Bed was fine. Type of hotel you stay in for 1 night.

A very inexpensive hotel, so I got what I expected re room quality, which was OK. What I did NOT get was the included breakfast -- supposedly available between 8:00 - 9:30, according to the desk person at check-in the night before, but by the time we left at 10:00 the office had just been unlocked and coffee had not yet been made. For the price paid, not a bad hotel. Although I would be a little bit wary of the surrounding. But still pretty close to Albany, NY which is a big plus.

This classic style roadside traveler's motel is a good value but isn't the plastic cookie-cutter newer type of room. Two comfortable queen beds, a desk w/chair and two upholstered chairs in a compact room. Free wifi internet and a breakfast bar in the lounge with coffee, cold cereal and muffins. The owner who checked me in was friendly and flexible. The room was tidy and had everything I expected from a nice roadside inn.

One of the main reasons I picked this hotel was that it claimed to have wifi in each room. I should have known there was trouble when my cell phone couldn't even pick anything up in the lobby. When I asked how to get access I was told the was a "very bad storm" last night that might be affecting the wifi in the rooms. Maybe it blew down the wires for […] the wireless connection? I understand when you book a two star room you get what you pay for but that should at least include a basic, functioning (the plumbing didn't work either), reasonably clean room. When we arrived at the hotel, they did not have a room available for us. I had reserved and paid for a room with two beds. The receptionist insisted that this was not what I reserved even when I continued to show her my three separate reservation confirmations. We were then informed that a room with one bed was available and a cot could be put in the […] room for an additional charge of $15! So, now I was being asked to pay the original rate for the 2 beds PLUS a $15 cot charge for a room that I did not reserve. I informed the receptionist that this would not be acceptable and that I required a refund and would go elsewhere. Then all of a sudden she magically found a room with 2 beds- just like the one I reserved! So, we stayed, but only because we were so tired. Then, we went to look up some nearby restaurants on my laptop, the WiFi did not work-the receptionist later on informed us that a cable had been cut (obviously, not the truth) so we would need to come sit in the office to use the WiFi. This was a huge inconvenience as the office was extremely dark, uncomfortable, and smelly. Everything was very clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. It was a perfect location for my needs, but there are many other hotels in the same area with comparable rates. If the customer service had simply been better, this place may have been slightly more tolerable, but the staff was not helpful at all and worst of all they were dishonest. A rather older motel - early 80s, maybe older, but lovingly maintained, and run by a very friendly and welcoming couple. We were in the room furthest away from the office, which meant the wifi didn't work, but was able to go down to the office and it worked fine there, sitting in their communal seating area. 24/7 access to the coffee/tea maker in that […] area. Location and view was amazing except that the rooms had musty odor and ceiling was damp at some places. No lift so you have to carry your own luggage. Only 1 diner in the area.

This was a quaint little motel just south of Bennington. It was quite clean and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were small but adequate. What the rooms needed to be updated. It was difficult to find a three-prong plug to charge my laptop. The pillows on the bed needed to be replaced as well as the mattresses. Overall the place was very quiet […] and restful and fine for an overnight stay. It has potential but needs to have a number of basic upgrades to make this place more enjoyable for the price. Ich kann diese Motel nicht weiterempfehlen. Zum einen wurde bei Ankunft, trotz bereits geleisteter Zahlung und Angabe der Personenzahl, ein Aufschlag für unsere beiden Kinder vorort berechnet.
