Hotel Tropicana - Torremolinos

The area is nice, but look at other hotels nearby unless you're OK with not having A/C in your room. Also, no ice and no parking. There is a restaurant on the premises but we didn't eat there because the only option is buffet (so forget about eating in your room).

This hotel has a good location adjacent to the promenade/beach. It's clean and the staff are friendly. Our stay was on a bed and breakfast basis. The buffet style breakfast was definitely not 4 star, in fact I'd find it hard to give it 1 star. The cooked breakfast was always cold. The bacon and sausages were poor quality as were the cereals and fruit […] salad. Our room in itself was OK. Clean and a reasonable size. However, June is quite warm, especially for brits, and the air conditioning only worked as an additional fan - no cooling - in conjunction with the ceiling fan. Opening the balcony door might have helped but the noise from an extractor outlet below our room (203) made it impossible to sleep. Lisateave

Hotel was great, location was excellent, had some lovely walks, no hills! Hospitality from staff was excellent, hotel was spotless, rooms were cleaned every day. Had a thouroughly lovely stay and would highly recommend it.

My recommendation of this hotel to others would be qualified. Location is lovely, on the beach. I have stayed there many times but this last visit I was given rooms at the entrance to the restaurant. The noise and the smells were not pleasant, Especially with the wedding on Saturday night. Breakfast has deteriorated from good fresh choice to a buffet […] down one end of the restaurant with stale cereal and tinned fruit. Not good enough. The hotel is stiuated in the middle of the promenade between Deportivo Benelmadena (Benelmadena's port) and the rocky area jutting out into the sea, each direction being a 10-15mins stroll. The centre of Torremolinos is about a 30min stroll from the hotel, just beyond the rocks. And then a hell of a lot of steps. The hotel itself is excellent. The […] pool is clean and large. There aren't a great number of sun loungers and they all seemed to be all gone from about 9am onwards. That said, you're not meant to reserve them with a towel, but most were 'reserved' when we got down there. We stayed in the apartments just behind the hotel (seperate building). They are big; seperate kitchen and bathroom, and have air conditioning (€20 refundable deposit). Our room had a balcony. Couldn't fault the rooms, though it's only serviced once a week so you'll run out of loo roll and towels. The hotel seems popular with the Spanish. At 28yrs old, we were by far the youngest there, but it didn't matter as the hotel is situated only 5mins walk from the Irish Pubs etc. The hotel and surroundings are quiet and secure. The pool is surrounded by a high wall, separating it from the road and the promenade, but the palm trees, the colourful foliage and general decor doesn't give the feeling you're in a walled garden. With the low flying, tropical looking birds, it's a little gem of a place! Lisateave

Fantastikt väder efter en retning sommar i Sverige. Perfekt läge på hotellet - nära allt! Vi funderar fortfarande på varför vi åkte hem.

Vi havde halv pension,men den kan vi ikke anbefale til nogen,det var det samme hver dag.vh Hillerød.

Meget meget hyggeligt hotel med et lækkert poolområde.Vi fortryder at vi havde bestilt halvpension hjemmefra,maden var bestemt kedelig,har aldrig før prøvet noget lignende på et 4 stjernet hotel.Det er synd,for hotellet er ellers værd at anbefale.

Contraté el Hotel Tropicana y me mandaron a un edificio ruinoso donde tienen unos apartamentos muy abandonados. Estuve tres noches, cuatro días. No los limpiaron en ningún momento. El baño ruinoso, sin presión de agua caliente y la bañera totalmente remendada. Olor a sumidero constantmente. ¿4 estrellas? Si tuviera la categoría de pensión todavía estaría […] exagerando. We stayed at hotel Tropicana for 4 days, in june 2011. We ordered a studio room. The room was BIG, with a small kitchen (with frig), a bathroom and a balcony. We were pleased with the room. The only "odd" thing that wasn't mentioned in the hotelinformation, was that the studio apartments were in another building, about 50 m from the hotel itself. When […] we arrived (11 pm / 23), the hotel resepsjonists didn't bother to show us where it was, only explained it to us. Wasn't hard to find, but still we thought this was somewhat lack of service. Also, the aircondition was included in the price, but when we got to the room, the remotecontrol wasn't there. Ended up having to go to the hotel and pay 20 euros as airconditon deposit ( was returned at departure). Two of the remotes didn't work, so we ended up going back and forth getting new ones. this was bad service, considering nothing worked and we had to go back and forth all the time. When this was fixed, we were good ( even though the aircondition wasn't that cold). The room was cleaned only every 3 day (this was just for the studios), which was fair enough. Towels were included in the bathroom. The location is excellent though. Only a couple meters from the boardwalk, and the beach. The sunbeds at the beach were priced at 4 euros pr day. The boardwalk had a bunch of restaurants with good food and lots of shops. We liked it a lot. We never really had any contact with the hotel, except when we arrived and left. The hotel itself had a very small pool, with maybe around 15 sunbeds (which were taken early in the morning), where most of them were located in the shade. Didn't look too attractive. The staff themselves weren't too enthusastic, I guess they were all about doing their job. The best thing was the location, and the rooms we had were good. That's about everything you need really. Nous sommes bien heureux du séjour de 6 jours. L'hotel était très propre et le service était très convenable. Aussi bien situé, beaucoup de commerces et restaurants approx. Nous serions très à l'aise de le suggéré à des amis. L & D. Canada.

Mysigt hotell mycket nära stranden. Trevliga smågator i närheten. Underbar strandpromenad med mysiga affärer pubar och restauranger. Dålig internetuppkoppling på hotellet. Rekommenderas varmt!

Hotellet ligger supert til rett ved stranden på Torremolinos, og har i tillegg et eget basseng om man ikke ønsker å forlate hotelområdet. Det er egen restaurant med helt OK mat tilknyttet hotellet, vi spiste bare her en kveld. Vi reiste to voksne og ett barn på 7 måneder hit og det viste seg å være litt klønete i og med at det ikke er noen egen rampe […] til barnevogner eller rullestoler på hotellet og man må opp og ned noen bratte trapper for å komme inn på hotellet og til restauranten. Hotellet har heis når du først har kommet deg inn. Personalet tilbød seg heller aldri å hjelpe til med vogn eller bagasje og kostet sjeldent på seg et smil. Rommet vi bodde på hadde nydelig utsikt over stranden og renholdet var kjempebra, ingenting å utsette på det. Sengene var det største minuset, ekstremt harde madrasser og knirkete senger var ikke helt det vi ønsket oss på ferie. Vi kan lett anbefale hotellet til venner uten barn som skal på badeferie og ønsker kort vei til strand og utesteder, men jeg ville ikke dratt hit igjen med barn som er avhengig av barnevogn. Veggene mellom gjesterommne er av papp. Det er umulig å se på TV når naborommene gjør det samme. Kan også høre alt som det snakkes om på naborommene. Ikke noe ****stjernes hotell selv om beliggenheten er fin

Medium stort hotell av god standard på stranden kun adskildt av promenaden.Koselig hage med bra basseng uten innsyn og med minimalt støy.Bra fellesrom og hyggelig-og serviceminded betjening.Kort vei fra togstasjon(6 euro). Godt utgangspunkt for sykling Konkurransedyktig pris og et hotell som jeg gjerne kommer tilbake til.

Mi sono trovato nella dependance separata (studios): sembra un posto di periferia di una cittadina dell'est o turca... mentre l'hotel è in posizione magnifica e sicuramente attende alle promesse.... ma chi l'ha visto? L'internet è a pagamento (e carissimo!), non esiste una safe box neanche alla reception! e il posto non è sicuro di notte, pertanto sempre […] in giro con tutti i soldi e documenti! una seconda volta? ...no. per prezzi e altro, nulla da dire: tutto come previsto dal sito! Rekommenderar hotellet till alla som vill ha nära till stranden med bad och sol. Bra standard på både rum och mat. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal.

Ett lite men mysigt hotel med perfekt läge vid strand och närhet till Carichuelas gågata med shopping och restaurang liv. Härlig trädgård och pool! Frukosten var över förväntan! Rummen var helt ok med en fantastisk havsutsikt! Hotel personalen trevliga och service minded.

very good hotel and you get "value for money" hotel Tropicana is recomended and location is exelent

Har boet på nabo hotellet "Amaragua", og i forhold til dette imponerer "Tropicana" os ikke. Begge hoteller har 4 stjerner, men vi ser "Amaragua" som en tand bedre end "Tropicana". Hotellet er dog fint og rent, og godt at bo på.

Nous avons étés surpris d'être logé dans une " annexe" de l'hotel situé une rue plus loin, donc pas grand chose à dire concernant l'hotel proprement dit. Bonne situation et chambre propre.
