center of town close to shopping and food. The gondola is right at your feet and drops you at Canyon Lodge. The bed was super!

The Good: This hotel is right in town making the access to shops, restaurants, bars, & the gondola to the mountain literally steps from your room. There are several large jacuzzis, so you can usually find an empty one for a relaxing soak. Our room was very clean. The Bad: This is an expensive hotel, and for that high of a price, I expect better conditions. […] The room was showing age. Large frayed spot in the carpet (actually a hole!). Dingy couches. Even the in-room robes were frayed. And the bed was uncomfortable. Overall: If the hotel were to just do some maintenance to make the high price worth it, this would be a stellar place to stay. Great "ski in - ski out" location, definitely worth the money. The village has everything you might need, including covered garage. We loved the room, full kitchen, though we didn't need it for one night. Staff was great - but the room was warm and even with help from the staff, we couldn't get it cool enough for us to sleep well (even in early November).

An excellent place to stay,te room was no where near new but had obviously had several updates keeping things in good condition, friendly staff and a free shuttle bus down to a restaurant added to the experience.located in a super position yet easy to find. Disappointed in the room. Bed was pull-down Murphy mattress and felt like we were camping on our tent cots! Radiant floor heating not adjustable and room was overly warm. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing stay, this is not the place. From the beginning we were met rudely by the desk staff, perhaps because we rode in on a motorcycle, who knows. The room at first glance was very nice, clean well kept. However, it was right above a bar which closes at 2AM of course and the noise, shouting,and yelling didn't stop until […] then. So if you go to bed expecting sleep anytime before 2AM. Forget about it. When we complained about it the staff was indifferent and not willing to help in anyway. My wife and I have been going to Mammoth for more than 30 years and this was our first stay in the Village. We were pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. The Staff was great and the Room was better than expected. I would recommend this to others.

Very unprofessional staff at front desk. Hotel failed to acknowledge that I have stayed there before. The man checking me in treated me like I was a 2 year old & didn't really belong there. Also pool hours are fixed so that you really have NO time for a dip in the morning. Pool opens at 10, with 11am check out. Like so many upscale properties in Mammoth […] they really don't give a rip about you. I was first given a room above a bar, & facing other units. Noisy & no privacy. I had really enjoyed my previous stays, but after a phoney sounding apology from the MOD, I am seriously wondering if I'll stay here again. The location is great, but it's not cheap. Lisateave

My husband and I had a really nice time staying at this hotel. We loved having a full kitchen in the condo to be able to cook and save a little money by doing so. The staff was very helpful in terms of directing us and letting us know what free services were available in the area, as well as good hiking areas. The only problem that we ran into was related […] to the timeliness of maintenance help. When we arrived at the hotel the toilet was clogged, and we requested that someone come to fix it for us as there was not a plunger in the room. Nobody ended up coming to the room or following up after calling three times. My husband and I had to fix it ourselves, which was a little disappointing. Overall, we had a really nice time. Was there for the High Sierra Century bike ride. Location prefect any other riding including mountain bike riding. Glad I brought both the road and mountain bike.

I was disappointed with Hotels.com for not warning me of the extra $45 guest fee. I've never had this charge before when using Hotels.com. Other than the extra charge everything was nice. Great location.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience at the hotel. Our room was right near the jacuzzi which made it easily accessible..and parking underground was easy access for us to bring our mountain bikes from the car to room. We stayed a week after Labor Day so it was pretty dead at The Village, but that's what made it very peaceful. We were visiting from the UK travelling the loop from San Francisco! The Village Hotel was a random choice as a leg of our journey via Las Vegas . We landed the jackpot here! The four of us (my wife and two teenage children) were very comfortable in the room. The resort itself is set in a beautiful location and we partly regret not staying longer than […] just our one night as there is so much to see and do. The price was very reasonable indeed when you look at what you get. We did get a free upgrade to a condo room which made the stay all the more special. I would highly recommend the resort for a young adventurous family or just a relaxing stay in stunning surroundings with all the amenities you could possible need. Lisateave

The Village Lodge has a wonderful location in the heart of Mammoth Village, where there are all kinds of activities and events for families. The pool is beautiful and the lodge showed a movie for kids one night in the viewing room. We were very disappointed with the heat of the room and we got very little sleep due to the partying in the plaza right off our room. Lots of people drinking and being extremely noisey until about 2:00a.m. Then an hour or two later the street cleaners/garbage cleanup came thru making horrendous amounts of noise dumping trash, glass, cans, etc! It's a nice place and very conveniently located. The rooms seemed a little tight, but clean and nice enough. The hotel staff was also friendly. There is no a/c in the bedrooms (at least not in ours), which made leaving the window open at night essential. Well, the restaurants and bars are right under neath you, so you are up as late as everyone outside […] is up. For us, that was 2am-3am each night. No rest. This is a great location that offers a few great things to do. Our daughter is almost 2 and there were sand boxes, the pool, and a lot of walking around she could do, which made our vacation more enjoyable!
