We chose this resort because according to the pictures posted on the hotels.com website for this resort looked beautiful. I must say that the resort does not look as nice as the pictures. The resort is very outdated. When walking into our room, it smelled dusty as if nobody has been in that room for years. It almost made me wonder when the last time […] the sheets were changed. They only gave us 3 towels. The shower had very low pressure. The beds were a little too firm unless you enjoy sleeping on a rock. I understand that the resort is on a beach but it looks like they haven't cleaned the windows in years so there is a build up of salty slime on them. The private beach is nice, that is about all I can say good about this resort. The resort is in desperate need of a renovation and some TLC. I dont think the resort was worth the price. We will not be staying there again. Lisateave

Nice motel, not a resort. It was clean and well located. We paid a lot to go at that motel, it was supposed to be almost "No vacancy" but even if the weather was really nice, we found out that at that time of the year, there is plenty of rooms available. This is located in a beautiful location...great beach, near shops and restaurants. Nicely maintained surroundings. The only complaint I have is that the mattresses were awful. Otherwise it is a super place for a get away.

My wife and I stayed here on vacation. We wanted a beach property, and in this regard the Riviera shines. Beautiful beach and lovely grounds here. The hotel is a little dated, but it was clean and had a private balcony, and is in a very quiet neighborhood but only minutes from main shopping area. The ONLY complaint we had was it was easy to hear through […] the walls. Not voices or TV per se, but people in adjacent rooms walking around. There were 2 young children next to us who seemed to be constantly running around, even after bed time. If a little noise doesn't bother you, this place is great! Lisateave

The Riviera Beach Resort has an excellent pool and beach area. I have two children 8 and 6 and the pool was great for all of us. The beach area was clean and the staff was very friendly.

Although the hotel was right on the beach and that was lovely, i found the room very run down and old. Overwhelming smell of bleach for our entire stay. Beds were comfortable and it was more affordable then some others I looked at but I would have to say I probably would not stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in the beginning of September and it was beautiful! We loved the ocean view, the beach is right there, and there's no one around! Its perfect if you want to relax and have a nice quiet vacation! There are plenty of great restaurants five minutes down the road. My husband and I will definitely be back next […] September! we just loved the hotel, we wished the weather would've helped but that has nothing to do with the whole enjoyment of our stay. the sorroundings are great, you need a car to have access to everything, just in case someoe doesn't. Restaurants, pharmacies, attractions, mini golf every where etc., and eventhough my kids are big now, they have activities […] for little ones. The beach is beautiful!! we recomend this hotel! we will go back for sure!!! Lisateave

i would recommend this hotel to anyone with a young family very well organized and Great Location!

The private beach is beautiful!!! Beach chairs and umbrellas are brought out and set up for you when you arrive on the beach. The pool designs were also incredible. There were many planned activities for both adults and children. Everyone was so polite and helpful. Can't wait to return.

The rooms are very dated but the location and activities are amazing. It's right on the beach, the pools are great and they have a roster of children's activities. The rooms are very dated and nothing to speak of, but who spends time in the room anyway other than to sleep? Will be back.

A bit pricey but the beach and sand is sugary and uncrowded. Towels, beach chairs and umbrellas are furnished and set up by accommodating young staff. The entertainment is pretentious and over-organized. the property provides sufficient amenities. The band playing at the bar on the beach one afternoon was great, They should offer it every day. The balcony […] of our oceanfront room--with chairs and side table--provided a delightful and relaxing vista of ocean, beach, and volleyball court. The one breakfast we had in the property's restaurant was very good but highly overpriced. Having said that, I loved the fact that they offered single egg as well as two and three egg dishes. The Skipper restaurant--one mile west, down the road--provided excellent meals of very fresh seafood that were smartly priced. Get there early or plan on waiting twenty minutes. College kids are servers and appear well trained. The pedestrian priced house wine by the glass was excellent for accompanying their dishes. If you're looking for an uncrowded, white, sandy beach with mild surf that's good for children and us old folks, too, The Riviera is a good place to resort to. On a scale of 1–5, 5 being highest: Beach=4+; Room=4; Cleanliness=5; Entertainment=3; Service=4+; Parking=3. YES, I would go back in a heartbeat! Lisateave

We spent four days here and would recommend it to anyone going to the Cape. We were near a nice pool and 500 feet from the beach which was marvelous. The rooms are dated and stale but typical for east coast beachfront. The staff was friendly and the location was great.

It's amazing how much this hotel charges because of its location on the beach. but it's got not much else going for it. the beds are too soft, the rooms are a little dingy, but again, it's right off the water.

Overall it was a good stay. Wife did yoga class on beach (no extra charge).. Saw a magic show for kids. Staff was friendly. But, only 2 towels in room for showers. Beach towels provided with 'towel card' and lost card, missing towels charged at very very large dollar value per towel. I am sure all of these places have issues with theft but the towel […] rationing severely took away from enjoyment of stay. Lisateave

I've only stayed at one other hotel in Cape Cod before (last year was my first year) - and this resort was much better. The rooms were clean and had enough room for 3 people. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean and nice and the staff was wonderful. South Yarmouth is a GREAT town to stay in, and the Riviera beach resort is the only place I will stay […] when I come back to town. Definitely recommend. Lisateave

This was our first visit to Cape Cod and I could not have been happier with this hotel! It was an absolutely perfect place to stay. Calm and quiet in immediate neighborhood but short drives to hustle and bustle. The pools were kept clean as well as the private beach area was combed every night to maintain the cleanliness. The service was impeccable. […] The entertainment was just so nice, too. My son got to participate in a hermit crab race and won a prize! There was live (good!) music and beachside grill/bar. We got the beach without the legwork of it. Just a walk from our room and no need to bring anything but ourselves! They set up chairs, umbrella and had clean towels for us to use and return. We even stayed the day we checked out on the premises and were still allowed the amenities. There was a decent shower near the indoor pool so we could wash off from the beach before leaving. I gave room comfort a 4 only due to the bathroom/fridge area. The setup was challenging to have access to the fridge without blocking access in/out of the sink/bathroom area. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit...which will be soon! Lisateave

We were in one of the renovated oceanfront rooms - very nice room with flat panel TV. Unfortunately, bed was uncomfortable. Hotel also very noisy - lots of noise from upstairs walkways, surrounding rooms, etc. Soundproofing could have been much better! Beach towel card policy is a bit ridiculous - we are guests after all --not inmates!!

This was my first trip to Cape Cod and stay at a Riveria hotel. The hotel itself was clean and the staff was pleasant but this is definitely a no-frills type of place. I was on my honeymoon and looking for a more romantic hotel. This was acceptable for a weekend trip but nothing special. Great location on the beach though!

Excellant stay, very clean and comfortable. Will certainly go there again. Nice that it has an eating place on site.

There are several motels in the Red Jacket consortium, and I have stayed at two. Last year I stayed at the 1 Shore Rd. "better" [location] one, and while it was nice, the beds were rock hard and it was very crowded. So this year I tried the sister resort, one mile down the beach. Beds were much better, far fewer folks ... and in my opinion better. Best […] to go just prior to "season" late june, and yes we went swimming in the ocean! Lisateave

The hotel was very nice and clean. The hotel service was great. When we were having trouble getting a DVD player to hook up one of the staff members set it up for us immediatly with a new adapter box. Its right on the beach and only a few minutes away from great restaurants and whale watching.

We loved this hidden jewel. Directly on the beach, beautiful outside pool with a kiddie area. A great family spot, we will defintley go back!

Hotel was great but don't leave anything behind! I left my pillow behind and called an hour after checkout. They said they would call me when they found it. I have called 2 times since and no call back. I guess they throw everything away once you leave!

Stayed here for a ong weekend and had just what we needed. Close to great restaurants, right on the beach, clean rooms. Great value

We could not be happier after our stay the Riveira. After only about 20 mins we already said we would be back! The location is great, the beach is beautiful. It rained the whole time and we still had plenty to do. You get to use the facilities at all 3 of their resorts so theres always something to do. Great for families or couples! If you want to stay right on the beach, The Riviera is a perfect choice, however, thats about it. it is basically an 80's motel with a magnificient location. Given that there are soo many hotels all over the cape along with beaches, you can stay somewhere else cheaper and just drive a couple of miles to the beach.The rooms need to be updated, the mattresses […] along with the decor need to go. Our expetations were much higher after reviewing the photos from the web site. The rooms were not very clean or maintained for the price you pay per night. Location of Hotel was great. If you are looking to get away for a romantic weekend with your spouce you may want to find a place were there are not as many kids running around.

This is a great, family friendly hotel that is located on the beach! Perfect location. The restaurant is a little dated and unappetizing but for a quick sandwich it was fine. Front desk staff were nice and helpful. The only problem I encountered was with the housekeeping superviser who was a complete nightmare ... very mean with no customer service […] skills whatsoever. Riviera Beach resort should be renamed riviera Beach Motel it certainly did not have any resort like facitilities. The rooms were outdated, unattractive, dirty and very small. The bathroom was tiny old. Needs huge updating....felt like an old cottage Not worth the drive.

I love how the hotel is right on the beach. I could take my kids hopping between beach and pool. The outdoor pool is fantastic. The room is so-so, but it's clean. Overall I enjoyed the stay.

My family and I spent the July 4th holiday at the Riviera in South Yarmouth. When we arrived our room was ready, and it wasn't even check in time yet. The room was comfortable, spacious, and didn't have any funky smells. The walls were good at soundproofing: the lady next to us appologized for her baby screaming all night but we didn't hear a thing! […] We did however hear the stomping of the people above us. We stayed in the rooms that overlook the courtyard. The pool was so much fun for me and my daughter, the depth was perfect (3ft-4ft)...check out the pictures on the website. We loved having the chair and umbrella service on the beach too. For a small tip he will set up as many chairs and umbrellas as your group needs. The indoor pool was nice to have, but we didn't use it because we had nice weather. The BEST part about this hotel was all the activities they held as part of the Red Jacket hotel line. Riviera an several close by hotels are part of this chain and you can go to any of the hotels to swim, use the beach, or participate in activities. The Riviera had balloon animals and magic, a watercolor painting class, and a sandcastle building contest for the kids. The next hotel over held outdoor movies on several nights, and the Red Jacket Hotel at the end of the street hosted a bonfire..complete with marshmellows and roasting sticks. Plus there were all sorts of specials going on at the resturants within each hotel, some hosted live entertainment and others had themed dinners (BBQ, Luau, etc.). I felt like I didn't need to leave the hotel to find a good time. And if you do end up going on the July 4th holiday you don't have to leave the beach to see great fireworks. We chose not to battle the traffic to get to the town fireworks and ended up with front row seats to a great firework show from the beach. The prices at the resturants were a little high..but you tend to find that that's the case anywhere on the Cape. Our mini fridge saved us a lot of money, and there Lisateave

We spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel and wish we stayed longer. The hotel is located a short distance from a main road (28) and very convenient to everything when you take away the traffic. We booked an ocean front room and when we called to confirm the week before, we were given a second floor room with a balcony. A little upset, we were hoping […] for a first floor room that would open up to the beach directly but once we arrived that all went away. Our room was 8 steps from the stairs that led directly to the beach and our view was fantastic. The beach is very clean and the night before we left they came by and combed the beach smooth. Although we stayed during peak season the beach was never crowded. One piece of advice I can give regarding this if you are going during peak season is to get to the beach early if you are really dying to get a spot right next to the water (we saw people set up as early as 6) but it really isn't necessary although I can't say the same for the pool. The pool gets incredibly crowded in the afternoon and there aren't a lot of chairs available. In fact, we noticed that a lot of people got set up on the beach and left things on their chairs to reserve them....then did the same with pool chairs. This was a bit of an annoyance as you would see many chairs around the pool with personal belongings on them but you wouldn't see people there for hours. Another note about the pool, it is fantastic for kids but if you are looking to do any real swimming in there, you are better off going to the indoor pool since the outdoor pool's deepest section is about 5 feet. The hotel has a lot of planned activities that you can take part in and the fact that you can jump between Red Jacket hotels and use their amenities is fantastic. A note regarding this hotel and the Blue Water sister hotel next door is that this hotel seems to cater more to families (which was great for us). If you are younger, you might consider Blue Water. Nice location, beach is very nice, very family friendly, what you would expect for a nice Cape Cod beach hotel. Service was good, food not that great, but lots of restaurants very close to choose from.

The customer service at the front desk was great, our room was clean and ready when promised, the premises was beautiful and we will definitely be back!

Everything about our stay was very nice. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. They have a private beach that is groomed, and a big pool. The pool is excellent for all ages, even small babies as the pool goes deeper on a gradual scale. The hotel is just minutes from downtown, but far enough away […] so that it is nice and quiet. The only two things I would have to stay about the hotel that is not up to par was that our room was facing the sunrise and I would recommend putting in blackout curtains in those rooms. The sun woke us up very early. The other thing was that at their restaurant on property, was a little pricey. For breakfast it was convenient, but too expensive for what you got. There is a breakfast place, The Pancake Man, 5 minutes away from the hotel, so that might be a better choice. But overall an excellent hotel! Would highly recommend this hotel! Lisateave
