Campanile Caen Herouville - Herouville-Saint-Clair

Motel style, clean and straight forward, inexpensive with no unnecessary frills. Convenient location, for the ferry and the WWII beaches. Would happily use again.

Convenient for the ferry, food was excellent & accommodation good. Only minor issue was that they initially didn't think we had pre paid

Hotel excellent as was food, the only -ve was both inbound & outbound there was confusion about our having prepaid in advance, slightly difficult when our French is poor

Brilliant for short to or from cross channel ferries. Good size room with all amenities. Ample parking at this time of year. Only negative observation was the slight noise of the air conditioning plant. Good location with easy motorway access.

Excellent hotel at great value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely restaurant on sitend many places to eat within walking distance.

We were made to feel very welcome considering we were a large all male motorcycle party. You cant really go wrong with a Campanile, which is why we chose to stay with them on the duration of our French trip.

Good location to major road network .Rooms very small and in need of a refurb, very tired.

We used the hotel as a one night stayover on our exploration of Normandy and the WWII history there. Got what we expected and for the price was perfect. Restaurant very good and convenient. Did not explore the surrounding area as were just to do the museum and beaches. Very easy to get to with GPS and/or directions.

This was a good basic hotel. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. We only wanted an overnight stay so that we could catch an early ferry and this place was ideal. We would use it again for this sort of thing.

Hotel very clean,clean towels daily, nice resteraunt excellent food,cheap very prompt and regular bus service to Caen 1.25 euros easiest way of finding motel we found was from junction 4 off periferique past hypermarket

The Campanile Caen Herouville hotel was a nice adn cozy hotel. However as the hotel rooms are on the smaller size, I would not recommend this hotel for a family with kids. If I was in the Normandy area again I would stay at this hotel again.

Pretty good value for money. Rooms are basic motel style, but very clean and well maintained. The Caen location is OK from an access point of view, but not close to the city centre or many services. There is an on-site restaurant, but apart from that, the cjoices are limited to a MacDonalds and a KFC. A shopping centre a few minutes walk away has one […] or two budget-priced restaurants and a good range of shops. Lisateave

We chose this hotel to use as a base for our visit in Basse-Normandie. It was clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, and the staff was helpful. The nearby mall was convenient for food and other shopping needs. The only problem we had was trying to make outgoing calls from the phone in our room. We could call the reception, but we were never able to […] get an outside line. Also, there was a spiral staircase to climb with our bags--a little tricky. We were there for a quick boys weekend to visit the D-Day celebrations from 5th-6th June. This hotel was ideal for us. Easy access from the road to Caen as we had just disembarked from the ferry at Ouistram. We found it very convenient with it being next to a very large shopping mall with restaurants, shops etc. The rooms themselves are very basic but […] very clean and all the bits and bobs worked ok within the room including the free WIFI connection. Used this hotel for 66th D-Day anniversary 2010. It is a clean comfortable hotel and is only 10 mins away from Caen motorway (Caen memorial museum) and 7 mins away from Pegasus Bridge. Great location for Pegasus Bridge, Ranville and Merville Battery. If you want to visit Gold, Sword Juno,Utah and Omaha beaches allow a couple of days from an early start. […] My wife and i drove up to the beaches using the coastal road (best way to see a little more of Normandy). Used inland road faster to get back to hotel in about 45 mins from Gold Beach. This hotel would be perfect if it had a fridge in the room. Staff very friendly and helpful,tea & coffee facilities are available and very much appreciated after a long day. Thoroughly recommend. Lisateave

Only downside is that it is a bit difficult to get to - other than that, great hotel. Very clean, comfortable rooms. Great for basing out of to tour Normandy region.

Very impressed. Only problem was the charge for the breakfast (9 euros). Felt this was rather steep for anyone, as it was only a continental breakfast, but especially for my mother who we took (she is 87and only eats a little) and only had a bowl of cornflakes and a coffee for her breakfast. 9 euros for that was very steep. Should charge a lower price […] if only having a small amount of breakfast. Apart from that , food was excellent and the rooms very clean and comfortable. They should provide more milk in the room for the coffee etc, although when you ask they give you more. Lisateave

Nära ett stort och välsorterat supermarket En fin löpslinga m träningsstationer ca 1 km från hotellet.. Alltså: Ganska trist hotell utan något extra. Hotel correct malgré une faible insonorisation !!!

Le matin de notre départ,nous avons eu la désagréable surprise d'une addition "salée". Pour le dîner nous avions pris 2 formules à 14.90€ et les 2 petits déjeuners, nous pensions en avoir pour 47.80€, hors, les dîners nous ont été facturés 49.20€ et la facture règlée a été de 67.20€ !!!!!! HOTEL Situé dans un endroit calme, bien indiqué, nous avions une chambre avec 1 lit double et 1 lit supplémentaire, un peu étroit selon ma fille, il n'y a que 2 petits oreillers c'est un peu juste, par contre nous avons apprécié le fait d'avoir une bouilloire dans la chambre. En résumé avis favorable pour un week end.

toiles d'arraignées dans la chambre , moutons de poussiere sous le lit , toilettes faites qu'avec de l'eau apparemment ( traces de calcaires , l'usure du water ) et surtout un acceeuil vraiment glacial , pire qu'au pole nord , 9 euros le ptit dej , bref vraiment pas le style qu'un touriste recherche

C'est un hôtel confortable, calme et bien situé. Bon rapport qualité prix.

L'hôtel est de bonne facture. L'accueil est cordial et la qualité du service est telle qu'attendue. Le buffet du petit-déjeûner est de qualité satisfaisante. Le moins : un peu bruyant du fait des autres clients Le plus : proche de la voie rapide qui permet de se rendre rapidement en bord de mer.

chambre pas assez isolée trop bruillante,porte d'entrée trop difficile à ouvrir ddans la salle d'eau un petit dentifrice(tube échantillon) serait le bien venu Hotel mal indiqué

Nous sommes arrivés très tard le soir et nous avons eu un peu de mal à trouver l'hôtel .Nous n'avions pas de gps.

Très bonne qualité pour le prix qu'on a payé. Chambres et salles de bains propres et bien aménagées. Lits très confortables. Facile de s'y rendre depuis le périphérique de Caen. Bien accueillant. defekt AC, ble ikke ordnet etter beskjed. uforskammet da vi ville ha mat 2 min etter kl 2, bemerket at lunch var slutt kl 2. Ingen info på engelsk. Resepsjonen gjorde sitt beste, men ikke tifredsstillende.

OK hotel some way from town centre of Caen (5-6 km). Friendly staff and nice breakfast. A hairdryer in the room would be nice.

Hotel Campanile er centralt beliggende for alle vigtige seværdigheder på invasionskysten. Gode til- og frakørselsforhold. Stort butikscenter indenfor gå afstand. Pænt og rent hotel og nydelig værelsesrengøring med nye håndklæder hver dag. Gode parkeringsmuligheder ved hotellet. Og så er hotellet ovenikøbet til en fornuftig pris.

Les chambres réservées par internet pour 3 adultes sont en fait des chambres avec un lit d'appoint de 70 de large et pas confortable. c'est plus un lit pour enfant.

Nous sommes parties à 4 . Certes nous sommes arrivées tard (aprés 23h) et nous pensions que la nuit avec l'automate nous pouvions avoir nos chambres. Nous avons du reveiller le gardien (qui n'a pas du tout apprécié). Par la suite, tout a été trés bien. Sauf la disparition de nos serviettes de toilettes dans la journée suivant notre arrivée.
