Check in was great. In fact, The Front Desk Mgr did an amazing job of trying to sort things out for us and the rest of our large group. The room was disappointing. The window in the bathroom would not shut completely, hence a sign to keep the BR door closed so that the rest of the room would cool better. The beds were two full sized, had requested King […] and would have preferred at least a queen. Not a very comfortable mattress either. And you pay for wireless internet by the hour. If you buy an hour, it runs for an hour even if you use it for 5 minutes and try to sign off. There was no bathmat, had to use the only hand towel as a bathmat, no wash clothes, ironing board but no iron, and when I called to ask for those things it took half an hour to get them up to the room, we were late to supper. But that should have told me something. Supper was horrible. The poor girl waiting tables was very young and very new. When several of us asked for the broiled Grouper Fish, she said they had not fish. It turns out they had snapper strips and some of us got those. Most of us tried to compensate by ordering the "steak" which was presented overcooked, over salted, very thin and basically the worst steak of my entire life. I never did get any butter for my roll, service was very spotty, the food came out in spurts so that half of us were done before the other half got any food. One person had to put her order in twice to get a hamburger. Pathetic. Again, the bellman and the front desk manager were marvelous and tried very hard. The little girl waiting tables tried hard, she just had nothing to work with. I will NEVER stay here again. I travel to Belize several times a year and I will plan for a different place to stay. This was Ridiculous! Lisateave

This is a big hotel with a bowling alley, large casino with blackjack, roulette and slot machines, movie theater, two restaurants, a gym and an olympic sised pool. Needs maintenance but served the purpose of staying a night before getting our flight. Everything is getting old and in need of maintenance, but we would stay here again. This is an old hotel that requires some significant upgrades in order to be a 3 star hotel as advertised. Customer service at the hotel was lacking; we ordered room service that never came; we asked for additional towels that never came and had to be hunted down. The food was marginal at best. There was very little in the area surrounding the hotel […] so you were "captive." Lisateave

Hotel is like an econo lodge. Modest everything. Pool and location.

This is probably one of the few hotels where you can stay in Belize City. It's a big hotel, has a nice Casino, a disco-bar, a great pool and restaurant. It has an ocean view in most rooms. The water in the ocean is not good for swimming. Condition of hotel: The hotel is old, but there are some recent improvements/renovations. Rooms are fine. Basic […] and clean. No balconies, even though it has a view. The neighborhood is not great, but there are no good neighborhoods in Belize city where you might want to stay anyway. Overall, if I had to stay in Belize City (e.g. if going to mayan ruins, zoo, or cave tubing) then I would stay in this hotel again. Lisateave

Hotel is pretty run down. We did not see any other hotel guests during our one day stay - ghost town feeling. It is true what they say - Do NOT stay in Belize...as soon as you arrive at the international airport, move directly to your destination out of town. Restaurant nearby "Celebrity" is really good. Take a taxi - do not walk. However, we did take […] a taxi back to the hotel after dinner at Celebrity, but the driver put a lot of pressure to want to drive us to San Ignacio the next day - $150. He even stopped the car to make his point! We felt scared because of the incident - It appears the hotel staff gave the taxi driver information about our travel plans - Very BAD! Lisateave

My stay was amazing i loved the service and i will be recommending this hotel to my friends and family.

After I booked this hotel for my stay I read some of the reviews and thought Oh my God did I make a mistake....... all the negative things that were said. I kept the room and decided to experience it for myself though I was very skeptical. The hotel was perfect, I did not go looking for a king's mansion I wanted somewhere clean and safe I got much more. […] I have been to 3-5 star hotels so I know what to expect. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable cleans sheets, and the rooms were cleaned everyday, beds made, they even folded my daughter's clothes. The bathroom was clean and YES there was hot water even though I did not need it except at nights, because it was so hot during the daytime I just needed the cold shower. The breakfast was what you expected and a little more. They had a variety and you chose what you wanted. To top it off I had the most magnificent view, Every morning the sunrise was so spectacular I just laid in bed and filed it away for the freezing mornings to come. This hotel will be my home away from home in Belize!!! Lisateave

Never could get any hot water from the sink or shower; room door didn't seal - could hear everything and everybody that walked by outside, as well as vehicle traffic; internet worked poorly; staff were not responsive to concerns

I was very surprise at the condition of the furniture in the room,The base was rotted and falling apart. The pool area was dirty and needed pressure cleaning. The lobby was moldy and dark. I will not stay there again

Very satisfied with the hotel. Staff was exceptionally nice and courteous. Area was central to everything. The fact that you couldn't take the pools towels to the room was a bit odd. Poor service internet and a bit expensive, should be complimentary. I am not a gambler therfore casino was a great distraction for something to do on the nights we had […] nothing planned. Breakfast could have a wider variety but it was fine. Overall not a bad place to stay, view from window was awesome. Pool area is very relaxing. Margaritas was the best. My daughters first trip and it was amazing. Can't wait to return. Gift shop prices weren't bad either. Lisateave

The pond was huge but only 2.5 to 3.5 feet deep but the area around it was nice. The breakfast buffet was a standard Middle East style - boiled eggs, cheeses, roasted potatoes, breads, butter, jams, and eggs to order. It is an adequate first meal of the day. Lunch and Supper were a fair value considering the cost of a taxi ride on pothole ridden streets […] to any other place. The area was a mixed use area of rundown buildings, church shelter, and food stands. Great selection of television channels but internet was very expensive. Belize blocks all VoIP telephone services. Taxi service is adequate but each ride was an adventure due to the low quality of the cars. Overall, a clean basic hotel with fair beds, good air conditioning, and adequate hot water for showers. excellent hotel. I highly recommend this hotel. the staff was very helpful. My wife and i had a great time there and if God will we will go back and stay at princess hotel& casino resort. I would like to thank the entire staff for all the help we received. God Bless

Hotel to me was unsatisfactory. AC didnt work properly, shower head had no water pressure,did not get the room i ordered on line, items that were supose to be in the room was not there. To me the good are the breakfast and the casino.

I had finished my tour of Belize and needed one night in Belize City before I caught my airplane. The Turkish-owned Princess was perfect for this as they have a convenient shuttle for the airport (at less than taxi rates), a tasty restaurant on the water, and both continental and Turkish breakfasts available. The walk along the water to the tourist […] sites is also very pleasant. Lisateave

This was the worst Hotels.com experience ever. We were warned by previous travelers but our room on the island did not have a vacancy the first night and we like the slot machines so we stayed one night. Over 45 minutes to check in, only one clerk, no computer (hand held calculator), loud construction work during check in and Sunday morning when trying […] to sleep. Room reserved was not available. The worse thing was NO HOT WATER for two days! Excuse was they were remodeling the dining room (grinding the floor) and hot water was out (impossible excuse, boiler was down and they would not repair it). So going to take a cold shower after traveling we find out no wash clothes in the room. We got a hard time about a late check out while we waited for hot water that never came. The toilet, tub and vanity sink drains were all clogged (could not flush toilet, ugh!). There was no restaurant in the hotel as advertised. The casino was one room with machines from the 1960's Vegas North Strip. No drapes so when the sun is up so are you. Hotel is in very run down condition, it is a shame because with the facilities they have it could be a great place. Advertising photos don't show old paint, rust, falling off A/C grilles, holes in the walls, etc. Don't buy snacks in the lobby they are very stale and candy melted. Lobby smelled very bad. You share the pool with any kids locally that can afford a few dollars for a pool pass (the sale of which is more important than your check in). No help with the luggage up the steps at the front entry or to the room. Employees hang out in the lobby but none to help with luggage or check in. Your luggage does not quite fit through the metal detector at the front door (this should have been the tip off for what was to come!). Bar was never open. With a little money and a new general manager the hotel has great potential. Did I mention there was no hot water and the toilet wouldn't flush!! Lisateave

The general state of repair is in need of much attention as there were several water leaks in he ceiling in the main lobby and other areas. There was no hot water in the rooms and there has been none for a long time. Our AC unit worked fine and the fan as well. The restaurant was closed for dinners but did provide a good breakfast each morning for the […] price (free) to all guest. The restaurant next to the dock , Calypso Seafood, located on the water side of the Hotel had good food but just a little pricey with service by young kids getting their first job in the service industry. The bowling ally and kids arcade was not open until Friday mostly to service the locals who come to use the Casino and not the Hotel guest who stay during the week. We looked at several web sites and would have been very upset if we had paid some of the higher prices for our room. If someone was in need of staying in or around Belize City for two or three days then moving on I would say here for the price and location but no more. Lisateave

Hotel needs major renovations. They charge you for everything. NO hot water my last two nights, food s terrible. The room was clean though, that was the only plus. In Belize you do not have any options. The photos of the hotel are very misleading.

Que esa mercadeo no pare chequen las alfombras ya huelen un poquito mal, no dejen caer el hotel por que la verdad es lindo

El hotel es seguro, limpio, habitaciones amplias, fuera del centro pero accesible para llegar a todas partes. Es mi tercera visita y todo ha salido sin contratiempos. Precios razonables en la comida, aunque la variedad es limitada. La calidad de la comida es buena y en algunos platos es excelente (rib eye steak).

Muy buena atención en especial de los "botones". Sería bueno que las recepcionistas facilitaran un poco más de información con respecto a actividades posibles en ese bello país, en especial para los foráneos que no lo conocen. Algunas partes de las instalaciones requieren mejor mantenimiento como: barandas de escaleras, electrodomésticos dentro de las […] habitaciones y los exteriores. Lisateave

El objetivo de mi viaje era hacer entrevistas para unas becas de la organización internacional que represento. y pude cumplir con mi objetivo pues el hotel me brindó los espacios y ambientes que yo necesité para entrevistar a los candidatos. Por lo demás lo unico que sugiero es que el Hotel debe de mejorar la oferta gatronòmica pues es un poco cara […] y muy limitada. Lisateave

bueno, tiene problemas de mantenimiento que se podrían arreglar fácilmente para hacer la estadía mas placentera pero en general no esta mal, la comida es buena y de buen precio, el desayuno incluido se ajusta a lo normal de estos hoteles. mal el Internet de paga, mal el ascensor malo y y el otro en condiciones deplorables, el servicio no tan bueno pero […] como que es la tónica en este sitio. Es un pésimo hotel donde lo que ofrecen no existe. el desayuno es pobre y no atienden como debería ser. La comida no tiene buen sabor y no hay variedad. Las personas que atienden no son atentas con el huesped. No habían toallas, ni jabón ni shampoo en la habitación. Nos toco discutir por más de una hora con la recepcionista del hotel por malos entendidos […] con los gerentes. En fin, no es un hotel para pasar unas buenas vacaciones. Lisateave
