Bosnian National Monument Muslibegovic House - Mostar

It is a 270 years old, well maintained historical house. The owner and front office lady are the friendliest persons you can find. The breakfast was very good. The Wifi worked but not everywhere. Will stay there again.

We loved our stay at Muslibegovic House. The unique Turkish decor in the room and throughout the house gave us the feeling of being in a very special place, untouched by time. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They even tried to track down the scent of a particular soap in our room, because I enjoyed it so much I wanted to buy some to bring home. […] The gardens are lovely places to sit and relax, and there was a good selection for breakfast. The hotel itself was easy to find, with clear signs on the road in from the south. The house is well maintained with a lovely courtyard garden, and the bedrooms are nice and clean. The […] hotel is about 5 mins walk from the old town, past a mosque and a new supermarket. Breakfast was lovely, and chock full with BiH specialties. We ate at the hotels recommended restaurant in the old town, which was very nice too. We only really had two gripes - when we arrived we were told we should move the car to the car park as VWs are a theft risk, but there turned out not to be room in the hotel car park. We instead left it on the road, with the owner's security lock on the steering wheel. This turned out to be fine but made us a little nervous. It would probably have been better if the hotel hadn't said anything about moving the car as we would have been more at ease and there was a security camera on the road - but no harm done in the end and nothing for.others to worry over... The only other minor gripe was the wifi - which was poor overall. Lisateave

Beautiful facility with strong Turkish flavor. The staff is one of the most accommodating I've ever encountered. The Old Bridge is 5 min walk. Highly recommended!

We had an AMAZING stay here, I only wish more of the places on our Balkan trip could even compare. A peaceful, romantic and gorgeous historic gem in the midst of a rather chaotic tourist laden town. The tension in Mostar is still apparent and the pain of postwar recovery pretty evident. The old town of Mostar is charming. However, the greater city area is gritty, dirty, and slightly intimidating. We arrived at the central bus station and there was no information place to help us find the hotel. Thank goodness I had seen a sign for it from the bus as we came into town. So we retraced the path of the bus and after about a 20 minute walk, […] pulling our suitcases, we did locate it. Once inside the gated area, it is very pleasant, with flowers blooming and very nice people to greet us. The museum and hotel are all in the Ottoman tradition, including the removal of shoes in both the museum and the hallway of the hotel. Our room was very small but the decor was very Ottoman in feel... nothing like we had experienced ever before. The kind proprietor prepared sandwiches for us in the morning as we were missing breakfast to catch a train to Sarajevo. He spoke English well and was very helpful and kind to us. Lisateave

This historic house is a museum as well as a hotel and is run by a member of the 9th generation of the owners' family. The free guided tour of the museum was very interesting and the hotel is very conveniently situated just a short walk from the old town. The rooms are lovely and service is attentive, courteous and friendly - they even made sure breakfast […] was ready early for us because we had to leave before 0800. The only downside was that our bathroom was rather tiny but I know that was to preserve the historical features of the room. Overall the hotel was great and I would definitely recommend it. The Muslibegovic house is an oasis among the ruins of Dubrovnik. The hotel is behind a big wall, and you walk into a beautiful courtyard, with fragrant flowers. It is tranquil, quite and beautiful. This is perhaps the most charming hotel I have ever stayed in. Built in Ottoman style, its rooms are a bit small by US standards, but the Ottoman furnishings are lovely. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful; the location is perfect. One on-line company lists it as one of their top ten hotels worldwide. I certainly agree.

I was charged for a double room even though I was using it as single occupancy, as there were no single rooms available, other than this I would definitely recommend it as a place to stay while in Mostar. I would definitely stay there again.

We found our visit to be an adventure; as a working museum, the facilities are a rare combitation of amenities. Hotel size and unique environment enhances fellowship among guests. We really enjoyed our time in Mostar, and it was in large part because of our accommodation. The man who runs this house is friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and - probably most importantly - passionate about the history of the place. His advice ranged from where to find quality (genuine) Bosnian cuisine, to how to get the most out of the local museums […] and attractions. He then went well above and beyond by even helping us to organise our bus to Dubrovnik. Our room was clean and comfortable, and had all the amenities that were advertised. We were also delighted to find that all decorations within the house were genuine artefacts from the Ottoman period - which made a welcome change from the usual mishmash of fake decorative touches! This is a really lovely hoel in a historic building; I had thuoght that the rooms might not be up to scratch but ours was very nicely furnished and had everything you could need. We had to leave eraly in the morning before breakfast and the owner made us a packed breakfast to take with us and also got coffee for us before we set off. The Muslibegovic House was a great place to stay. It is one of 3 Turkish houses in Mostar and the only one you can stay in. The guest quarters are in a separate building than what is involved in the tour, so there is great privacy. Hvis du har tenkt deg til Mostar, så må du booke deg inn på dette veldig spesielt sted! Du bor i museet men hotelrommene er på et meget høy standard. Du blir tatt godt vare på av Sanela og Gabrielle som er fra Mostar. De kan fortelle deg mye om huset og Mostar. Jeg vil anbefale alle å ta en reise til Bosnia for å oppleve den delen av Europa hvor Øst […] møter Vest. Bo på et fantastisk sted og få en bedre forståelse for det som skjedde tidlig på 90-tallet. Bakom en skyddande mur med stor träport döljer sig hotellet med underbart inredda rum, badrummet var så vackert. Fantastisk personal som visade oss runt i boningshuset som förövrigt är ett museum. Nära gamla stan,tryggt och säkert! Ett måste om ni ska till Mostar!

Här bor man framför allt för miljön - ett vackert och rofyllt gammalt muslimskt rikemanshem med en underbar liten trädgård där man kan sitta och koppla av. Huset är också museum och ägaren själv, en vänlig gammal man, visar gärna runt. Läget är utmärkt, nära alla sevärdheter i Mostar. Questo albergo è una vera chicca. Situato in un museo è un piacere per gli occhi ed un esperienza unica. Personale molto gentile colazione più che dignitosa e camere "spettacolari". Oltretutto in buona posizione anche per girare la città Pur consigliandolo a tutti quelli che passeranno da Mostar, è giusto dire anche le pecche: 1) Ci si mette un pò […] a trovarlo in quanto è abbastanza imboscato e dopo la guerra Mostar ha cambiato il nome delle vie per cui anche la gente fa fatica ad indicartelo 2) C'è qualche difficolta nel parcheggio. L'albergo dispone di un piccolo cortile dietro lo stabile ma ci stanno proprio 2 auto di numero, e il parcheggio sulla strada è un filo difficoltoso. Comunque 10 e lode!!!!!!!!! Lisateave
