DON BEACH ROAD HOTEL - Kaplinn

Very disappointing stay. Apparently the hotel is closing down, but no one told Hotels.com so they could take them off their list. Do not recommend this hotel at all. Most items in room were either broken or not working...toilet, lights, windows.

Quite a shabby hotel with relaltively inefficient staff. Location is great, hotel not worth it

We requested a quiet, high floor, non smoking room and got it all. The 1 bedroom apt was spotlessly clean, asked the first day for extra towels and got them every day without having to ask again. Only complaints were no black out curtains in the bedroom, the lights were too dim to read in bed and no wifi free - but this is typical of 90% of hotels and […] restaurants in South Africa. However, internet cafes charge as little as R5 per half hour so not a major problem. Free daily newspaper. Will definitely stay there again, highly recommended. Lisateave

I was delighted to get such a good rate! Little did I realise you get what you pay for. The first room that was allocated was shocking - doors did not open on to balcony even though they had keys, right at the back of the hotel. Yes, apparently these are the rooms allocated to cheap rates! Managed to upgrade to seaview room. Was slightly better, however, […] electrics in a shocking condition, shower fittings fitted very poorly. Very little crockery. Certainly won't get caught by these special rates again. For the price a good stay!

The hotel was very good value for money and ideally situated for our purpose. Strongly recommended for those wanting suite accomodation.

Hubby and I had a wonderful time, except for this grinding noise (I assume it's from the outside aircon unit). We couldn't sleep as this noise went on and on and on. Initially we thought that the sound would go away but at 3:30am it was unbearable. My hubby called the reception area and they said they will see what they can do and it went off for about […] 10mins but it came back. I then called after that and they said its a maintenance issue, they will see what they can do. Eventually it went off and never came back again, which was brilliant!! I just hope that its sorted before someone else stays in that room as it was very irritating...Thank you though for the brilliant service. Lisateave

We had a Fantastic stay at this hotel, the weather though was a bit bad so we kinda snuggle in the comfort of our suite, we definetely coming back to stay here again!!

Well cetrally situated for adults and children- across the road from the beachfront and the swings, around another corner is the main Road and access to all amenities, perfectly situated and booked both a bachelor and a one bedroomed and both parties of my family were very happy, off street parking and helpful staf coupled with very reasonable rates […] made this a hotel to be used repeatedly. The location was ideal in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The suites were spacious and very reasonably priced. Although the hotel and suites were very clean and the service was good, the furniture in the suites was a bit tired. However, overall this was an excellent choice.

This was the most original small hotel room I have ever stayed in. Comfortable queen size bed at the foot of which was a couch facing a tv and one side of the TV was the bathroom and the other side of the TV was nice little kitchen. Small deck outside with a lounge chair. Enjoyed my stay. Staff was helpful but they could include breakfast in the price […] of the room, The Atlantic Ocean is across the street and a huge swimming complex . The hotel is located in Seapoint with a full range of restaurants around the corner. Lisateave

The aircon did not work when we arrived but was efficiently fixed the next morning. The shower over the bath was not the greatest (the bath needs repairs as is cracked) but was efficient and always plenty of hot water. The fold out bed (which we did not use) in the lounge had torn upholstery which was a bit unsightly. The apartment was SPOTLESS - perhaps […] supply a tin opener, a bottle or wine opener and a sharp knife. Definitely value for money. We enjoyed our stay. Wonderful location. This hotel is great for extended stays. It was comfortable and relatively easy to get in and out of. The only complaint that we had was that the air conditioner wasn't working properly and it took a couple of days for the management to act on it. Seule qualité: grande pièce, manque un rideau transparent: soit tout le monde peut voir ce qu'il se passe dans la chambre, soit un rideau obscurcit toute la pièce. Idem côté couloir, les rideaux qui ferment mal et le soir permettent de voir ce qu'il se passe dans la chambre depuis le couloir. Pire pour la salle de bain ou des autocollants dépolis ne […] couvrant pas la totalité des vitres laissant une bande de vitre transparent autour de chaque vitre et à l’intérieur un vieux store dont les lamelles tordues aux endroits stratégiques, qui empêchent celui qui prend son bain ou sa douche de voir dans le couloir mais pas le contraire! Le système électrique à revoir: interrupteurs principaux de la chambre ne fonctionnant pas obligeant d'agir directement sur chaque lampe,un d'entre eux avec un faux contact, à la limite du court-circuit , la bouilloire sans bouchon, donc qui ne s'arrête pas automatiquement quand l'eau bout, ce qui fait que sans surveillance tout le coin inondé par cet "humidificateur", des meubles et des ustensiles de cuisines qui proviennent tout droit du musée du grand trek, des poêles et casseroles en pur alu, indestructibles mais garanties super adhérentes ou il est impossible de se cuire des oeufs au plat sans un centimètre d'huile au fond...un frigo qui ferme mal, sans lumière (ampoule morte) sans porte de séparation entre le frigo et le compartiment de congélation! Personnel sympa mais sans plus: même avec un hôtel presque vide et pour un séjour de 13 jours, on n'a pas laissé aller dans des chambres avec vue sur la mer, sinon avec supplément, donc à deux pas de l'Océan super coup d'oeil sur le parking et l'immeuble voisin. L'internet qui utilise l'accès officiel contrôlé du gouvernement, payant et cher, soit à l'heure (donc moins il marche bien et plus il rapporte!) soit au mb mais aussi cher qu'un web café! En plus l'historique doit être soigneusement sauvegardé chez eux, mais plus disponible pour nous après la cession...! donc à déconseiller aux busin Lisateave

Très bon hotel avec une chambre confortable et spacieuse.
