CHELSEA HOUSE - Key West

I would absolutely stay at Chelsea House again. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was within walking distance of everything and the room was clean and well equiped.

We had a great time. Inn was very charming. Wonderful people working there. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Love the wrap-around veranda right off our second floor room. Would definitely stay there again.

The location was perfect. Actually, everything about it was better than great! Friends recommended the Duvall House but it wasn't available so after hours of investigating options online, I picked the Chelsea House. Once we arrived and wandered around a while I was really glad the "other place" wasn't available. The staff was amazing! The location was absolutely perfect and the staff was very helpful, nice and courteous. Unfortunately our room was in the back next to the pool and breakfast area and it was noisy with people sitting in the area eating breakfast and talking.

We really enjoyed our time at the Chelsea House. The continental breakfast out by the pool was great! Key West is a unique place and I look forward to going back. One of the drawbacks to booking online is that you cannot see the room. I booked the cheapest room available which was pretty small, but turned out to be fine. The historic inns are beautiful […] but also may have the additional drawback of some rooms being on the third floor with no elevators. The staff was very helpful and the location is great. The room was cooled by a window unit which did not remove the humidity. Our room was very spacious and clean, but no closet for hanging clothes. Parking on site seemed adequate for all occupants.

Decided to do a semi-gay birthday weekend with my bestie. Location is noisy right off Truman so get a side unit if that bothers you. Place was ok but noting special for the price. Mostly straight crowd, some kids. Immediately requested another room after we were assigned #10 which is front door first floor next to office. Honestly that should be a manager's […] room not for guests. Thankfully there was another room available at same rate and we got that. Again nothing special but it was doable for 3 nights. If you like hot water, go elsewhere. Water temp for shower was warm never hot regardless of time of day. Staff mainly stays away but friendly enough when needed. Key West is key west so it's what you make of it but if you're looking for anything more than an adequately comfortable place to sleep look elsewhere. And if you're a gay couple you're probably better off somewhere else or you may get interesting looks from grandparents here. But mainly I would not stay here again simply because I thought I paid for a lot more than I got. Lisateave

I really enjoyed staying at the Chelsea House while visitng Key West this past November. Each room was different and neat in their own way. So cute and very unique! The staff was friendly and VERY helpful. We checked in super late but spoke with someone at the front desk prior to arrival about getting a key after hours to our rooms. The Chelsea House was very pleasant and conveniently located on Rt. 1 only a few blocks walk to Duval Street. I would definitely stay there again.

The room and bathroom were VERY small but adequate. The location was great, but I doubt I would have stayed any length of time because it was so cramped. The hosts were very cordial.

A second garbage can would have been nice. Window above bathroom door was dirty. No shelves in bathroom for toiletries. Overall, it was a great place to stay for Fantasy Fest!

After staying here for many years, my partner and I will be looking for a new place to stay. Since the B&B has a new owner many things have changed and not for the better. Parking, pool, and location are great, but the rest (cleanliness/comfort of the room, maintenance, etc,) all need improvement.

the Chelsea house is located just a short walk from Duval street.My room was clean and comfortable setting. The staff was fantastic and very friendly.Breakfast by the pool was very enjoyable

The hotel has a real strong musty smell, and the bed was hard, but loved the look and feel! I would recommend it to family and friends as long as they are ok with a hard bed...you do get used to the musty smell

Overall we would book again. King room was large and comfortable. Location was great. Breakfast could have been better. All in all for location and price within walking distance to all Duval street has to offer we would recommend. Thank you Chelsea, great stay.

Staff was friendly and helpful. My room or bedroom literally had just enough room for the bed and a nightstand. It was very small and the bathroom/shower were a tight fit. This is absolutely one of the most charming hotels i we have stayed in - especially among US hotels which tend to be comfy but boring. It's perfectly located, the staff is very helpful and it's full of Key West charm.

My husband & I booked a standard room, and it was small. That is my only complaint with the Chelsea house. We had a porch, which we enjoyed relaxing on. The location was excellent...an easy walk to all the major attractions. It was very quite in the Historic District area. It's old building and they made rooms where ever they could. I saw two rooms 1 with big shower but was musty the other smelled a lot better but shower was very small much smaller than a tub shower. The quality Of renovations was poor. Overall it's a 3 out of 5 location is good I would probably stay again but would look for something else first.

The Chelsea House has an exceptionally helpful staff, tasteful decorations, free parking, and is close to Duval St while still being pretty quiet. The pool area and decks are also very nice. Some of the third floor rooms have a sloped ceiling and could be tight if you were planning to spend a lot of time in the room.

NASTY rooms-- this hotel has a split personality. Half of the rooms are nice--high ceilings, clean, comfortable. But there is this other set of rooms that have window ac units and are small and dingy. The mold was so bad in the chicken little room that we had to move within an hour of getting there. The room was nice, but small. There was no place to put toiletries in the bathroom, no shelves and no counter top space. The room had a large dresser, but no where to hang clothes. We had a lovely balcony and a nice continental breakfast by the pool.
