Aloft Chicago O'Hare - Chicago

We have stayed here twice now since my wife liked it so much the first time. We had some kind of deal when we stayed there initially. We could have stayed somewhere else for much cheaper but the base price really isn't too bad for the area because of the pricing decisions the hotel made. What I like- We love the hotel. The style is neat but also very […] functional. The space in the lobby with the bar and nice chairs and pool table area etc. is very nice. It's great to have a nice little bar to have a drink at when getting back to the hotel at night. Someone mentioned the rooms are smaller, they are a little but that does not bother us at all, it's just fine with two people. I like the whole setup of the room, the bathroom/shower, the desk, the open shelves. Cool location. The blue line train is very close and we used that several times on one trip which was convenient. We took the airport shuttle there to avoid paying for parking multiple times. The TV input box that accepts HDMI, RCA, VGA Dsub and 35mm audio inputs so you can plug your laptop into the TV very easily. I haven't yet brought a cable to use it yet but it's an awesome feature. Wireless internet. We were on the 6th floor and had a good wireless connection. You just need to fill in a short form in your browser to use it and it's no extra charge. The bed looks like basically a cheap mattress on a board but it's actually comfortable and the comforter and pillows are really comfortable. What I don't like- Tolls: If you follow the signs, you can't exit 294 on Balmoral to get to the hotel unless you have i-pass. The hotel is right there! Otherwise the location would be really convenient. There is no cash toll booth. I find the tolls in the area ridiculous. They wouldn't bother me so much if I knew there was a toll coming because then I might actually have some coins prepared. Sometimes your only choice is to run the toll and see what happens. Nice, nice hotel with great shuttle service. We needed to get to the airport by 3:45 am and the van driver got us there with no issues. Rooms were super and the bar seemed fun, but I didn't actually have an opportunity to visit. I'd definitely stay here again if I needed airport access.

Very clean. Super helpful hotel attendants. Great shuttle service.

Even though the hotel is close to ORD, it is really in a weird spot and I had to drive past it twice before I realized where to go.

This was an amazing hotel to stay at for a low price in the Chicago area. Very conveniently located near downtown. A breath of fresh air from the normal discount rate hotel chain. Would definitely stay at this or any other Aloft hotel in the future. LOVED the contemporary design and the room layout. I have no complaints at all!

Not bad, just seems cheaply made. My room air conditioning didn't work. Bedding was messy, pulled the cover off and all the sheets fell to the floor exposing a blood stained mattress. Grossed out for sure. Changed rooms easily and didn't check the new mattress out of fear. Overall not bad and close to ord. Hotel staff was very friendly. Room just dirty […] :( Lisateave

I was there for one night to attend an Expo the following day at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, which is pretty much right across the street. Therefore, I didn't have to move my vehicle to another garage, saving me an additional parking fee. Very nice lounge, bar, and restaurant. Great value for location and convenience. My only complaints...not enough insulation in the walls, as I was able to hear noise in the halls, and the ironing board was terrible; they should provide full-size ironing boards. Lisateave

Title says it all. It was an excellent value for the price, close to O'Hare (although we weren't flying), shuttle service to area restaurants, nice lounge, no on-site restaurant. My only real issue was that it is maybe a little too modern in decor. As an example - the pool area. The walls of the restroom near the pool were frosted glass. My son used […] it, and while I couldn't see detail, I could tell exactly what he was doing the entire time. It would be difficult for a woman to retain her modesty using this restroom (especially if she were in a one-piece suit). Similarly, there was a frosted glass panel between our shower and our bedroom. Lisateave

Not a lot of storage for your clothes at all, not even a drawer. The shower is cool however the water flows all over the bathroom floor & into the sink area (gap underneath the shower door is too big!). Oh yeah and DO NOT take a room ending in 52, your bedroom will e clearly visible to those waiting for an elevator.

This was a nice hotel for the money. It's VERY close to O'Hare, and that's why we chose it. The bed was comfortable, decorated simply and tastefully. Air freshener scent is too strong in the hallways though. I had read that they had free parking, and that wasn't true. It was $13/night. Overall, a good value. I'd give it a 7.

I was forced to overnight in O'Hare due to flight cancellations, and booked the A-Loft through hotels.com for a very competitive price (for O'Hare hotels). They have a free shuttle that runs ever 30 minutes, and I only waited 10. Quick and friendly check-in and the room was wonderfully comfortable. A very European feel with all rectilinear desk, sofa, […] and bathroom -- felt like I was living in a set for Architectural Digest. Bed was very comfortable and great pillows. I didn't get a chance to spend much time in the lobby/bar area, though as it is all concrete and sharp features, it was loud (the pool table didn't help) but it looked very hip and trendy. Couldn't tell if the people in it were locals or travelers, but there seemed to be quite a number of people waiting for the shuttles in the morning who were regulars. There are also shuttles to local things, like a film center and some local restaurants, as well as (I presume) the Rosemont Theater -- seems they have them because this is a very pedestrian-UNfriendly area. Think corporate park with parking structures. I heard there was a brewpub within a mile, but I hardly was encouraged to seek it out. But if you are staying over night at O'Hare, this is a GREAT hotel. Breakfast is a la carte, and a bit expensive, but not moreso than the airport options. The pool looked quite lovely, though it is one of those where you are 'on display' to the main bar (across a small courtyard). Lisateave

during our stay the fridge was not working but was replaced the same day...also the cleaning staff forgot to leave us any towels, called the front desk and said they ll send someone right away but that never happen....oh well next time I will lower my expectations.

The Hotel was unique and very stylish. Late night arrivals were no issues and the Staff was very friendly and helpful. Kudo's to the Bartender that stayed late for us Late Night Patrons and was extremely social and friendly! Rooms were somewhat "spartan" but very comfortablble! This hotel advertises itself as family friendly-offering free board games in the lobby, for example. We decided to take them up on the offer, but could not find a single game with enough pieces remaining to actually play. We decided to watch music videos on the lobby television instead but we were approached by the bartender who advised us we could […] not sit there unless we bought something from the bar. We showed her the sodas we had brought from our room and said we didn't need anything. She told us we would have to leave. There are no vending machines at this property, only an overpriced (think airport prices) snack bar with the same packaged foods you would find at a vending machine, only at a much higher cost. The rooms are nice and very modern but the minimalist design leaves out drawers. There is a small closet "area" for hanging a few garments but one heavy coat will consume half the available space. OK, if you don't mind living out of your suitcase, I guess. If you are driving your own car budget an Andrew Jackson for parking. They advertise half that as a daily rate but a new day starts at midnight so you will pay for two days even if you spend just one night. I travel a lot and I know Chicago is not known for its hospitality. This hotel fits right in. If you are travelling with children, I would suggest you try somewhere else. Traveling on business? better deals and hospitality are available elsewhere. Romantic getaway? Well, maybe but, bring your wallet for breakfast and parking. Lisateave

Beautiful and luxe only minus point no restaurant available. Food can be delivered but that is not my favourite diner.

I was pleased with everything except a few minor things. I picked a magazine up in the room to read it and it was dusty, so i put it back. The ice machine is located on the 2nd floor and not on every floor. The microwave is located on the 1st floor (an inconvenience for the guest) i feel, Once you are in your room and comfortable you dont want to go […] to the 1st flr to warm up food. I understand with the economy everyone has to cut back. I asked at the front desk was there a walgreens in the area because i needed a toothbrush and toothepaste..she gave me 1 of each:)!!!!!! owe and no plastic bags for the ice bucket? overall nice stay tho! My wife and I had a great stay! This is a very trendy, modern hotel. There is a really cool bar, pool table, and board games available in their chic lobby. The elevator lighting is lots of fun. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was bliss. Nice, big flat-screen TV (with an adaptor for other media) and free WiFi which is kind of hard to […] find nowadays. Surrounding neighborhood is lots of highways and parking lots, but their shuttle driver will basically take you anywhere you want. Lisateave

That's carrying the budget/Euro-chic concept a little far. Otherwise, this is a pleasant enough airport hotel, if you like ultra-violet Virgin America style lighting everywhere.

If you are looking to stay at a trendy hotel. Then the Aloft Rosemont is the place for you. I stayed here NYE. I attended a party at the Rosemont Theater. The hotel is walking distance to the thither but it was a cold December night so I opted for the FREE shuttle. Check in was easy and fast. The room was nice(construction on the roads). shuttle from the airport was very handy. This is an ultra modern hotel and completely met my needs after a flight from Providence. Wish there had been more restaurant choices near by.

Nice Starwood Property. Clean rooms, great layout of room so the bed is in the back of the room with the bathroom in the front. Very quiet room, refrigerator included and good size flat screen TV. Sorry our stay was just to sleep to catch a flight, will definitely return when traveling!

Well-designed and vast rooms, with a few flaws: flat-screen TV with a very bad picture (but I don't watch much TV), shower drain badly maintained and dirty (kept feet out of it), but what bothered me was the smell of smoke as I entered the room. Surprising for a non-smoking hotel room with smoke detectors. I understood the cause of it the next morning, […] the smoke was coming from the electric ventilator above the toilet/shower. Great Hotel, and very pet friendly. We have a small dog and they have a convenient dog walking area that is fenced. Most of the hotels in the area charge for parking, as this on does, but they do not charge for pets, so money saved their. I will stay here again, with or without my dog. I got this hotel online cause it was a LOT cheaper than any of the others for the night near O'Hare. To my surprise, it was really cool. It had a unique "lofty" feel. The staff was really friendly...I arrived at 2am and they were there and checked me in, helped me with my internet and recommended cold medicine for my cough! ha. As a hotel designer I was very impressed!

On a cold Chicago day after travel delays and meetings, I was looking forward to a warm cozy hotel bed. But no, I arrive to my room to find that the heat was not turned on and the bedside lights were inopperable. And to top it off, had to pay additional parking fee in order to park in front of the hotel. A long walk from the parking garage would still […] have cost me $20. We stayed here for 1 night, upon arriving we found out about the $20 parking fee. The room was clean, but the bed was not comfortable at all. It had old sheets that didn't even fit correctly, had to keep putting the bottom sheet back on all night. When checking out, we thought we had lost our parking pass, and was told by the front desk that we better […] find it, or there would be a $100 fee! After checking the room again, we did find it. It didn't say anything about a $100 fee on the pass! With so many other choices & places to stay in Rosemont, we will definitely not choose the Aloft next time. Lisateave

We wanted a place to stay near Chicago without the prices associated with being in the city. A'loft looked like a fun hip hotel to try out. The decor was great and the room looked nice. Very friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable and modern rooms and facilities. Although not very close to downtown chicago the hotel provide a great minibus service that will take you to the train station to get there quickly and easily. The minibus services also takes you to and from the airport as well as a number of local resturants which i didnt […] expect. This hotel is very neat and have good service. They have shuttle to the subway. If you want to walk it is only 2-4 mintues from the hotel. Me and my girl friend had good time there.

This hotel was awesome to stay at! It has a real lounge feel to it on the main floors with dark lighting, a bar, and lots of seating. The room is super modern sexy with wonderful lighting, a unique bathroom layout, and the decor. I noticed some issues that would come up if someone used this room for a business trip (like the closet wasn't full length) […] and it's not the type of room I would want to share with a coworker. That being said, I would love to stay there again alone, with friends, or a significant other. The proximity to the airport was phenomenal and the staff was nothing but courteous. A+ Lisateave

It was not what I thought it would be. The room and accommodations along with size was less than standard there was also a cracked mirror door. And a charge for parking that I was unaware of.

Quick and easy check in and check out. Very comfortable bed, slept well. Lively bar scene on a Wednesday night, but couldn't hear it when I went to my room. Everyone was quite friendly and helpful. ALoft O'hare has urban swank for an airport hotel. The staff is always busy and upbeat. The common areas contemporary and cozy. I chose this hotel for convenience factor. Entry onto I-294 is yards away. As is I-90 and I-190. The Rosemont convention center is across the street. PARKING if Horrible. I "Valet" parked, for $26/day. Which meant I could park […] right outside the hotel front door, in one of 13 spaces, rather than walk from the huge parking garage shared by the movie theater and a few other businesses near the hotel. The views from the rooms are either of this huge cement parking garage, or of I-294 and all the construction surrounding the hotel. Rooms are teeny-tiny, but the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is large. Lisateave
