Well situated correct hotel. Rooms are OK but bathroom is below standard.

We stayed at the Marmara Pera in early January 2012 and were very pleased with our experience. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous, our room was very comfortable, and we LOVED the rooftop bar and location (near great restaurants and shopping and right by a cabstand that can whisk you over the bridge to see the sights). We stayed at The Marmara Pera midway through a long vacation around Europe. We decide to do some laundry at the hotel. Normal.... right? Until we check out and they have charged us 440 Lira ($240) Like 6 pairs of socks and 8 t-shirts. I could have bought them for that ! Very Sneeky....Needless to say we were upset! Felt like we were hustler by Motel […] 6. Very Low end and to top it off once we asked for the manager everyone became very unhelpful. When manager arrives he is completely unwilling to help. Not one for staying in big chains on vacation... but sometimes theses something to be said about the way things are run. I will be disputing this ridiculous charge and will not be back! Lisateave

Very good locations! Nice room, not so small. But some bad smells from bathroom.

I would have zero problem to stay there again. If you can get hotel at rate below 120 US for all the locations within walking distance. The staff is very helpful. We really enjoyed our 4-night stay at the Marmara Pera. We booked the standard room but I think we got upgraded to a room with views of the Bosphorus. Staff were friendly and helpful; room was clean, modern and comfortable; location is good. Hotel breakfast is nice but quite pricey. Great location between the new and the old city with everything within walking distance. A fabulous view from the rooftop terrasse with pool and bar. I can't wait to go back.

From the moment we arrived, the staff could not have been more helpful. Located in the vibrant Beyoglu area of the city, the hotel is close to the best restaurants and bars and is a short tram ride from the major tourist attractions. The room was clean, well-appointed, had a really comfortable bed and had panoramic city views from the large windows […] . I only have the best things to say about this hotel - the service was the best I had experienced in Istanbul. We stayed elsewhere prior to this hotel, and it was horrible so we changed - thank goodness! Now - about the scammers - BE AWARE! Never follow any 'friendly' locals anywhere for a drink. My friend was unfortunately targetted and the few drinks […] they had at 'ROLANS (BAR) CAFE & RESTAURANT' came to 6000 Lira!! It was a very scary, threatening and expensive experience. Lisateave

Great location, next to Istikal (10 minutes walk to Taksim Square). The hotel was clean and comfortable. The bathroom is quite small, but everything works fine. I keep coming back to this Hotel. Rates can vary greatly depends on time of the year, but if you find the right rate for you, this one is A++++++

The Marmara Pera is perfectly located close to the large shopping street, which is the heart of "new" Istanbul. An easy walk down to the waters (probably 20 min stroll), where you could take the excellent Tram to all sights you want to see in the Old town. The Tram was easy, cheap and very easy in understanding where to get of. Within 5-10 min walking […] (basically around hotel, and shopping street) you have the best restaurants in Istanbul, the trendiest bars, the most Istanbul like pubs, etc. Something for everyone! The hotel in itself sits on a big hill, so the views are spectacular (try and make sure you get a room on 9th floor or up - for the view). Quite large rooms, European style. Nice decor, nice design features, nice restaurant and bar, nice and very service minded staff! Prices at the hotels own site were the cheapest for a long time, but we waited until the evening before and then Hotels.com was cheapest. Easiest way back home from Old town was taxi - should be on meter, but if not 10-15 is ok to pay not more. Highly recomended! Enjoy! Besides the small room, this is a nice hotel. Friendly staff, roof-top pool, convenient location to new city shopping and dining.

This was my first visit to Istanbul and it was a pleasure. The hotel is conveniently located one block from Isliktal street, where you will find lots of restaurants, cafes, and shopping. There is a taxi stand directly across the street, so getting around the city is easy. I also loved the rooftop pool and bar. Great place to stay! A good And comfortable stay overall. Check in and check out were fast and efficient. Staffs are mostly friendly. Room service was good.

Except for the oddly off-putting mirror on the bathroom ceiling, the hotel was excellent. THe view from the roof top pool is spectacular - (although it was far to windy up there and a tiny pool to be anything but a quick dip), The hotel is relatively quiet considering the noisy area it borders - and you are a step away from the evening action - and […] a short walk to Taksim square. The Hotel turned out to be just a basic hotel, which does not deserve the 4 star tag , nor the price that I paid , it almost like a serviced apartments . I enjoyed a better time and more classy hotel Elite World at half the price i paid here

The Marmara Pera was a great choice. Conviently located near many sites and the funicular/tram for easy access to Sultanhemet and Eminonu. I would reccomend this hotel and would stay here again. The staff were very helpful without being intrusive and the room was very comfortable. Many options for good food nearby within easy walking distance. The Marmara Pera is an outdated property. The room itself wasn't bad, but the bathroom and the smell from the bathroom was horrible. I could not distinguish if the smell was due to the water or if it was mold. During our 4 night stay here, we complained of the smell on the first day. They aired out the room so it was not very noticeable when we returned. […] The next day, the room smelled horrible when we returned that evening. We complained again and were finally moved to another room. The second room was much better, but the bathroom still lingered faintly with the bad smell. The Taksim location is great, it offers a much better selection of restaurants than Sultanahmet. But do yourself a favor and do not stay here. If we had not pre-paid our reservation on hotels.com, we would have checked ourselves out after the first night. Lisateave

The Marmara Pera met our expectations right on, probbly because we had known what to expect. This hotel was selected because it is located about two blocks from Iztaklal Cadessi, the central nerve of New City Istanbul, and because it offered views of the Bosphorus or the Golden Horn. The rooms are small. The bath is small but tiled. The storage space […] is limited. We considered the location and view to be worth these drawbacks. If you do not value location and view as much, then do not stay here, since there are lots of less expensive hotels in Istanbul with more space. Two notes about the view: (1) it is necessary to pay extra for it and it is worth it. We would stay elsewhere rather than save money on the view. (2) The Bosphorus view is marred, in our view, by unsightly slum roofs below the window. The Golden Horn view is cleaner, and that is what we took. A note about the location: When leaving the hotel turn right and walk up the narrow street facing you and you will reach Iztaklal in about 1000 feet. This is the shortest route. Turning left is longer but brings one to the Tunel funicular. The staff is competent and helpful. The breakfast is expensive but convenient. There are lots of taxis and it costs 90 YTL to get to the airport, about 25 minutes w/o traffic. Lisateave

The rooms at the Marmara Pera are miniscule and there is very little closet or drawer space (really none to speak of). However, the location of this hotel is ideal for visiting Istanbul. It's right off main pedestrian street Istiklal Caddesi, steps from great outdoor "meyhanes" and a short ride (or long walk) from all of the major tourist sites over […] the Galata bridge. We found the location very convenient especially after hours for wndering around to local bistros. The rooms themselves are comfortable albeit a little small. The bathrooms are very small, 2 people can not even be in at the same time.The breakfast was excellent and the views from the Mikla restaurant and bar are to die for. Great Service, value and location. Magnificent views are a bonus!!!!!

My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at the Marmara Pera, and were very happy with it. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous and the hotel was very clean. The room was a good size and comfortable as well, and the location was great - minutes walk away from Istikal street (main street in Istanbul), minutes away from tons of restaurants, right accross […] the road from a taxi rank and less than 10 minutes by taxi over to the old section of the city. The rooftop pool and bar/lounge are great, excellent views and comfy couches to hang out on! My only recommendations is that the rooftop bar is VERY expensive!!! Have one drink to enjoy the view and then head into town where the drinks are less than half the price :) overall great stay though. Lisateave

The Marmara Pera is very well located, 2 mins from Tunel and 10 min walk from Taksim, where most of the nightlife is. It's also a 15 minute walk to the Galata Bridge The staff was very helpful and friendly - everyone spoke English. And the room was lovely and very clean. Exceptional restaurant in the hotel on the top floors. Nu Pera restaurant, and Pera Museum less than 100 meters from the hotel. Taxis available around the clock at the taxi stand immediately adjacent to the hotel. Pleasant hotel staff always helpful answering any questions. Great hotel especially for the price. About 10 min taxi ride from the major sites, but extremely easy to find a taxi and not very expensive. The hotel is near many places to eat and drink.

At present the ancient Pera Palace hotel, and another building, are having a complete refurb and as the laws of noise are quite loose in Turkey the angle grinders and jack hammers start as early as 7.30am. So İ am not sure why the hotel staff seem surprised when you have the temerity to ask for a quieter room. İndeed we had to move 3 times in 4 days. […]  So when you check in make sure to ask for a quiet room (although İ have to admit İ had even included this request in an email direct to the hotel before i even got there(.. This hotel is a sure bet if you are looking for service, quality and a place to relax. The roof top pool is small but just right for lounging. As a matter of fact, that is what I'd say about the hotel - not too much, not too little, everything was just right.

This hotel was used to accommodate guests for a wedding from Britain and was recommended to us. We stayed 5 nights and found the hotel to be very clean.The food from room service was good but a bit slow to arrive.The room rate was without breakfast and from what other guests told us breakfast was expensive and not worth the money. There are three lifts which seem to be in constant use so getting between floors is a chore. The area is good for bars and restaurants and I recommend The Montreal Bar about 100 metres away. Vi ankom dette fine hotellet hvor vi ble tatt godt i mot at godt engelsktalenede resepsjonister. Rommet lå helt perfekt til i 12.etasje med flott utsikt over gamlebyen i Istanbul og ut mot det Gyldne Horn Rommene var rene og veldholdte..Frokosten var innholdsrik,sunn og god. Det beste med hotellet var uten tvil den flotte ustikten og baren med restaurant […] MIkla på toppen. Noe flottere enn dette skal man lete lenge etter. Beliggenheten var også midt i smørøyet med nærhet til det meste. Dette er et hotell vi vil anbefale alle som reiser til Istanbul å benytte seg av. Helt topp! Lisateave

Otele ilk gittigimizde odaya girdigimizde banyoda onceki misafirlerden kalma sac ve kıllar vardı. Hijyen acısından cok zayıf oldugunu gorduk. Ayrıca pazar sabahı kalktıgımızda arabanın sokakın ortasında ark edildigini gorduk. Gunluk ucret olarak 15 TL almalarına ragmen arabamız yol ortasında,ki hem islek bir cadde olması hem de cok icki icilen gece […] kulupleri ile arasının 50mt olması, mal guvenligimize zarar verdigini dusunuyorum. Konu ile ilgili nobetci mudur bizimle ilgilenmedigi gibi sikayet mektubuma da geri donus yapılmadı. Kesinlikle tavsiye etmiyoruz. Lisateave

Helpful staff and excellent service. Nice rooms, good view and central location. I have stayed at 5-6 different 4-5 star hotels in Istanbul and would absolutely recommend this. The Marmara Taksim is even better, but a lot more expensive. I will stay at this hotel the next time I visit Istanbul.

Hammer Hotel, super gelegen im Pera, sehr nahe zu Taksim, unzählige Restaurants und Cafés in der Nähe. Das Hotel stammt aus den 70er, wurde renoviert und leuchtet im neum Design mit modernen Einflüsse aus dem nahen Orient. Die Zimmer haben eine Atemberaubende Aussicht und die Terrasse mit Pool auf dem Dach ist einmalig. Good hotel, but the rooms a bit small!

Dommage que la petite piscine sur le toit ferme à 18H c'est à dire juste quand on rentre de ses vistes dans la ville. Petit déjeuner buffet superbe et cher. Evitez le restaurant, le Mikla, sur le toit : très cher et insatisfaisant pour des européens habitués à la gastronomie italienne.

Fick först ett rum med utsikt mot ruckel-hus men bad om ett annat rum med bättre utsikt. Fick mot TRT-tvstationen och det blev vi nöjda med. Fin utsikt från taket med bar och pool. Dock är poolen väldigt liten med ett maxdjup på cirka 1,4m... blåser en hel del oxå men annars var det trevligt :) Helt nöjda med hotellet!
