This Hotel does thing different. First, they don't give you the usual card as a key to the room, they actural give you a set of keys one for the dead boalt and one for the handle and to make things worst they only give you one set. So if you go with your partner you better sick together or one of you will get lock out. Also, the pictures of the hotel […] make the place look like its new however it is not. it is pretty old. To give them credit it is keep really clean and is located in a really nice area right on the beach. Also, they need to get their money back from the contractor who renvated the hotel or fire the maintenance guy because they did a lot of micky mouse work. You can tell they really didn't know what they where doing and they tryed to hide their bad work. Lisateave

We stayed at the ocean view suite. The room had a balcony and it was great view. Inside of the hotel seemed pretty old, but the room was very clean and looked nice. You can access to Ocean Drive easily as you can even take a bus to get there. The price was very cheap. We are definitely gonna visit there again.

I would seriously recommend for you to stay elsewhere. At check-in there were two people sitting at the desk, no other customers in the office, and it took them a couple of minutes to acknowledge my presence. I was given no information (access codes from beach area, how to locate the pool, how to locate the fitness). There’s no ramp to roll heavy bags […] into/out of the hotel and no assistance was provided to carry heavy bags down the stairs as several people looked from the desk area. I had no hot water the first night and was unable to take a shower to meet my friends out for dinner that evening. I was very upset. When i complained at the front desk the next morning and asked for compensation, they offered a coffee voucher at the tiki bar. Seriously! I told them if that's all they could offer, i didn't want it. They should've offered an extra night to use within a year (which i would not have used; i wouldn't even give it away to someone else). I would be embarrassed to recommend this place to anyone. The rooms have been renovated, but they did not clean up the old before applying the new and it's evident around the tiles which are cut out poorly. When i asked for a receipt, they told me i could go online to get a receipt. Seriously!, that's your job. The customer service is extremely poor. Bathtub area is unclean. Poor, poor experience. Do not stay at this hotel. Spend the extra money to stay at a clean, properly upgraded hotel. Lisateave

Did'nt enjoy my room being right next to the construction sites because of the noise, so the hotel staff changed our room & that made me very happy. Loved the convience of the free valet parking & the access to the beach! I would stay there again! Staff was very nice. Some things need some improving, but overall it's a nice place to crash!

We arrived at these apartments, to find all the drains coming up through the toilets on the ground floor. There was a man complaining at reception that the water was a problem in his apartment on the 8 th floor. The valet parking could not understand us, they obviously spoke broken English. It was a completely mad arrangement and we were upset, so we […] left. We did not go back and booked into another motel on Hollywood beach for 2 nights as this is all we could get. I am disappointed as I did want to visit south beach as I had not been there for 25 years and this was a holiday of re visiting places. I booked this in good faith in Expedia, but I am deeply disappointed with the upset at the end of my holiday. This Condo/hotel is under major revamping...... Having said that in its time it must have been beautiful. The kichenette / room that we had was all done in Ikea draperies linens and furniture. The beds were too soft and sinkable. The bathroom had old fixtures and the tub was painted. all the floor tiles were great as was the granite kitchen counters […] and new cabinetry. location was excellent. do not confuse that you have access to hot tub. there is a seperate turkish spa business in the building. Salt water pool, bar at poolside and private beach access. Economical and if you do not expect too much you will be satisfied. Lisateave

This is like a 2 or 1 stars hotel or motel. Ugly elevator, tiny room, stinky room. Was a really bad experience. Dont even think about it. I was with my family and even my 4 years old son told me he doesnt like the room.

This is not a new, sleek, modern hotel, but it is a good, affordable hotel in an area that is not affordable to most people. We stayed on the 15th floor for 5 nights. In my opinion, our room was exceptionally nice for what we paid. We had granite countertops, marble floors, and a nice modern bathroom. The view was wonderful, we had a sunrise view from […] our east window and a sunset view from our west window. The windows were in need of replacement and the door to the unit had some water damage. We had all the dishes and appliances we needed to prepare food and a nice sized refridgerator. The down side of this hotel is that the rest of the building needs some work. The elevators are frightening and in need of repair. The hallway had some burned out bulbs and very messy paint on the walls. The valet were working very hard, but at times took quite a while to help everyone. The pool area was nice with ample lounge chairs. Overall the place needs a good cleaning up to make it really nice. Excellent value! Collins Ave., on the beach, clean room, comfortable bed, & they accepted my two small dogs at no charge, free valet, what more could you ask for? I was a little hesitant on booking from other reviews about cockroaches, there are no bugs here!!!

Old Shower head, rusted hanger, no hot water at late evening ! Even if renovated, the apparatus in kitchen is far from luxury. The only good thing for hot summer is silent beach next to the backdoor of the hotel. But it's far from Miami beach on TV !

This place is on a downward slide even though it is being RENOVATED right now!! It is a strange place where people own and live here and people rent their condos to tourists. The place feels old and run down. Our room 616, was a have assed reno job done w/ IKEA furnishings I had a problem with the safe,the minute I got there and phone the contact number […] two times- no response just voice mail. I left a message and got n response for the 3 days that we stayed at this dump. We wound up carrying our passports and valuables everywhere instead of using the non fuctioning safe The ceiling is water damaged in spots and some the lights did not work. The whole space had a very grundgy feel. The kitchen had a 2 element hotplate not a stove (worked), toaster (worked), fridge (no lights) and a exhaust fan that did work Even though I connected with wifi in the room it did not work w/ my phone or Ipad. My devices did work in the lobby though Valet parking only - this is a joke because it take them 20+ min to get your car when it is busy. Not wheel chair friendly if you are crippled Supposed to be a security building, but if it is busy people can slide by securiy The only thing that this place had going for it is that it right on the beach. If you had an oceanview, the view is spectacular, we had a view of the traffic, which is very noisy. Avoid this trashpile at all cost - if we had know how this place was we would have rented somewhere for twice the price or went to Best Western Lisateave

This is not a Hotel they are condo conversions. I booked a stay with 2 adults and 2 children and was given a room with only one bed. Had to wait 3 hours to get switched to another room. There is no house keeping, no room service, nothing to do near by. I was charged an extra vallet fee of $90 for a second car for two days parking. Also no rug in rooms. […] Its also been 3 days since I checked out and I still haven't gotten my $100 room deposit. I hated the stay from the moment I walked into the lobby. Worst stay ever. This is more like apartment room than hotel room. Front desk is open until 5pm, after hours there is only security. Free valet parking, free Internet. Our room could be more clean, but we have nice ocean view from the balcony. 99% of the people At the hotel speak Spanish. basic rooms--old building--vary in quality and comfort--stayed here several times and had some great rooms that were nicely remodeled and some rooms that were barely upgraded --bonus is the free parking although the valet can be slow--not a quiet building --basic amenities--pool and beach although there is a great spa on the premises

Well, for the good points first. The price we paid for a basic hotel type room was fairly low for Miami at this time of year. The location was good if you are looking for someplace a little less crowded than the South Beach area. The security guards in the lobby were very nice during check-in and check-out. I thought the valet parking folks were great!!! […] We never waited more than 1-3 minutes on our car. Our room was ok. Both beds were fairly comfortable and the 17th floor view of the ocean was very nice (but don't expect a balcony). Now, for the not so good points, Quite frankly, the hotel has seen its better days. It looks a bit run down and most of the elevators don't work. I had my sister and my kids with me and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families, My kids were giving me the "what have you gotten us into "look" on the night we checked in. The tub in the room was a bit scary and not too inviting. Of course, things always look better in the day light, so my kids did come around and got used to things by the next day, but I think I have spoiled them a bit because we typically stay in much nices places than this. While this hotel is listed as "pet friendly" what they fail to tell you is that it is only "friendly" to pets 25 lbs or less. This didn't become known to me and my wife until we arrived at 11:30 PM, after driving 1000+ miles from Virginia. The hotel did let us keep our 50lb pit in the room with us that night, but if she stayed past check out the following […] day, we would be fined $200 and be kicked out of the hotel. Had this information been given to us PRIOR to our trip, we would have selected a different hotel. No where on their website does it indicate any restrictions or advise contacting the hotel regarding any restrictions. The only information it provides is in regards to the fees. The front desk is only open from 9am to 6pm. After 6, you have to deal with security who aren't the most customer service orientated people. And the number of security guards in and around the hotel make you feel like you are in jail. If you knock a bottle of sun tan lotion over, there is a security guard there within 20 seconds to tell you to clean it up. If we hadn't already paid for the three nights at this hotel, we would have switched to another. If we ever visit Miami again, we will definitely not stay at this hotel again. Lisateave

The only issue was that the air conditioner kept dripping water and forming puddles inside the room; I mentioned to the reception desk, and I was handed some towels to put on the floor. Other than that, service, view and everything else was great.

The staff (reception/cleaning) is really great, but is not enough to make it up for the terrible condition of the building. It seems they are renovating, but not taking adequate care of the process and how it impacts current guests. The building is old (1966) and you can tell. The elevators, doors and other common areas are in poor if not terrible conditions. […] Also, this is not a hotel in the traditional sense (permanent staff, reception, etc), but more of a "rent an apartment" facility. Now, the location is ok. There are buses that can take you in 10 min to Miami Beach. The building has access to the beach, but the ones in front of Ocean Drive are much better. So, if we come back to Miami this what I'd do: Find the best possible deal in either this two locations: 1) Anywhere on Ocean Drive (plenty of Boutique Hotels on the more expensive side of things) 2) Anywhere on Collins Avenue between 1st and 20th Street, preferably between 5th and 15th (probably more affordable options) Lisateave
