I was really pleasantly surprise by this hotel . Good location, very very friendly staff. Great breakfast and great lobby. Built in an upscale rustic style. It was so dry that we could not sleep well. We should have asked for a humidifier. We stayed on Friday night that other guests were loud after 10 pm. We just felt not worth staying again at Humpton Inn for what we paid for. The service at the complimentary breakfast weren`t great at all. they want us to leave ASAP. I love the Hampton Inn chain, but none so much as their Truckee location. I take my son skiing at Northstar and the Hampton Inn has quickly become part of our family tradition. I want a certain level of comfort. I get all of that and more, specifically a super friendly staff and shuttles directly to the ski resort from the door of the hotel.

This place must be quite new, because it was clean, modern, and well laid out. Only complaint would be that the Internet access in the rooms was not wireless. But, hey, take the iPad out to the fireplace in the lobby. Quite nice!

The staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel was very comfortable. The room was very clean and well maintained. The complementary breakfast was excellent. I will stay there again.

I was very satisfied with our stay at this Hampton Inn. I had stayed at another for business and was pleased so tried this one with its superb location near Northstar and Truckee. The bed was very good. This is the second most important thing for me. The first is noise. There was none in our first floor room although we had no neighbors. The third most […] important thing is free internet. It bugs me to no end that expensive hotels charge for this basic necessity. We stayed here during a blizzard with a toddlers and a newborn. The staff was fantastic! Extremely friendly and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel. And, the awesome breakfast makes it easy to hit the slopes early.

My husband, 2 year old daughter, and I recently stayed in a king studio suite at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Truckee. We chose it because of the location (we were going to Soda Springs the next morning) and the fact that it also had a pull-out sofa bed for our daughter to sleep on. Honestly, our expectations weren't that high and we were pleasantly […] surprised at how nice the hotel was! The room was stylishly decorated and very comfortable. There was a slight snafu with thermostat being set at 77 degrees so it was way too hot when we arrived but we opened a window and turned the thermostat down. The kitchenette was nice and we were able to put all of our snacks in the fridge and make some popcorn at night. The complimentary breakfast was just okay, but really you can't expect gourmet food at an all-you-can-eat hotel breakfast buffet. It was enough to fuel us for a morning on the mountain. My wife and I enjoyed our brief stay here. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Exactly what I expect from Hampton Inns. I will use it again next time we want to catch some great skiing.

This Hampton Inn is right where you want to be! It's a great hotel, friendly staff, clean. Cute rustic details too. Easy to get to & close to all North Lake Tahoe.

After many hours of travel (almost being bumped from my flight, being deplaned due to mechanical issues, having to stop in Denver to re-fuel - all followed by a 4-hour drive) I finally arrived, rather late at night, to the Hampton Inn & Suites in Truckee. To my delight I was greeted by name as I entered the lobby and was efficiently checked in to a […] clean room with a wonderfully comfortable bed. And when I discovered I didn't have my toothbrush and toothpaste, the front desk staff provided me with what I needed. With free Internet access in my room, and breakfast provided in the morning, I could feel right at home and get everything accomplished. And when I checked out the front desk staff made everything easy for me as well - no matter who was on duty or what time of day, those people at the front desk were extremely helpful and courteous....I was very impressed. The hotel was very nice and well-kept. The beds were comfortable and hotel was clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was ok. The eggs could have been a little better and the fruit was not very fresh or flavorful. Also, the location is very convenient to Truckee.

The rooms are nice pool and jucuzzi are also nice. The breakfast served in the morning is marginal. The eggs are hardly eatible. The food choices are limited. For what the hotel rate is I wish the food was better.

We had a multiple night trip to the Tahoe area and were very pleased with this hotel and its staff. We did not have a "suite" but were still surprised that it had no fridge or microwave, which was not a problem for us, but seems like an oversight for this type of hotel. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly.

I always prefer to stay at the Hampton since I travel with twins and always know room and hotel setup. We checked in late and our portable cribs were set up waiting to put two sleeping babies in. Breakfast was nice and the ladies were so helpful we didn't worry about clean highchairs or tables. The staff was amazing, polite, helpful and courteous.
