Staff are polite and quick in responding to request. The on-site restaurant is superb and uses local ingredients (a bit pricy though)

Very attractive contemporary decor. Five minutes from North Park, five minutes from the Arts District. Great service. Complimentary wine and (very tasty) appetizers in evening. Very comfortable mattress and bed.

This hotel has been excellent for my business and personal travel. The Palomar is confidently located for most any need, staffed by helpful personnel and pet friendly.

I booked a king deluxe room on hotels.com. I was dismayed to learn on arrival that there were no king rooms available and that the hotel had no obligation to provide such a room. In addition, there were no minibar keys available. On the whole, although the room was nice and clean, the service and the room was certainly not worth the price and the attitude […] of the staff did not help. Lisateave

The hotel staff was extraordinary. When their shuttle was delayed, they paid a cab to take me to my destination. The only problem i had was the outside road noise. The noise seems to travel through their air conditioning ducts. And I was not on the expressway, but facing east facing towards the adjacent strip center. This did not allow for a good night […] sleep. This problem was significant enough that I won't stay there in the future. Lisateave

The hotel staff was exceptional. Everyone from the top down did a fantastic job. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure me and my family were taken care of. I would recommend The Palmar to everyone I know. Super Job! Richard

This was a wonderful place to stay. The service was great and the location and property were better than expected. I would highly reccomend this hotel and will stay there again when I return to Dallas.

We stay here at least twice a year and are never disappointed with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff as well as the upscale atmosphere of the hotel. My husband left his blazer behind in a hotel in Austin so the valet at The Palomar lent him his for the evening on a moments notice. Now that's service!

Very brief stay but made a big impression. Got in early morning same day as check out. Staff very friendly and helpful for 1:30 in tha AM. Liked the modern zen decor...rooms were clean...was able to get my morning room service card out in time before bed. Beds were very comfortable and clean. If you are spending some time around SMU the Palomar hotel is the nicest hotel of a very few right next to the campus. Easy to walk to the campus and it is a really nice place to stay.

I was there for two days on business and really enjoyed the hotel. The staff was attentive and courteous. They upgraded my room and the only issue I had was that the upgraded room was just above the garbage area and the trucks woke me up at 3am collecting the garbage. Otherwise, it was perfect!

My overall experience was not what I expected. I took my children on a weekend getaway and chose this hotel based on the photos and reviews. Cons: shallow pool in the shade most of the daylight hours, small tub-so no bubble bath, small room, live ant in bathroom floor-not a big deal as I am from the country-but a surprise nevertheless, drab colors of […] carpet and curtains-not warm and inviting, beds uncomfortable, no microwave to warm up items, valet parking was mandatory-extra charge for this requirement, shampoo/lotion/conditioner smelled like ground black pepper, Okay, now for the pros-as I like finishing with the positive: Service was fantastic-from the valet parking to the pool attendant and all in between. Supurb!! The wine hour was very pleasant, pool lounges comfortable, sangria was great, quick valet pick-up, easy check-in/out, pool layout was cozy, hair dryer/flat iron brought to the room quickly by housekeeping, and clean. I had saved all summer to make this getaway memorable for my children and this hotel experience did not have the wow factor that I expected from the photos. Lisateave

This hotel, like the one we stayed at in Washington, DC, is a gem! The staff is so friendly and welcoming; it has a homey feel. They a dog friendly, offer free happy hour daily, and have a great on-site restaurant. I highly recommend these Kimpton Hotels over most other chains.

Nice place clean rooms very upscale botique hotel. But discount internet rooms are put on the highway side and are noisy. Great valet service!!!! Dress nice and get treated better, duh! Internet is not free as advertised.........Valet only hotel $20 day plus tax plus tipping......................But whadda you expect? Stay here, but pay full price for […] the total package. Great service!

I am an avid traveller and I have stayed in numerous types of hotels, ranging from a Comfort Inn to your 4 or 5 star rated hotels. Hotel Palomar ranks in my Top 3, as of this moment. Its location in downtown Dallas, the decor of the lobby, the warmth and courteous front desk staff, the pool area, the restaurant (Central 214), the room itself..... I […] can go on and on. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone, especially during the summer months, due to their summer specials on room rates. If any of you encounter Michael at the front desk, he will take care of you. He truly embodied customer service and professionalism. Lisateave

It was the best service I have received from any hotel in a long time. All the staff was friendly and helpful, loved the 5pm free wine time, excellent restaurant in hotel, and decor was above average. Room was clean and comfortable. I hope to stay there again!

My husband and I decided to take a romantic mini-vacation & decided that Hotel Palomar fit the bill. The front desk receptionist was excellent as was the dog behind the front desk. (The hotel is very dog friendly & also offers a goldfish companion if you are traveling alone). The hotel room itself was pretty standard with some nice bedding. Sort of […] an upgraded Marriott. I would rate the hotel between a 3 and a 3 1/2. The pool area was nice, however, the pool service was slow and somewhat disorganized. The drinks were fine but the food was just 'ok'. The main problem we encountered was with the valet service. Upon returning our car Saturday evening we were walking into the hotel & one of the attendants actually backed right into by husband (in a car) and pinched the side of my foot under the tire. We didn't even get a 'sorry' or 'are you ok'? The attendants all just looked at us with their mouths hanging open. After returning home I emailed management about the incident & was responded to promptly by the general manager. He apologized profusely, comped our room & said that he was initiating an investigation into the incident. My feelings remain mixed about the establishment. I received 40% off the rack room rate. Had I paid full price I think I would have been really disappointed. That being said, the reaction from the management regarding the 'incident' was sincere & immediate. This Kimpton property has a really excellent staff and fine array of services. The location is strategic for Dallas visitors - and you'll find the hotel quite accommodating if you travel with pets ( no charge) or drive a hybrid vehicle (discounted parking)

Great hotel. Great Lobby. Great Rooms. Great Core Fusion Classes at Exhale (don't miss this). Love it!

Unexpectedly nice inside and friendly. OMG. The Central 214 restaurant is out of this world ! Must try.

I usually stay here - good location, comfortable hotel, great for a run on the Katy trail, and good food - particularly breakfast.

I love everything about this hotel. You can't go wrong here. Beautiful rooms, a great restaurant, room service, an attached spa, yoga classes and a shopping center you can see from acoss the street. I've stayed there twice and will do so again.

Only negative is I wish they would go to wifi in the lobby at least. Great to have coffee in the lobby and wine at night. better than their other property The Lumen.

Very comfortable business hotel with polite and efficient staff. Not much going on in the surrounding neighbourhood, so expect to need take a taxi to get anywhere of interest / eat / drink / shop

Everything was perfect. Very nice hotel. Staff was great, room was great. Hotel bar was awesome and so was the resteraunt. Perfect night!

The Palomar is a very polished, beautiful hotel in the Highland Park area of Dallas. The service is very attentive and friendly, the rooms are impeccably clean (lovely bathrooms!), and there are nice extras about the hotel - like delicious coffee in the morning in the lobby, several newspapers to choose from (love to take the Sunday NY Times with me […] on the plane!), and a decent workout facility. The pool looks beautiful as well (too cold for us to use this time of year). One note: There is no self-parking, so you must valet each time you need to park. But it is a reasonable cost per day with in and out privileges. Also it's right on the interstate, which wasn't an issue with the windows closed. If the windows were open it would have been a bit noisy. We would love to stay at the Palomar again! Lisateave

The hotel exceeded my expectations. I will consider staying at this or another Palomar property in the future again. The room was well appointed and comfortable.

I've stayed at the Palomar several times. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Check-in is a breeze and the atmosphere is really welcoming. The ambience in the lobby and the guest rooms is "cool" and it makes my business trip seem more like pleasure. I will continue to stay at Palomar on future trips to Dallas.

The room was very small.

The Palomar was all that we expected from a Kimpton hotel. The decor was beautiful, the bed was so comfortable, the pool and hot tub area was modern and lovely, and the wine reception was fun! I cannot say enough about our great experience at The Palomar and I'm looking forward to staying there again.

We decided to once again, stay at the Hotel Palomar for our annual "stay-cation". We enjoyed the many amenaties of the hotel: the pool, the gym, the wine hour, the restaurant.
