Casa Loma Motel on the Waterfront - Cape Coral

This hotel was an older hotel, but we were satisfied with our stay. The kitchenette was dated but did the trick. We had a second floor balcony room that faced west and the sunset was awesome. They could use a better breakfast though. It is directly across the road from a small bar and grill which was nice.

It was very clean and nice.

It was a nice place, friendly staff, nice location. Rooms are a bit older looking but maids cleaned nicely. Not any utensils for cooking, just a few plates, breakfast bowls, silverware. Could've used a cutting knife, colander, spatula, serving size bowl.

Great location. Could take a nice walk in the am around the neighbor hood. Only downfall. Friends. Couldn't hook up to Internet on computer.

rm 220 - batroom sink didn't drain correctly, rugs were old and filthy, recliners need to be replaced, TV probably 30 years old, kitchen was adequite.

We were extremely pleased with the hotel and staff. If we need to stay at a hotel in Cape Coral or know of someone who will be, we would recommend highly.

For our 2yrs. My boyfriend and I stayed at the casa loma, we had a relaxing weekend layed by the pool fished @ night, only thing that could have been better were the beds, very hard we didn't sleep well at all, which made us want to hurry home to get a good nights sleep hindering us from staying longer!

Worth the extra few dollars to have a room facing the canal! We were very happy with our accommodations. Clean room, helpful staff. I LOVED opening our back door and seeing the pool, deck, tiki hut and canal. Nice little pub next door (discount for guests of Casa Loma). Very nice, we'll certainly consider a return trip.

Casa Loma is conveniently located, easy drive to Sanibel-Captiva and Ft. Myers. We suggest staying on the "water side" as the hotel front might be experience traffic noise. Plan on eating breakfast elsewhere- fare is tiny packaged muffins and oatmeal packets with hot water, no milk!

The walls lack insulation. You could hear everything in the next room. Hard to sleep with all the action in next room.

My wife and I, and a small group of friends stayed here for a beach getaway weekend. Aside from the traffic, the ride to either Sanibel or Estero Blvd was quick and easy. Also, there is an Italian eating place near by , that was amazing. Had a two night stay here and it was very comfortable and conveinient. The little kitchenette is handy if you need it and the little extra charge is worth a room on the water.

Customer service and location was great. Hotel very nice and clean, but needs to be updated.

Units may need a little updating, but it was quaint, clean and quiet. Convenient to shopping and reasonable ride to Sanibel Island and Ft. Myers.

This is an older hotel located directly on the canal. The grounds and pool are very nice. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Clean room, but a bit dated furnishings. Continental breakfast is basic --wrapped pastries and cereal. Free WiFi and free parking. Perfect for those who only need a place to regroup & sleep before a day full of activities. The matresses were saggy and need to be replaced. Our room had a nice small kitchentte (which we didn't need)

Pleasant staff; clean; good location; needs remodeling.

Nice view of pool and canal if room is on that side but street rooms very noisy. Staff was happy to move us.

Our first night we were given room 122 and it was terrible. The carpet was very stained, the sink was cracked, faucet kept dripping, and there was a huge rust stain behind the toilet. We asked to be switched as there was also no chair to even sit and read but were told we could not move. The next morning, after complaining, we were given room 222 and […] it was much better. However, the door to the outside would not open. I am sure the other rooms facing the water were better but I would never stay there again. Continental breakfast is a laugh. Lisateave

The motel is located in a very nice area with beautiful view from the pool and the rooms facing the water. Rooms facing the road are kind of noisy and much less interesting. The motel wasn't clean. There was dirt in the walls. The kitchen hadn't been cleaned in forever. The waterfront view is nothing. It's a channel with a few boats docked along the sides. “Lovely pool & landscaping, Friendly staff, dated rooms/decor” We stayed in a double waterfront efficiency room this weekend. The view from our balcony was lovely of the canal and the pool deck. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the grounds were impeccable. Also, we did not hear any noises through the walls […] like in some more cheaply constructed buildings. Our room was equipped with a stove top, microwave, fridge, dishes and coffee carafe/coffee. The room decor, television set and bathroom facilities could all use an update, as they are quite outdated--but that is the only negative thing we can say. Free Parking, Free WiFi. And the toiletry products were very high quality! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Definitely pay the upgrade for waterfront--well worth it Lisateave

What a great place to stay! Our room opened onto a secluded patio off the pool area with a beautiful view of the canal. The staff was friendly and gracious. The AC was great, the kitchenette very convenient. I look forward to my next stay there.

The Casa Loma on the website looks beautiful. The outside has been redone but the inside of the rooms was not good. First, there's no secure entrance to the rooms--just walk down the hall to them. The condition of the rooms not only needed updates, but the condition of the them was poor--old and stained carpeting, no flat screen tv which was the least […] of my worries, holes in the blankets and stains on the pilly/worn sheets. The continental breakfast consisted of prepacked minimuffins and rolls that you would purchase at a convenience store along with fruit, beverages, and oatmeal packs--but where to microwave the cereal? I think I've said enough but would not recommend this hotel. When checking out I mentioned these conditions to the clerk and the response I heard was'we keep hearing this but the management say they are going to fix them'. Also, you had to pay a toll to get to the hotel from the main road. I would never try to book through sites like this again. Lisateave

bed was as hard as a rock

A great value for the money. Very comfortable, but the rooms were dated and could use a makeover. All the necessary appliances and features for an extended stay.

This is a nice, low priced hotel. Be sure to pay up a little to be on the canal side. This makes it a vacation, and not just a room. Staff is friendly. Breakfat is minimal. Pool is nice. Room was large and clean, though somewhat dated. I recommend the Casa Loma.

Went there for 46 anniversary and Xmas. Wonderful. Room on 2nd floor directly overlooking Channel and peacefulbeyond words. sat for hours onhe dock and watched fish by the hundreds jump out of the water. Was an absolutley wonderful place to recharge. Kelly in office was wonderful and we plan to go many times again. Great sea water pool. Watching the […] sunset with Pina Colatas can't beat a better Christmas. Lisateave

The Casa Loma is conveniently located in Cape Coral. It is not the most up to date hotel, but it has good service and is a good value. The rooms are efficiencies, which is very helpful; a stove and oven go a long way to creating comfort in multiple night stays. The room did not have a microwave, but the hotel web site advertises that they are provided […] upon request. The kitchen accomodations were adequate without the microwave. The room was clean, rather spacious, very affordable. It is an older hotel, with very basic appliances and furnishings, but if you are looking for a clean, cheap room, this hotel meets the requirements. The staff was excellent. Check-in time is 3 p.m., but I called early that morning and asked if we could check in early. The staff allowed us to check in at 9 a.m., which was immensely helpful to us and beyond generous. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. In my view, excellent service is more valuable than the most up to date furnishings. Lisateave

Just spent two nights at the Casa Loma on the recommendation of friends. It definitely lived up to my expectations and is a nice find in Cape Coral. I would refer others and would stay here again, however, I would like to see the attention applied to the exterior also applied to the interior. It would not take much of a financial investment to "spiff […] up" the guest rooms. What we call "deep-cleaning" in the hotel business would benefit this property greatly. (Yes, I too am involved in hotels in a different state and understand what's involved). The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, well-done. Lisateave

I didn't want to pay alot since we only needed a bed to sleep for 6 hours. We had to switch rooms because the first one looked and smelled as if it was used for a "quick stop". Very gross. The second room was a little better. Wouldn't return there.

Nice, friendly little hotel, but it needs updating. The staff members are very helpful and friendly, and our room had lovely view down the canal. The beds are clean and comfortable, but the carpets a bit shabby. All in all a pleasant stay.

The hotel looks good on outside. Inside is very lacking...needs updated from 1970! Lights not working in room...bed not so wonderful.....NO MICROWAVE in room as promised from hotels.com representative, we asked hotel about it...they said they don't supply microwave for rooms. Staff brought new towels but left old dirty ones in bathroom the whole week. […] We will be staying in this area due to a new job and living 2 hrs away...but was going 2 give them another chance altho when I called 2 get pricing they wanted over $60 more dollars than what I paid last week when I stayed there and the Manager was flat out RUDE....never again...found a travelodge down the road for much cheaper and has ALL the amentities that we requested and is actually a lot nicer even though they are updating it again now. Really enjoyed our stay.. Hotel rather dated, but pleasantly so! Very clean , and good staff - shortly after checking in we had 2 problems - a lock that wouldn't work, then the fridge not working. both were rectified immediately, which is very nice to report. We read recommendations for booking a room on the waterside rather than the roadside, which […] could be noisy. We did this and the water view was really great to waken up to each morning. The motel is at the head of a water channel, with nice boats moored up, facing directly down the length of the water and the sun set directly in the centre, at the end of the channel - which was a a great view. It had its own fishing pier and a nice swimming pool wih ampe car parking, yet within walking range of several restaurants. SHame obout thebreakfast - just coffee, juice and 2 choices of pre-packed danish pastries. With a better breakfast menu and after the planned refurbishing it could be well worth 3 or possibly even 3.5 stars. Lisateave

Loved this hotel. It was clean comfortable and at an affordable price. Especially loved the little patio overlooking the canal, wonderful!

Great location with a good restaurant within walking distance. Clean good sized room with comfortable queen bed. Great value with reasonable amenities. Clean pool. One morning at about 4:00 am it was a little noisy due to boaters or fishermen leaving for the the day. Turn up the AC to ignore traffic noises I would return

We chose this hotel to save some money as it was too expensive to stay on Sanibel Island (where are final destination was). Next time, I will know to pay the extra money! This "motel" hasn't been updated since 1978 I'm guessing. I was disappointed by this, but didn't want to be a snob, so I kinda shrugged it off. The bed was extremely lumpy and you […] could feel the springs poking through. We picked this hotel because of price and that it had a kitchenette and gas grill. So we bought steaks and grilling items only to find out that the front desk clerk couldn't find the "lighter", couldn't leave the front desk since he was all alone, and the propane tank was completely empty! (We did see the maintenance man take the empty tank on Labor Day as we were leaving-how convenient!). We cooked our "grilled" meats in the kitchenette made by ACME (I swear to god I thought I was the Wiley Coyote waiting for the anvil to smash on my head!) with their nasty skillets that had half of the teflon missing. Probably get cancer from that later since I'm sure there were pieces in our food. There is an oven in there, but no pot holders anywhere in the room...so good luck getting anything out of the oven! After our lovely grilled dinner, we decided to watch TV that gets about 13 cable channels. Halfway through a show, half of the cable channels (yes only half!) went out and we did not have those channels back until Sunday evening. Then on Sunday night we had a few couples out in the pool screaming, grunting, moaning, (you get my drift) out in the pool outside of our room (we're talking like 6ft from our window!) in the middle of the night! Huge sign says pool closes at dusk... and it was 12:15am. Think the front desk would do anything about it?!? Once again, all alone desk clerk can't leave his station. And me going out there telling them to be quiet because people are trying to sleep just made them louder! So, spend the extra money, go across the bridge to Sanibel and enjoy your vacation. Location was lovely, staff were fabulous, rooms spacious. Rooms could use a bit of updating, but overall very statisfied

This was horrible. I was shocked hotels.com offered this hotel. I was surprised they did not rent by hour.
