GLO Hotel Helsinki Kluuvi - Helsingi

This is probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in. It is far better than most of the 5 star hotels in Europe that we have stayed in. Unlike, most hotels in Europe which are one star less than advertised, to the contrary this hotel is very much a 5 star hotel (for European standards at least). The bed (as has been mentioned countlessly on previous […] reviews) is by far the best bed i have slept on in a hotel, and the room size was surprisingly big. The room was very well renovated and presented, quite modern and the whole hotel was quite a funky feel to it from the excellent bar in the lobby to the finishing touches in the rooms. Interestingly there was no alarm in the room, and instead guests were recommended to try leaving curtains open, and being woken naturally by the sun... it was a pleasant experience and something you must try in this part of the world!! Avoid the room service as it is ridiculosuly expensive, however, the buffet breakfast was excellent. Location-wise .. it really couldnt be better.,.. it is really centred in the heart of the city, in a mall, with countless restaurants and bars surrounding it. THe neighbourhood is very pleasant and safe, and the service was very friendly. THis is an outstanding hotel! Lisateave

Service from Jasmin on reception was outstanding. All the main visitor attractions are within walking distance of the hotel and it is close to excellent shops and restaurants

Found this hotel on web and gave it try. The room is clean and tidy, though don't expect it has a grand lobby (but that's not what I am looking for since that's not where I sleep...) The sauna facilities shared with Hotel Kamp (same group) and most of the time I can enjoy alone. The only teething thing is that you need to pay EUR20 per day per person […] to enjoy this (if you are not taking their Deluxe / Suite room - which will then be complimentary) The wireless LAN is stable as well. Location wise is nothing to complain, at the heart of the city, close to most shops and restaurants. Also just 5-7 mins walk to the central train station. Definitely a walking distance even with my bulky luggage. Lisateave

Second time I've used this hotel and it met all of my expectations. Great location in the heart of the premier shopping district and walking distance to the train station, beautifully executed rooms and friendly service. Highly recommend it.

I would highly recomment this hotel...very clean, nice decor and the best shower! Beds were comfy but the pillows were to die for.... The location of this hotel is ideal....central downtown ... easy to walk everywhere...breakfast ok.

Loved the staff, very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, bed was actually quite comfortable, great breakfast, perfect location. Cheaper than the alternatives in the same are which are not as nice and the same price or more. Very impressed and would highly recommend! I'm tough to please and have never given such a good review!

I would definitely recommend Hotel GLO in Helsinki, the staff were very helpful, the room was very clean with a small exception. The wifi was included and quick. Everything met and exceeded expectations, especially the bed, which was probably the most comfortable bed I had ever slept on (it also included a latex overlay) The location is very central […] and about a 5 minute walk to the main train station. The room was warm (important in December) but not stuffy, and the shower was very good! We stayed there on our way to Turku, but if I had the opportunity we would stay there again! Great hotel in the heart of Helsinki. Rooms small but comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Even made us coffee and breakfast at 5:30am!

This was my 4th year visiting Helsinki for work. My third stay at GLO. It's so conveniently located. It's in the middle of the shopping area, near the tram connections and a few minutes from Central Station. The hotel itself has a modern, Dali-esque theme. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I like the bar and the bar music. The breakfast is very […] good and I like the small touches in the room (cuddly tiger for company in each room!). My small gripes are: as with some other hotels, there is no facility to open a window, so stuck with AC. In sub-zero temperatures, one needs to keep the heating on, but it would be nice to get some fresh air in. The other small gripe was that the TV in my room didn't work properly and I had a to ask a few times for it to be looked at and never heard an explanation as to what was happening. Luckily, I didn't have much time to watch it in the end. Overall, I do like this hotel and the convenience of its location. Lisateave

Centrally located, very chic in decor - the hotel was very easy to find and the staff at check in were very helpful. We were extremely and pleasantly surprised at the space, layout, and design of the room. The room amenities were also very nice (robe, slippers, bath salts, etc). Great hotel in a great location but rather a victim of style over substance. Fantastic design but not enough staff... breakfast is chaotic as you wait for food to arrive at the buffet and trying to get a drink at the bar during the evening is nigh on impossible. The hotel needs more staff! That said, the location is great and the staff are helpful but […] overstretched. Recommended but expect delays. Lisateave

Really cure centrally located hotel in Helsinki. Very close to lots of shopping and walkable from the central train station. Spa is not very large but it's nice and the rooms are funky and have interesting lighting. They had a menu of fun room perks you could order like oat pillows and face masks- but when I called to request items they were out of […] every single thing. probably shouldn't put out the menu. Best breakfast wuality we had of 7 hotels on the trip, but not the most variety. Unless you REALLY love cheese and then you can go to town. But we loved the real fresh croissants and good tea. Nice to see that the upstairs areas were decorated as well as the lobby. Lisateave

The Glo is very comfortable, the staff are very competent and the location is superb. Highly recommended.

We only stayed one night at this hotel, but enjoyed our stay. The room was small, but with a modern design and very clean. There was also internet acess through the TV in the room, which was very useful, but a little tricky to work. It was in a perfect location in the centre of town, near the train station and the port, so was very easy to get to. […] The staff were friendly and helpful. Suberb hotel with excellent location and probably the nicest and largest room we have ever stayed in regardless of location or price. Everything about this hotel was first class.

I had only a brief time to spend in Helsinki and Glo was the ideal location to get to all the big sites easily. The breakfast was good and convenient and the accommodations were overall quite pleasant. We would return.

We would return there in a flash if we could. The staff were very helpful and accommodating with dinner reservations and other types of questions. The rooms were wonderfully decorated in Scandinavian design and were large. The location of the hotel is perfect for getting around Helsinki which we loved as well.

I absolutely fell in love with Hotel GLO as I fell in love with Helsinki. The staff were so helpful, friendly, and courteous with a sense of humor. The breakfast was incredible with delicious breads and jam, hot and cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. The breakfast host even specially made a cappuccino for me! The room was huge and comfortable, very clean […] and modern. The location near the port and landmark sites, plenty of restaurants and interesting things to do made a perfect stay. Pro's: Great location, staff helpful, comfortable bed, extensive breakfast. Cons: Room not ready at check-in, given a room with bath outfitted for handicapped, which meant a shower with no enclosure that could only be used by standing next to a fold-up shower seat and running the water at very low volume.

Hotel Glo is in a great location, an easy walk from the train station or the ports. The easiest way to find it is to look for the Karl Frazer Cafe (chocolate to die for) and it's directly across the street. The hotel room was very large for European standards and modern. The beds were comfortable, and there was a large flat-screen tv with several English-speaking […] channels. The breakfast service was a bit slow (had to wait for food and coffee to be refilled on the buffet) but there was a lot to choose from. One surprise was that the hotel bar was closed on a Sunday evening. All in all, it was a great hotel, and I would stay there again. Lisateave

Just a wonderful stay at a great little hotel. Friendly staff, great breakfast served in a sophisticated dining room, and well appointed and clean rooms. Terrific gym and spa rounded out my stay. We loved everything about this hotel. The location couldn't be better...near the market place, shopping, and could walk or take the T to all sightseeing destinations. The room was spotless,chic and vary comfortable... plus the staff was very helpful and pleasanat. Probably the only negative for my husband was the open bathroom...I thought it was perfect. Was at the hotel on a leisure trip in aug. 2009. Room was a standard one, very pleasant and clean; bathroom was really nicely furnished. Breakfast buffet was pantagruelic, reception staff was kind and efficient. I also enjoyed the spa, at the 8th floor, but it comes at a price (10 €/pax). We had a great stay at The Glo. The hotel is very modern and stylish. The rooms were very comfortable. It is in the heart of helsinki , conveniently located to stroll the market, the shops and tourist sites as well as access to the tram. Yet the room were very well insulated as we were not bothered at all by the noise of the street.

Marvelous contemporary rooms, large and great bed. Tea/coffee and frig. Good location near hop on/hop off tram and the water. Front of hotel street is often pedestrian thoroughfare. Good breakfast and staff. Highly recommended.

No complaints. The room, location, breakfast buffet were all exceptional. Helsinki is lovely.

We booked this hotel because of the ratings it had on this website and others and it did not dissapoint. We had an extra large room, which was really big, and open plan, with desk and seating area and 2 flat screen TV's. The room was decorated modernely and neutrally. It was really comfortable. Service was good, if we needed anything it would be […] brought to our room. The Spa area was nice, with two steam rooms and a sauna and a relaxing area, but did get a bit busy at times. Location is perfect - in the centre by many tourist attractions. The only criticisms I would have is that the restaurant is a Pizza restaurant (used to be Spanish) and it only really sells Pizza's and salads and doesnt provide that many options if you want to eat there on several nights. I'd really recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to have a realxing, comfortable and luxurious stay in Helsinki. Lisateave

I was incredibly impressed with Hotel Glo and without question would stay here again on future trips to Helsinki. The hotel is perfectly situated in the center of town within walking distance to everything. Additionally, there is a trolley stop directly outside the hotel for those taking local transportation. Best part is the complimentary breakfast, and the fact that they have free laptops guests can borrow and take up to their room for free internet access. GLO Hotel is situated in the centre of Helsinki. themed in Black and White (even the toilet paper is black), the hotel is clean fresh and modern. Complimentary WiFi is available in rooms. Breakfast is an extensive buffet with both hot and cold options.
